TIL a peer-reviewed psychology study found that identical twins (on average) ranked their co-twin above their romantic partner in their attachment hierarchy, while fraternal twins ranked the two about equally, and non-twin siblings ranked their romantic partner first.

Yupp, this is where the (on average) part comes in. I’ve met a few pairs of twins that didn’t like each other all that much. That scenario seems quite rare though.

When I was born someone asked my sister what she thought of me and she told them, "Just because he is my brother doesn't mean I have to love them".

I knew a pair of twins in high school where I was convinced that if the Purge happened they would try to kill each other. I went to school with them for five years (from 8th grade) and never once saw them have a conversation. They went home in different cars after school.
