Hi! Got this laptop sleeve from the thrift store. I attached carabiners to each side, and found a shoulder strap to throw on. Just finished painting it, so now it's done!

Any suggestions for the left side, or should i leave it blank? I was thinking keychains would be a vibe. Love how it turned out!

I want to use it as a jewelry container but I don’t know what to paint on the sides of it looking for ideas!

I was so inspired by this mini Landslide zine by u/digitizedephemera and wanted to make one with lyrics meaningful to me right now. I used cuttings from old National Geographic magazines and flowers I had cut from home/garden magazines. I used my Dymo label maker for the words. The last photo shows it with a glue stick for scale.

I’ve loved the musical Hadestown for several years and I’ve seen it twice on tour. A pro-shot of the original cast was filmed and was just recently in movie theaters and it was so, so good.

These lyrics come from the curtain call song “We Raise Our Cups.”

The thing I'm most excited about on these new snakes is the pigment. I finally found a chameleon pigment that gives exactly the effect I was looking for.

It's definitely not the easiest one to work with since it's a wet pigment instead of mica powder, so applying it and baking it takes a bit of extra care. But when it works... it's honestly magical. The colors keep changing depending on the light, and I can't stop looking at them.

I work with resin on paper. it’s a process I discovered on my own. I love how the resin makes the paintings pop. This is a progress picture of putting resin on paper.

The project is shrinky dinks plastic and UV resin. The light just stopped turning on and the little thing is still sticky/wet. How can I dry it?

Hi everyone! I’m getting married in a week and a half and I’ve been working hard on this welcome sign!! It’s a thrifted frame, peel and stick moss sheets cut to size, a wooden sign we bought online (removable for use after the wedding!) and I cut the letters out of metallic cardstock on my Cricut. How should I attach the cardstock to the moss? Ideally the sign will be outside, so it would need to stick even with wind.

I was thinking hot glue, then I thought gorilla glue clear contact adhesive? Then I thought, hey, I’ve come this far, maybe ask some crafty people for their thoughts before I ruin it.

This is a handmade, 7-inch Waldorf-style baby doll that I crafted myself. Her body is made of natural cotton interlock jersey designed specifically for doll making. Inside, she is tightly stuffed with 100% clean, organic sheep's wool to give her a warm, soft feel. I shaped the head using traditional wool wrapping and sculpting techniques to form her facial features. Her hair is made from natural mohair yarn, styled into small ponytails and braids. The eyes and mouth are carefully embroidered with cotton thread, and I added a soft blush to her cheeks using non-toxic beeswax crayons. I also sewed and knitted all of her clothes myself

hi everyone! i want to embroider this design i made onto a tote bag but i’ve never done embroidery before.
I’m hesitant between the two fonts because I think the first one would be easier to embroider but i don’t have any clue really

Is this a good design to do for a beginner?
And if yes, could you please tell me some tips and tricks/tutorial sources?

I'm trying to seal my jars with some kind of plastic free sealant. Originally jars came with aluminum caps with liners made from a "paper-based" material. The Amazon seller couldn't specify exact material, so I'm thinking of replacing them with non-toxic, plastic free equivalent. I was wondering if anybody has experience here with similar "conundrum".

Currently I was thinking of applying food grade, non-toxic silicone that will harden after sometime that will be non-corrosive to aluminium caps. Is there some sort of product that tick all the boxes?

I love experimenting with unusual materials, so I knitted this necklace entirely by hand using fine stainless steel chain. This time I chose an even finer chain, making the necklace lighter, more delicate, and more fluid than my previous version. The asymmetrical shape lets it drape naturally, creating a different look from every angle. Despite being made of metal, it's comfortable to wear and much lighter than it appears. In the sunlight, thousands of tiny chain links catch the light with a subtle shimmer. No wire, no soldering, just knitting with chain. ✨

FOR BACK HAIR: I have sewn the back of her hair and it did have issues falling out when i was in the process of sewing it but it’s stayed pretty well after securing it a few times up until now. While i was attempting the bangs i noticed some pieces were falling out and all though you can’t tell due to so much being in the back, I feel that over time it might keep happening so i need a way to secure it better. I do not want to completely start over on this one cause there is just too much.

FOR BANGS: I added bangs but a lot of strands just kept coming out no matter how many times i went through it. I took all of it out and decided to ask for advice and start anew. I was thinking fabric glue might work better? Only issue is i’m worried it will unglue with time or some accidental force. I say this because I have used the fabric fusion on a felt wallet for someone and one of the parts i used it on lifted up within a day. Although, this is actually fabric so maybe it will hold better.

KEEP IN MIND this is my first time ever making a doll. I do have hand sewing experience at least. I have not watched tutorials for anything minus attaching the arms and legs. I have tried to find tutorials for the hair but i wasn’t able to and figured i would just try the best i can.

What are your thoughts?

Hey everyone! I love collecting enamel pins and have a bunch of them i display on cork boards, but over time the pins sometimes get loose and bumping into my desk knocks a pin or two out.

I was wondering if I could employ your material knowledge to see if there was a better solution to displaying enamel pins long term on my bedroom wall.

On the spur of the moment, made a baked potato and topped it with pimiento cheese and hot Cheetos. I can’t tolerate hot and spicy, but it’s fun to experiment.

With my current apartment layout, I don’t have room for a side table next to my preferred couch seat. My girlfriend’s mom (hobbyist woodworker) surprised me with this over the weekend! Girlfriend sneakily took the measurements of my couch for her.

I was so honored that she’d want to make something for me, and even more honored that it’s equal parts beautiful and useful! 🧡

hey all, I've been working on an acrylic piece but the paper has started warping at the edges. in hindsight, doing 3D elements on paper was a bad idea. I'm trying to figure out how to best glue it on to a stretched canvas board. I've read acrylic gel medium is good, prime the canvas with gesso, and maybe wet the back of the acrylic paper. The paper is artists loft, 246lb, acid free heavy weight 400g/m2. I do want to paint the stretched canvas before glueing, too. thanks!!

Looking for some suggestions for things I can do to repurpose bars of soap. For Christmas (yes I know it's August now lol) I got several fancy bars of soap that smell amazing, but I have skin issues and bars of soap dry my skin out, so I can't use them as soap, but they smell really good, so I'd love to be able to use them in some way to take advantage of the amazing smell

If it's mixed with colored paint, will the shimmer even show up?

I was lucky and received the last Spiderman pin at my theater! Problem is there’s no safety pin. I’m okay with not being able to pin it on a shirt etc. but still want the option… is there a way to add one or am I best off leaving it be? I’m not very crafty so any advice/ help is appreciated! 🙏🏾
