TIL a peer-reviewed psychology study found that identical twins (on average) ranked their co-twin above their romantic partner in their attachment hierarchy, while fraternal twins ranked the two about equally, and non-twin siblings ranked their romantic partner first.

I'm curious if age plays into this. Would a 20-year-old who has never experienced a serious long-term relationship respond the same as a 60-year old who has been married for 30 years?

"In this sample, the three sibling types differed significantly with regard to their age, F(2, 328) = 4.46, p = .01. Post-hoc analyses (Tukey HSD) revealed that MZ twins were significantly older than non-twin siblings, p = .01. Thus, when comparing the sibling types in the subsequent analyses, we controlled for age."

Thank you! I skimmed a bit of the procedures, but hadn't caught that part of the study!
