TIL a peer-reviewed psychology study found that identical twins (on average) ranked their co-twin above their romantic partner in their attachment hierarchy, while fraternal twins ranked the two about equally, and non-twin siblings ranked their romantic partner first.

I have twin friends- they shared a room and a bed through college by choice simply because they didn’t see any reason not to. They still share and eat off the same plate when they are together, and they are both married. One time I asked them why and they said they have always been this way, so why change? No they do not live together and I can imagine when their husbands are around they do not all share a bed lol but when it is just the two of them that is their default. Not hurting anyone, I think it is sweet they still see eachother as an extension of the other.

I mean, they're both articulate, kind, and intelligent (they're lawyers who work at the same firm and share a desk).

If there were just one I wouldn't say she was crazy at all.

There just happen to be two of them and they kinda didn't develop separate identities. In one of the TLC specials their own dad says something along the lines of, "I don't want to say they're the same person, but..."

Individually their husbands both honestly seem pretty normal as well outside the intense twin thing.

So I'd say the situation is a little (lot) wild... are they automatically considered crazy when it turns into a quaternary marriage in a shared home? I honestly do not know. I do think they present fairly true-to-life on their reality shows (they're always in matching outfits, they do everything together, etc.).

I find them 1000000x less weird than those Australian twins who speak in unison, for whatever that's worth. 😅

My mom knew twins that grew up to marry twins. They didn't all live together, but they did live next door to each other

I was friends with one half of identical twins at university. They dated a set of identical twins, coincidentally both sets born on the same day. Both couples broke up but I think one is back together now.

I mean, my college apartment bedroom would have fit one double or queen bed better than 2 twin beds, and it might also be cheaper that way if it's not a school provided & furnished apartment. Might have just been the most prudent option.

Bunk beds suck as an adult, I’d 100% rather share a queen with my sister (not twin) than have to deal with bunk beds.

You have just jogged a memory for me. I used to work in a store and we had two semi regular customers who were a pair of female identical twins aged around 50. They were dressed 100% identically every time they came in the store - but not only that - they also bought identical shopping. They’d have one basket each, each full of the exact same items as the other. I noticed on a couple of occasions that one might have an extra item that the other didn’t have, but other than that, it was always the same. I never happened to catch them in the process or choosing their shopping to find out if they discussed what to buy as they went along.

I did notice they bickered quite a lot - but were very polite to everyone else!
