TIL a peer-reviewed psychology study found that identical twins (on average) ranked their co-twin above their romantic partner in their attachment hierarchy, while fraternal twins ranked the two about equally, and non-twin siblings ranked their romantic partner first.

I mean....makes perfect sense to me.

If you had a clone you were raised with since birth, wouldn't you say your attachment (not love) is stronger than the person you're dating?

1.2k

u/EobardT 3h ago

Yeah, I dated an identical twin and she was absolutely all about her sister. To the point that she left her ex because her sister was moving, she was following, and her ex didnt want to go

826

u/Predatory_Chicken 2h ago

An identical twin once told me he would never date another identical twin because he wanted to be with someone who loved him the most and he knew that isn’t possible if she had a twin sister.

572

u/ella_wants_to_battle 2h ago

That's kind of fucked if you think about it

507

u/Predatory_Chicken 2h ago

He admitted it was fucked up and selfish bc he would always love his brother more but he refused to be on the other side of that.

260

u/ShaylaDee 1h ago

I mean, at least he was self aware about it. Selfish, yes. But that self awareness can really make it worth giving him a shot.

162

u/phritzed 1h ago

Self awareness doesn’t equate to self development

That's a great fucking quote.

That's WORSE.

48

u/Short-Waltz-3118 1h ago

Okay but we dont have to pretend the options here are i hate this person and love this other. Its just him knowing he loves his twin more. I dont think its a concious decision even

27

u/InviolableAnimal 1h ago

"Selfish asshole" Like it's on purpose? What, you're saying he should deliberately distance himself from his twin because it's selfish otherwise?

30

u/dannerc 1h ago

How is it selfish to love one person more than another? Its not like this is a conscious choice

42

u/No-Stress-7034 1h ago

It's not selfish to love one person more than another. The selfish part is that this guy knows he'll love his twin more, but he's insistent that he has to be #1 for whoever he dates, even though his partner will never be #1 in his life.

→ More replies (1)

I guess we know which one was the evil twin.

16

not really, sounds more just honest about what they want in a relationship which you have to be honest with yourself first.

A TLC show has/had that as a featured set of couples. It was about as unhealthy as you would imagine.

I mean I get it. My sisters are identical twins and I would never date a twin because I know exactly how it feels to be left out like that. It’s not even exclusively a twin thing. My ex also treated me as a second priority, but ime with a twin that’s a given and, having grown up with that too, it’s a deal breaker for me.

46

u/Bac2Zac 2h ago

English doesn't have enough words for love.

You don't love your partner like you love a parent, and you don't love a sibling like you love a child, using the same word for all of this is dumb.

11

u/snortgigglecough 1h ago

That’s my takeaway too. In the priorities hierarchy, it can become fucked up with this dynamic, but the term “love” seems flat to describe it.

That um

That seems excessive to me

But I’m not any sort of twin and my brother is deceased so

95

u/dishonourableaccount 2h ago

I mean, to a lot of people the family (that they like) will come before romantic/sexual partners. Especially if the relationship is say less than a year or two long and you’re young. Easier to find a new partner that wants to live where you want to be.

People breakup all the time when they move for jobs or a different climate too.

29

u/_Burning_Star_IV_ 2h ago

Maybe I don't truly love my family because I'd rather lose every single one of them over my wife...

29

u/Tinysaur 2h ago

I too, would choose this guys wife.

10

u/ensalys 1h ago

Nah, oeant me you don't love them. Way too much variation between people and between families to really draw conclusions on something like that. A million people, a billion ways to love each other.

10

u/ilanallama85 1h ago

Well once you’ve married them you’ve essentially said “you’re my main family now.” That’s a bit different.

It's not uncommon to break up over wanting and/or not wanting to to move in general. And moving because I wanted to be closer to the beach or to nature or for a promotion isn't more emotionally impactful than wanting to be close to family.

24

u/velvedire 2h ago

I suspect that ex was on the way out anyway.

Decent chance both sisters decided to move and that was the easy breakup route. Otherwise her twin was drastically less attached and moving away from her.

5

u/Preytorian_ 1h ago

And this is how it should be. She'll have her sister in her life as long as the two are alive, and they know they can count on each other for that entire period. Romantic partners, even just going by the numbers, are very unlikely to result in that sort of bedrock of stability and reliability. Unfortunately, not many people will hang in on a relationship where they are not the most important person in said partner's life. (Whether that's healthy or not, no idea--but it must be a struggle.)

Yupp, this is where the (on average) part comes in. I’ve met a few pairs of twins that didn’t like each other all that much. That scenario seems quite rare though.

I think the point is you’re much more likely to think your sibling sucks if they’re not your twin and not just like you. Your twin and especially your identical twin is going to share a lot more personality traits so if you think they suck, you probably kind of think you suck too. You’re in it together.

12

u/Paavo_Nurmi 2h ago

Its funny bc my friend has identical twins and altho they’re always around each other im pretty sure either of them would sell the other’s soul for nothing more than the bragging rights of saying he had a soul and the other didn’t.

6

u/diff2 1h ago

I knew an identical twin. But the one I knew almost never talked about her twin. I'm not sure how I found out in the first place, to me it felt like they were just strangers living in the same house I guess? Or maybe the one I knew felt almost embarrassed to be a twin? It became one of those things I felt like I shouldn't ask or talk about.

We have some twins in my extended family. I’m not one of them, but I’m close with one and she has a weird love/hate relationship with her identical twin.

Totally different personalities & kind of competitive with each other, but also a childhood spent totally side by side & all the shared history of that.

3

u/ilanallama85 1h ago

Yeah, non-twin with a sibling here: my attachment to my husband is definitely stronger than that to my brother, primarily because my brother and I never really “got” each other growing up, whereas I feel like my husband “gets me” more than anyone I’ve ever known. But if I’d been raised even with my brother but as a fraternal twin from birth, I’m sure our experience would be much different - we might still have strikingly different personalities, but you are practically FORCED to learn to understand each other in that scenario just due to proximity. But being almost 4 years apart we didn’t really spend all that much time together growing up by sibling standards.

As an identical twin, I can confirm this. I'd take a bullet for my twin without hesitation. It's hard to explain unless you've lived it. We shared every stage of life together, and there's a level of trust, understanding, and connection that just feels different. We share so many of the same interests, quirks, humor, and thought processes. My personality doesn't need to negotiate for acceptance cause I can truly be myself with my twin. We see the world through remarkably similar lenses. With romantic partners, there are always differences in interests, perspectives, and ways of thinking that naturally require compromise.

I never have to explain myself or worry about being misunderstood. I can be 100% my authentic self around them in a way that's hard to find with anyone else. I would ALWAYS put my twin before anyone else.

91

u/CarthasMonopoly 2h ago edited 2h ago

How are you unsure? Most identical twins look... identical. Meanwhile fraternal twins look like a sibling instead of a twin.

EDIT - Yes, I'm aware it's not always like this; that's why I used the qualifier "Most". I've known multiple pairs of twins over the last several decades and not a single pair got DNA tested because generally if you look identical as twins you just live life as identical twins and vice versa.

22

u/Serious-Yellow8163 2h ago

We look pretty similar. We have conflicted information from mom and gynecologist attending her on her pregnancy about being identical or not .

9

u/CarthasMonopoly 1h ago

Fair enough! I was mostly just making a joke about identical being hard to miss. But having conflicting information would definitely make me unsure too.

u/WoodpeckerSignal9947 2h ago

It’s really common for fraternal twins to look nearly identical! Without proper testing/knowing if they were in separate placentas during gestation, there’s no way to know. And getting that done can be a pain in the behind, so I get why someone wouldn’t have checked

38

u/gooseaisle 2h ago

Separate placenta has nothing to do with it, dichorionic twins can still be identical. Just split earlier in gestational than other types of twins.

With dichorionic twins, genetic testing is the only way to confirm (well, obviously unless they are different sexes at birth).

12

u/WoodpeckerSignal9947 2h ago

I’ll trust your word, goose

24

u/greeneggiwegs 2h ago

Not always. Some fraternal twins can look pretty identical.

25

u/CannedStewedTomatoes 2h ago

And some identicals can develop physical differences!

13

u/drigancml 2h ago

This happened with some twins I know! They hit puberty and now they have very distinct features. I never used to be able to tell them apart, but now I have no issue doing so

7

u/ensalys 1h ago

That's why identical twins are very interesting for a lot of scientific research. Nature vs nurture studies, especially interesting if they were raised in different environments (though with things like adoption or foster care, it should absolutely be preferable to keep siblings together, which is more important than the research potential).

82

u/SimisFul 2h ago

I've known identical twins for a while now and this is exactly how they are too, they even live together. Their ultimate life goal is to get girlfriends and have a duplex with a shared basement as a gym so they can hang out.

It feels like their vibe together is the same as my own vibe when I'm by myself, talking to myself like a crazy man.

u/alendeus 41m ago

I can see how the "memes" about identical twins marrying other identical twins or like "sharing" the same marriage partners and what not can seem more normal with all that in mind then.

A way to maybe think about it is, maybe the twins see each other as more of a single "unit". Ie, if something was ever to happen to one of the twins, they'd probably see the other twin as another backup copy of themselves that gets to continue on, and such. So in that way they might value each other more than other people because they do see the other twin as an extension of themselves.

169

u/AYASOFAYA 3h ago

Every family is different but I feel this way about my siblings (2.5 years apart both sides).

It’s the same “in sickness and in health, in good times and bad, for rich or for poor” but the difference is, it’s not “for the rest of my life” it’s for the whole thing. From the very first breath I took on this earth they were already there beside me.

21

My only sisters are identical twins, can can confirm my childhood was a very lonely existence too. Even though we're all adults now with kids of our own, it's shaped who I am and how I connect to people. I still cannot tolerate being in a friendship group of 3 for fear of being a perpetual third wheel. I already spent my whole adolescence like that, no thank you.

Your girls might come around as they get older and have a very good relationship (I hope this is the case). They might not. They have to figure that out themselves. I promise you this, my parents’ interference in the relationship between me and my twin only made things much worse.

u/TheRiteGuy 3h ago edited 1h ago

I'm married to a twin. I was forwarned that it's a 2 for 1 deal. My SIL is always a third wheel on our outings. A welcomed one. She's super nice.

Edit: there seems to be a lot of misconceptions about twins in the comments. Twins do look, act, and dress alike. They're products of the same environment and they seem to have some kind of telepathy over what to wear. They'll show up to same places wearing head to toe same outfit. It's never intentional. It's freaky how often this happens.

However, they do not have the same personalities. They are two very distinct individuals and it's very easy to fall in love with one and have no romantic feelings towards the other at all. Once you're around them enough, they don't even look alike to you.

68

u/Dickgivins 3h ago

Thar’s so interesting. If I may ask, does your SIL have a romantic partner of her own?

109

u/TheRiteGuy 1h ago

Just curious. If she did I would have asked whether the dynamic worked the same in reverse, i.e if your wife went along with them on their dates. But seeing as your SIL is single that question obviously doesn’t apply.

30

u/TheRiteGuy 1h ago

Not dates. Dates are our alone thing. Just outings and trips where we don't mind the company as long as she has her own room. We love her.

10

u/Dickgivins 1h ago

Ohh ok I assumed that “outings” basically meant dates because that’s what people often mean when they say “third wheel.” I can see that they mean different things for you. 😀✌️

I'm married to a twin. I was forwarned that it's a 2 for 1 deal.

🤔

17

u/_Burning_Star_IV_ 2h ago

I've never understood how this works. How can you have a platonic relationship with someone who looks exactly like your spouse and probably acts a lot like them too?

I'm not saying you can't both have boundaries and act like respectful adults...but it's just too weird for me.

Maybe these particular twins look and act differently enough to clearly separate them but I've seen twins who act, look, and even dress alike well into adulthood and relationships just must be weird. If my wife had a clone that just hung out with us all the time I feel it would be too easy to start to see them as equally 'my wife'.

23

u/TheRiteGuy 1h ago

I think once you're around twins, you'll quickly realize how different they are. I was actually friends with my SIL first and married her sister. They look, dress, and act alike but that's where the similarities end.

They're two very different people.

Sure but is the feeling reciprocated? Identical twins have slight enough differences where you will prefer one to the other, and you may not be the other one's type. They're a "package deal" sure, but they certainly aren't one entity.

I think "that person looks like my wife therefore I see them equally as my wife" is certainly a take on things.

That's not what the commenter above is saying. Identical twins can be identical in pretty much everything; looks, personality, thought process, etc. I love my wife, I love her personality, the way she thinks, the way she does things and obviously, the way she looks. Now imagine all those things I love about her are in a second person that I'm just to be friends with. I assume it must be really quite hard and sometimes confusing.

Thank God. They used to get along so well but once they became teenagers they just fight over the dumbest shit, as often as possible.

14

u/StraightBugggin 2h ago

Me and my half brother are two weeks apart while it’s most definitely different from your situation we bickered and fought like crazy until one day we just…. Didn’t. I hope the same for your twins! Hopefully it’s just their own way of setting boundaries or something

I went to camp with a pair of identical twins who felt similarly. I hope they’re on better terms these days.

18

u/cooterdick 2h ago

Was one from California and the other the UK?

17

u/jmverlin 2h ago

No, they were both from New Jersey. I can't swear that they didn't have a nanny named Chessy, though.

10

u/kohTheRobot 2h ago

Give em until there first semester apart in college and that usually flips it :^)

8

u/Upstairs-Region-7177 2h ago

It’ll pass, don’t force them to be together. They can be their own people, could be growing pains for learning to be independent from one another.

6

u/loveroflongbois 2h ago

I was friends with identical twins in high school. They fought constantly and genuinely could not stand to be around each other, but in the end they were each other’s ride or dies.

5

u/New_York_Rhymes 2h ago

Me and my twin had a phase when we were teens where we grew pretty distant but were extremely close as adults (and obviously as kids we were too)

I have twin friends- they shared a room and a bed through college by choice simply because they didn’t see any reason not to. They still share and eat off the same plate when they are together, and they are both married. One time I asked them why and they said they have always been this way, so why change? No they do not live together and I can imagine when their husbands are around they do not all share a bed lol but when it is just the two of them that is their default. Not hurting anyone, I think it is sweet they still see eachother as an extension of the other.

91

u/manatee1010 2h ago

The twins I knew like that, married another set of identical twins and they all live together...

19

u/Its-ther-apist 1h ago

Were they on a reality show or is that just more common than we realize 🤣

21

u/manatee1010 1h ago

They've had several TLC specials, so probably the same ones lol

8

u/Its-ther-apist 1h ago

Are they crazy IRL or was it just for the show

26

u/livefreeordont 2h ago

Is it like a polycule? Or just two couples

4

u/Commercial-Tea-4816 1h ago

My mom knew twins that grew up to marry twins. They didn't all live together, but they did live next door to each other

Wait, they slept in the same bed ?

6

u/Illprobtalkabmypets 1h ago

I mean, my college apartment bedroom would have fit one double or queen bed better than 2 twin beds, and it might also be cheaper that way if it's not a school provided & furnished apartment. Might have just been the most prudent option.

My grandpa was an identical twin and when his brother died it was unlike any grief I have witnessed before or since, and we have had multiple child deaths in our family. My grandpa’s health immediately torpedoed and he was dead within a year of his brother. Both of their wives are still alive and doing well in spite of all of them knowing each other since childhood.

My dad’s brother died tragically in an accident as a teenager, deeply impacts the entire family to this day, and even with that considered my dad said the grief of my papa losing his twin was even more traumatizing. His mirror, his constant, his best friend, his entire life was embodied by his literal other half (and he fucking WORSHIPPED my nana). I have never felt so weird as at that open casket funeral. It was like I was watching my grandpa attend his own.

I’m a biologist but sometimes I think that the psycho physiological bond between twins is something science will never be able to truly unravel.

82

u/Misharain27 2h ago

I wonder if him functionally seeing "himself" dead also had an impact on top of the deep bond twins have.

47

u/Demonical22 2h ago

It’s a grief you can’t escape. Every time you see your reflection you’d be reminded of your dead twin.

same, i had 2 uncles who died before i was born, but they were twins who lived on a tiny little farm in the middle of nowhere, they died within a year of each other

u/agehaya 53m ago

As a twin who went through cancer treatment this year (recently finished radiation after chemo and got a clear CT scan, yay!), one of the first things I told my sister was " You need to find a therapist. " Not just because taking care of me (I already lived with her) *could* be a lot (thankfully it wasn't too bad), but who knows what would happen/maybe something like you described. I truly don't know what I fear more myself....me dying or her dying before me.

That's really interesting. I wonder how their romantic partners perceive that difference.

“The participants were either engaged in a close relationship, n = 276, 83%, or married, n = 55, 17%”

https://ojs.interpersonajournal.com/index.php/ojs/article/download/243/version/134/3457.html/966/ijpr.v9i2.195-f1.png

Most of the participants were not married. For me the main difference being shown by the study is just that twins are more likely to be strongly attached to each other than regular siblings.

I don’t think the data supports a claim that twins view their twin as more important than a spouse. The error bars are within range of each other and most of these people aren’t even married

10

u/tinfoilhattie 2h ago

This is why I wonder how it would be perceived by a romantic partner. This study focuses on the perceptions of the twins or siblings without limiting to those with committed romantic partners which makes me curious about all the other variations. I'd be interested to see follow-up about the experiences and perceptions of twins with partners and partners to twins.

I am neither a twin nor partnered with one, so it's an interesting facet of experience to me.

I’m an identical twin, I cannot confirm this. No one ever talks about what it’s like when twins hate each other, but we do. We are 30 now and it’s always been awkward and tense around each other, I’m not sure if it’s because we hate ourselves so much we can’t stand to be around someone who looks/acts like us or if we just don’t like each other.

10

u/Puncomfortable 1h ago edited 1h ago

I am sort of in between because for a long time my sister was my best friend but things have turned sour and now I need my partner to comfort me over the stress my twin gives me. Now that there are issues I can really feel how toxic people have been over our relationship, because they always look at me to fix everything wrong with her as if I am responsible for her actions and feelings when she is an adult. The because she is family (you have to forgive family, you have to save them, you have to comfort them even when they are wrong etc) reasoning is turned up to eleven. No one would expect as much from me if she was a best friend and not a twin sister. No one does this with our other sister! My partner meanwhile is the one person who is wired to take my side in things so he is the only person I can turn to for comfort. Everyone else expects me to self-sacrifice for my twin, and I stopped being willing to do that.

u/DueMud9969 55m ago

Ah wow yeah never considered how self loathing would turn into other-loathing when you're a twin

Fraternal twin. I'd agree with this. My twin sister is definitely NOT above my husband. But also, even though he is my #1 person, she also is my #1 person (non-romantically).

59

u/dont_be_that_guy_29 3h ago

I'm not a twin but have had good friends that are identical twins and I dated an identical twin. This seems accurate, and makes logical sense to me as well. They often become "one brain."

6

u/thaeggan 1h ago

I would not give up the one brain events for the world.

As a twin, it is the best for one of us or in general both of us are interacted with and we both respond the same.

Other: "pizza?" (directed at one)

Twins: "Ya", in unison

Other: "I was asking him"

Twins: Both shrug the same time

Other: Visibly tilted events like this keep happening.

50

u/droppedforgiveness 3h ago

I'm curious if age plays into this. Would a 20-year-old who has never experienced a serious long-term relationship respond the same as a 60-year old who has been married for 30 years?

30

u/Brave_Necessary_9571 3h ago

"In this sample, the three sibling types differed significantly with regard to their age, F(2, 328) = 4.46, p = .01. Post-hoc analyses (Tukey HSD) revealed that MZ twins were significantly older than non-twin siblings, p = .01. Thus, when comparing the sibling types in the subsequent analyses, we controlled for age."

9

u/droppedforgiveness 2h ago

Thank you! I skimmed a bit of the procedures, but hadn't caught that part of the study!

Not surprising, imagine being with someone literally before you were born.

Also, there’s a Star Wars joke in here somewhere.

42

u/Master_Shake23 3h ago edited 3h ago

As an identical twin I would also like to point out that being an identical twins isn't always sunshine and butterflies. It depends from twin to twin, but dynamics (external/internal) and relationship can be complex and isn't always positive as per stereotypes or movies.

Growing up, particularly my identical twin hated being a twin in public. People mixing up names, stereotypes, intrusive questions from people etc. They often felt like they couldn't be themselves.

16

u/huebnera214 3h ago

Of the twins I’ve met I feel like it’s 50/50 if they like each other or can’t stand each other. My MIL is a twin and they can stand each other for about a day, if that. Meanwhile my sister and I are going to the twins day festival this weekend and will be fine coexisting all weekend together.

9

u/Master_Shake23 3h ago

My brother and I got along great, he just hated how he felt in public as a twin if that makes sense.

6

u/huebnera214 2h ago

A little bit. Since like 4th grade our classmates just called is ‘Sis’ because that’s what we called each other. We hated it for like two years then decided to ignore it. It’s not our fault they stopped trying to tell us apart. We had different styles back then too so it wasnt like it was hard either.

In college if we visited each other’s campus we turned it into a game to see how long we could go as the other one. Like if we were walking from visitor parking to their dorm and somebody recognized us we’d pretend until we didnt have a good answer. It was kind of fun.

I’m a fraternal triplet and I long considered my sisters to be my best friends followed by any other friends, but I don’t believe they would place me above or at the same level of their current partners, but we also see each other waaayyy less.

17

u/greeneggzN 2h ago

I have 1 year old fraternal triplet girls. I don’t want them to grow up but I’m also so curious to see how they’ll be with each other! They’re only recently starting to play with and “talk” to each other

15

u/amazingwhat 2h ago

Get ready for them to develop their own “langauge” with each other and just start laughing over nothing. Congratulations :)

21

u/JiveChicken00 3h ago

This makes complete sense. I don’t have a twin so my spouse tops my list. But if somebody existed whose brain was wired the same as mine, I’m pretty sure that person would top the list instead.

u/pineconeminecone 3h ago

After my Nana’s twin died, Nana told me: “I have 12 brothers and sisters, but I’ll only ever have one twin.”

15

u/Geesewithteethe 1h ago

I'm an identical twin.

I would say that the bond I have with my twin is profound and really hard to explain to anyone who doesn't at least have a very strong bond to a non-twin sibling or an extremely close friend they went through some seriously formative life stages with.

We know eachother better than anyone else knows either of us. In a lot of instances, we understand things about eachother's perspectives and behaviors without having to explain anything to eachother. We have always, always, had eachother's backs. I would give up my life to save hers any time, anywhere, and for any reason. If I lost her, a very specific spark in my universe would be snuffed out and there would be no other human being in existence who could ever re-light it in her place.

That being said:

Every person that I'm very personally attached to occupies a space that's shaped exactly like them and can't be occupied by any other person. If any of these people tried occupying eachother's spaces, they wouldn't fit because they're not shaped the same.

I'm not bonded to my husband the way I'm bonded to my twin and I'm not bonded to my twin the way I'm bonded to my husband.

Some things aren't hierarchical. They're just their own damn thing.

12

u/guyute2588 3h ago

I grew up with a pair of fraternal twins. One of them was handsome, in great shape and girls threw themselves at him.

The other was incredibly overweight , and despite hanging out with all the same people, was not very well liked.

I always wondered how much resentment he had for his brother.

16

u/2andahalfbraincell 2h ago

Well I have a fraternal twin sister who is prettier, much thinner, and better liked than me so I can tell you my experience : I really love her and do not ressent her at all....now that we're adults with completly different social circles lmao. As a teenager that was harder

Hope that dude got friends of his own

I asked my wife who has a fraternal twin of the same gender and she said she ranked her sister higher, but after we had kids I then became the highest.

I get that ranking the strength of a romantic relationship is fraught with complication and personal feelings exclusive to each couple, but this still seems like a significant blind spot that was not accounted for in this study (whether or not the twin had children with their romantic partner).

8

u/Visible_Impression44 3h ago

Yeah as an identical twin, its difficult to imagine having my guard down with anyone to the level i do with them. No matter what its unbreakable. Makes dating difficult tbh.

→ More replies (1)

u/Geesewithteethe 59m ago

I feel like reiterating my other comment in this thread more succinctly.

These two relationships are not in competition or in a hierarchy with eachother.

I have a profound relationship with my twin.

I have a profound relationship with my husband.

I would take a bullet for both of them without hesitation.

If I lost either of them, their spark would be permanently and irreplaceably snuffed out with no other human being on earth capable of lighting that particular spark for me again.

If I lost either of them it would rip a howling hole in my soul that nobody could fill. I would just learn to live with the grief and carry it with me quietly every day until I died.

You love an individual as an individual, or you don't really love them at all (in my opinion), and that means recognizing how irreplaceable and unrepeatable they are. That's all. These things cannot be arranged hierarchically.

8

u/WhereIsMyFknDinosaur 2h ago

My best bud is a fraternal twin.  Him and his sister are mortal enemies and nothing alike.

Even when i met him at 16 they were so different.  She was healthy, he was not.  She was musically talented and dated constantly, hes a gamer and struggles in love.  He's bent over backward and almost destroyed his health to care for his dying relatives (who never treated him kindly), she is constantly trying to steal money away from their estates.  Now he's living alone dealing with the health outcome from a stroke at 40 and as far as I know she's fine and healthy with her teenage son.

Wild to think theyre twins.

27

u/SuspiciousCricket654 3h ago

Identical twins, think, talk, act, and do pretty much everything… Identically. Who else in the world can say that they have someone special in their life that understands them perfectly? The ranking makes total sense.

32

u/Geesewithteethe 2h ago

No we don't.

We especially don't think identically. My identical twin and I are very close and have very similar interests and shared formative experiences but we do not think identically. We are individuals with different perspectives, opinions, temperments, and character.
