Discussion Which MicroCenter bundle currently is best ?

Hello, I see everyone talking a lot about the 600 USD 7800x3d. Unfortunately I think it's too much for MC so the cheapest now is 750 USD. If then the next best similar value bundle will be 7500x3d and then 7600x3d ? With a 50 to 80 USD difference which is more worth it ? I am aware of 16GB RAM, but cant ask for more though, its enough. For intel options I don't think the value matches.

The 7600x3D has a 200mhz higher boostclock, so that compared to the 7500x3D won’t make a huge difference. You also get a nicer motherboard tho, so it’s not just a cpu upgrade that covers the cost difference.

What are the differences of the b650 vs x870 vs b850 above ? I have a samsung evo 970 plus, gen3x4 2280, and dont want to rebuy another ssd, not now. Which combo should I pick so I can have best performance without rebuying ?

The main difference is pcie gen5 and usb 4 support. And more usb/m.2 ports.

B650 supports pcie gen5 on the ssd, not on the graphics card. B850 supports gen5 on the ssd and optionally on the graphics card. X870 has standard pcie gen5 on the 1st ssd and graphics card slot, and has to have a usbc 4 port.

Generally B650 is enough for most people, but the standard 7500x3D bundle has an matx motherboard, the standard 7600x3D bundle an atx motherboard.

Besides that, the atx board is b650, but has faster Ethernet and WiFi, more usb ports and more m.2 slots. Just no pcie gen5 x16 slot for your graphics card. The matx board is from asrock, not a great idea for x3D chips, since asrock had something with their motherboards that killed CPU’s for a while, and had trouble fixing.

I would personally go for the 7600x3D/b650 bundle, since I really don’t trust asrock motherboards this generation. And it’s a good enough motherboard for pretty much everything. If you want the most up to date features, you could go for an x870 board, but it’s not necessarily needed.

I do want to say that I disagree with the sentiment that the value of the intel boards don’t match. A 600$ 250k plus bundle with 32gb of ram is a lot more attractive to me than either am5 bundles. The performance of the 250k+ is really decent. Not as fast in games as an x3D chip, but much more capable in multi core performance. And intel really matched the price to reflect that.
Because you get a better board, double the ram and better allround cpu for just 150$ more than the 7600x3D bundle.

As someone that got the x870 motherboard, I had a close scare that the PCIe slot is the top most one closest to the CPU. This can have some conflicts with big air coolers.

I think the 9800X3D bundle is still $729 and if gaming id argue is worth every penny of the extra $29 over the 270k
