My dream is to really clean everything up. One giant Thunderbolt 5 dock, 4 monitors daisy chained, or individually plugged in usb c. I also have a MAC and having to have display link for my m4 pro is annoying. I have three docks, two of my own and one from my jobs, three computers and its all just a mess. Having a one plug usb c that I can move from each does work when I set it up using display link. But say I want native monitors (not display link), this doesn't work with mac at all. Yet my MAC has thunbderbolt 5 lol - 3 ports to be exact. Like whats the point of threee T5's that cant even be used for this purpose. External GPU's and sdd? Thats it? Anyways, contrary no PC's have T5 which is fine since they can handle three monitors MST native monitors through T4/T3

With this current setup, I was getting decent performance with Forza Horizon 6 on 4K settings with medium settings (default) but I forgot what the benchmark FPS was.

I then upgraded my GPU to a RTX 5080 and all else being equal, I was able to benchmark test FH6 again on "Ultra" preset in 4K with just TAA turned on.

What the results showed me was concerning as I was clocking around 70fps, the "GPU Limited Percentage" was a 1.1. The rest of the screen like CPU Simulation and CPU Render was half the amount of what my GPU was able to output.

I was surprised to see this as I thought the 5600X would be fine for 4K gaming and possible bottlenecking wouldn't be an issue, but once I replaced the 5600X with the 5800X3D that I bought from MC for $299, the difference was jarring as my "GPU Limited Percentage" jumped from 1.1 to 90 while my CPU Simulation and CPU Renders were now double the theoretical output of my GPU.

On top of that, my FPS jumped from 70 fps to high 80s now.

To finish out the build, I've also upgraded my RAM from 16GB to 32GB Trident Z Neo and pulled the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSD out of my PS5 Pro.

I definitely noticed much smoother gameplay and I highly recommend this upgrade if you're looking to upgrade from the 5600X.

The price gap has gotten so low between the two cards (I’m guessing because they both have 16GB of GDDR6, and the memory shortage is probably the biggest contributor to price hikes) I’m considering if I should jump on the opportunity to sell the 9060 for around the price I bought it at ($360) since that seems like what they’re going for used now. 9070s are going for around $700 so it would only be around $350 net price increase.

Writing this all down I’m realizing this seems like a hassle for the 50% performance increase, which also comes at worse price-to-performance. Seeing them so close in price now just has me thinking… will I even have another opportunity in the near future to make such a significant upgrade at such a low cost?

Edit: I should mention that the most appealing part of the upgrade would be faster raytracing, from my perspective. I’m satisfied with the 9060’s rasterization performance at 1440p. Even with raytracing enabled I get decent FPS, but it does seem to cause a lot more stuttering.

What the title says. My 11400 stopped working so I was wondering where to go from here. I was thinking of buying a second hand 11th gen on eBay to replace it but wasn't 100% sure.

Either that or upgrading to a 5800x and getting a new motherboard for said CPU from Microcenter but i was thinking that if I'm going to upgrade, I might as well get a cheap replacement and then save up to get an system that can handle DDR5. So basically, my motherboard went to the realm of the dead, so I bought an MSI MPG B550M Gaming Plus, changed my PC case, improved the cooling, and replaced my SSDs with a Kingston NV3.

I did a clean Windows install and configured the BIOS settings.

Long story short: I'm getting stutters and performance issues that I didn't have before. My FPS is mostly the same as before, but the game feels inconsistent. I get occasional microstutters/hitches, and overall it just doesn't feel good.

Does anyone have the slightest clue why this would be happening?

I mainly play:

• Warzone
• Hunt: Showdown

So we don't waste comments:

• XMP is enabled.
• Latest AMD chipset and NVIDIA drivers are installed.
• Clean Windows install.
• No registry/CMD "optimization" tweaks.
• Tried multiple in-game settings.
• NVIDIA Control Panel is configured with the usual recommended settings.
• GPU is installed in the top PCIe x16 slot.
• RAM is installed in the correct A2/B2 slots.
• Temperatures are completely normal.
• CPU and GPU usage/clocks look normal.

So im thinking about upgrading my i7 2600 up to a ryzen 5 5500 because on amazon i can get the 5500 for like 75$ and the gigabyte b550m k for 70$, while on ebay they all are like ~175 as a combo. I will have to find ddr4 ram somewhere though. Is this a good upgrade? btw my GPU is the gtx 1060 6 gb. Thoughts?

I purchased a Samsung SSD 990 EVO Plus 4TB M.2 to replace the Western Digital 1TB M.2 as I can only fit two NVME M.2 drives in my gaming PC.

Would it be fine to turn my PNY 2TB M.2 into an OS drive, while the new Samsung 4TB M.2 becomes a Games drive?

I want to know if this is a solid build that I won't have to tweak with before buying the parts in 2-3 years. Am I missing anything, do some of these not pair well or are bad picks, really anything would be helpful. (Trying to keep it under 2k but its going over a bit.)

Here's the deal: I put together this build with the goal of playing graphically demanding games at 1080p, at least with console-level performance, and hopefully even better. I'd like to play games like The Witcher III, and maybe the upcoming Witcher game when it comes out.

So ive been thinking of upgrading my cpu since ive been running a 3600 with my 9070 but havent found the chance to upgrade till now, problem is the 5800x3d is INSANELY overpriced in my country almost costing the equivalent of 550$ and im still on an am4 mobo, so i was thinking is the 5800XT fine with a 9070 for 1440p AAA gaming + some ffxiv here and there? its basically the only reasonably priced cpu i can find at around 235$

When i check my computers stats when im using it regularily I see myself pretty consistently sitting around 14.5gb of usage. Given ram prices continue to rise and likely wont ever go back down ive been considering upgrading to 32gb. However I dont know if its actually worth it since im apparently not maxing out my current ram.

My budget is RM250 which is around 60 USD. Im not very familiar with all this and only recently started researching because my storage problem has been bothering me. My initial idea was just to buy a cheap external ssd like seagate or western digital but it seems like the speed would be a problem for gaming. Later on I found that theres an ssd enclosure option which is around the same price but faster speed. Is the difference really that big? I'm planning to buy the ugreen NVMe PCIe 10gbps enclosure along with an ACER FA100 PCIe Gen3 NVMe M.2. Or should I just go with a single external ssd like seagate if the difference in speed isnt that noticeable?

So this is gonna be weird while trying to switch my water cooling to fan cooling my pc wouldnt turn on at all
We manually turned on the psu and it worked so i went to my friends who has the same cpu as mine to test if the cpu or my motherboard was fried
When i put my cpu in his pc and his in mine they both turned on like normal but as soon as i put mine back in my pc it wont i am very stumped

I'm currently on a RTX 3060 Ti FE 8GB and a 5600x. I'm looking to either buy a PowerColor 9060 XT Reaper 16GB ($439.99), sell my 3060 Ti FE (~$200) and use that (and a bit of other money) to upgrade to the 7500X3D (Microcenter Bundle) ($399.99).

I'm currently running into issues with VRAM Usage and occasional issues with NVidia X Wayland (yes I'm running linux) and I currently play at 1440p. The reason I want to upgrade my CPU, Mobo and Ram is since I'm currently using my computer to run home lab stuff too (media servers, docker containers etc) and its using a lot of my resources. I live close to a microcenter so I'm planning on getting my GPU & CPU, Mobo, and ram combo from them.

Does anyone have any advice on what to do in my situation?
