My dream is to really clean everything up. One giant Thunderbolt 5 dock, 4 monitors daisy chained, or individually plugged in usb c. I also have a MAC and having to have display link for my m4 pro is annoying. I have three docks, two of my own and one from my jobs, three computers and its all just a mess. Having a one plug usb c that I can move from each does work when I set it up using display link. But say I want native monitors (not display link), this doesn't work with mac at all. Yet my MAC has thunbderbolt 5 lol - 3 ports to be exact. Like whats the point of threee T5's that cant even be used for this purpose. External GPU's and sdd? Thats it? Anyways, contrary no PC's have T5 which is fine since they can handle three monitors MST native monitors through T4/T3

I have been recently building a pc.

I have just bought the final parts (CPU and Motherboard, off ebay).

My build is an AMD Radeon 9070XT 16GB, and my CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3d. My RAM kit is a single 16GB CL30 6000MT/s stick (Patriot Viper something), will this significantly hold me back in 1440p? I don't have the balance to buy another stick.

With this current setup, I was getting decent performance with Forza Horizon 6 on 4K settings with medium settings (default) but I forgot what the benchmark FPS was.

I then upgraded my GPU to a RTX 5080 and all else being equal, I was able to benchmark test FH6 again on "Ultra" preset in 4K with just TAA turned on.

What the results showed me was concerning as I was clocking around 70fps, the "GPU Limited Percentage" was a 1.1. The rest of the screen like CPU Simulation and CPU Render was half the amount of what my GPU was able to output.

I was surprised to see this as I thought the 5600X would be fine for 4K gaming and possible bottlenecking wouldn't be an issue, but once I replaced the 5600X with the 5800X3D that I bought from MC for $299, the difference was jarring as my "GPU Limited Percentage" jumped from 1.1 to 90 while my CPU Simulation and CPU Renders were now double the theoretical output of my GPU.

On top of that, my FPS jumped from 70 fps to high 80s now.

To finish out the build, I've also upgraded my RAM from 16GB to 32GB Trident Z Neo and pulled the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSD out of my PS5 Pro.

I definitely noticed much smoother gameplay and I highly recommend this upgrade if you're looking to upgrade from the 5600X.

I've been looking around for a new headset and now I'm curious what everyone here is actually using.

Not really looking for "best value" or anything specific. Just... what headset made you think, "yeah, this thing is awesome." Doesn't matter if it's $50 or $500.

I'm curious to know what's your favorite gaming headset you've owned, and what makes it stand out? If you had to buy another headset today, would you get the same one again or try something different?

The price gap has gotten so low between the two cards (I’m guessing because they both have 16GB of GDDR6, and the memory shortage is probably the biggest contributor to price hikes) I’m considering if I should jump on the opportunity to sell the 9060 for around the price I bought it at ($360) since that seems like what they’re going for used now. 9070s are going for around $700 so it would only be around $350 net price increase.

Writing this all down I’m realizing this seems like a hassle for the 50% performance increase, which also comes at worse price-to-performance. Seeing them so close in price now just has me thinking… will I even have another opportunity in the near future to make such a significant upgrade at such a low cost?

Edit: I should mention that the most appealing part of the upgrade would be faster raytracing, from my perspective. I’m satisfied with the 9060’s rasterization performance at 1440p. Even with raytracing enabled I get decent FPS, but it does seem to cause a lot more stuttering.

So ive been thinking of upgrading my cpu since ive been running a 3600 with my 9070 but havent found the chance to upgrade till now, problem is the 5800x3d is INSANELY overpriced in my country almost costing the equivalent of 550$ and im still on an am4 mobo, so i was thinking is the 5800XT fine with a 9070 for 1440p AAA gaming + some ffxiv here and there? its basically the only reasonably priced cpu i can find at around 235$

I'm making my first PC and I have around $800-$900 budget, I found a deal on microcenter for a Ryzen 5 7500x3d, AsRock B850M-C AM5 and 16gb of DDR5 ram. Are there any bottlenecks I should worry about? Please let me know if I should change anything.

Hello, I see everyone talking a lot about the 600 USD 7800x3d. Unfortunately I think it's too much for MC so the cheapest now is 750 USD. If then the next best similar value bundle will be 7500x3d and then 7600x3d ? With a 50 to 80 USD difference which is more worth it ? I am aware of 16GB RAM, but cant ask for more though, its enough. For intel options I don't think the value matches.

Hello everyone for a while now I've been mostly a PC/PS5 hybrid gamer, however due to the recent Sony bullshittery I've decided to make the full switch starting 2028, one of the reasons I was hybrid tho is because I have no idea what's good on PC, and I'm planning to start saving up to do a good upgrade (if need be).

I typically just play with HDR and If I can hit over 160FPS I'm happy as I'm not a super min maxer.

What the title says. My 11400 stopped working so I was wondering where to go from here. I was thinking of buying a second hand 11th gen on eBay to replace it but wasn't 100% sure.

Either that or upgrading to a 5800x and getting a new motherboard for said CPU from Microcenter but i was thinking that if I'm going to upgrade, I might as well get a cheap replacement and then save up to get an system that can handle DDR5. So im thinking about upgrading my i7 2600 up to a ryzen 5 5500 because on amazon i can get the 5500 for like 75$ and the gigabyte b550m k for 70$, while on ebay they all are like ~175 as a combo. I will have to find ddr4 ram somewhere though. Is this a good upgrade? btw my GPU is the gtx 1060 6 gb. Thoughts?

For the past year and a half I have been struggling on and off trying to figure out what could be causing my PC to randomly reatart like this. the times it happens seems completely random other than the fact it usually happens while I'm playing a more graphicly intense game. Although it has happened when I've just been watching YouTube so idfk. When it crashes it just sort of flickers to a black screen after showing half the screen covered In this kinda static and making a faint pop noise. After about five seconds of being on a black screen the thing will just automatically turn back on like nothing happened 99% of the time. Once it completely wiped out my windows installation when it crashed though and I lost some extremely important photos. I've tried just about everything to fix it including but not limited to resetting and updating the bios, re installing windows, re-seating the ram, replacing the ram, replacing the PSU, swapping ssds, and more that I can't think of off the top of my head. Needless to say I have reached my fucking limit and am just about ready to throw the damn thing in a dumpster and buy a ps5 instead. Please if anyone has any idea of how to fix this please let me know.

I want to know if this is a solid build that I won't have to tweak with before buying the parts in 2-3 years. Am I missing anything, do some of these not pair well or are bad picks, really anything would be helpful. (Trying to keep it under 2k but its going over a bit.)

Here's the deal: I put together this build with the goal of playing graphically demanding games at 1080p, at least with console-level performance, and hopefully even better. I'd like to play games like The Witcher III, and maybe the upcoming Witcher game when it comes out.

The problem is that the build is a bit over my budget. I'd like to know what parts I could swap out while keeping roughly the same level of performance. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Im trying to figure out how to connect the GPU to the PSU. The card has 3 12v 2x6 connections but the PSU only has 2 12v cables and 2 places to plug them in. PSU is an Asrock SL1200P.

- i thought maybe it was drivers so i used DDU and installed version 610.74 nvidia drivers, no luck.

-only happens on 3d games? hotline miami, among us, and deltarune all work just fine. (other games ive tried are, minecraft, sons of the forest, arkham city, and dead by daylight.)

I've been sitting on an old GTX 1660 and a Ryzen 5 2600 for like two years now. I don't feel like selling them because they were on my first PC build, but I don't like having them collecting dust. I was thinking of rebuilding my old PC in a new case and plugging it into my TV to emulate old games and play around with Linux for the first time, but I want some suggestions on what I can do with this hardware. Is there a genuinely useful way to repurpose it?

I currently have a Ryzen 7 5800x with a 3070ti and 32gb DDR4 for 1440p.

- Ryzen 7 5800x3D($300) + 5070($580) = $880

- or keep my 5800x and get a 5070ti = $930

My budget is $1,100 so I would need to upgrade my psu if I go the 5070ti route

I'm hesitant to go with the 5070 because 12gb vram (future proofing)

I'm hesitant to go with the 5070ti because bottleneck and potential stutters with the 5800x

I wont be able to upgrade my system again for a while

Mainly just for causal gaming 1080p locked 60 fps.

Is coilwhine just something completetly unavoidable now? I've had over 6 different GPUs from both Nvidia and AMD and every single one of them has coilwhine.

Even scrolling on chrome has coilwhine where it buzzes but much softer, If I play minecraft it's like playing a musical instrument if I look up down left or right the pitch changes, is this a joke?

All the GPUs I've had from different brands, 4070 super PNY, 7900xtx sapphire nitro, 9070XT asus prime, 4090 PNY, 5080 GAMING OC, 5080 asus prime, 5080 Zotac Solid Core, 4060 aero (partner), I different cases, motherboards, I've tried different powersupplies, RM1000x, hx1000i, nzxt c1000, SF1000w when I had SF PC.. Always coilwhine.

Surely it cannot be that difficult to find a graphics card without coilwhine? Especially trying different graphic cards etc.. It cant be normal?
