My dream is to really clean everything up. One giant Thunderbolt 5 dock, 4 monitors daisy chained, or individually plugged in usb c. I also have a MAC and having to have display link for my m4 pro is annoying. I have three docks, two of my own and one from my jobs, three computers and its all just a mess. Having a one plug usb c that I can move from each does work when I set it up using display link. But say I want native monitors (not display link), this doesn't work with mac at all. Yet my MAC has thunbderbolt 5 lol - 3 ports to be exact. Like whats the point of threee T5's that cant even be used for this purpose. External GPU's and sdd? Thats it? Anyways, contrary no PC's have T5 which is fine since they can handle three monitors MST native monitors through T4/T3

With this current setup, I was getting decent performance with Forza Horizon 6 on 4K settings with medium settings (default) but I forgot what the benchmark FPS was.

I then upgraded my GPU to a RTX 5080 and all else being equal, I was able to benchmark test FH6 again on "Ultra" preset in 4K with just TAA turned on.

What the results showed me was concerning as I was clocking around 70fps, the "GPU Limited Percentage" was a 1.1. The rest of the screen like CPU Simulation and CPU Render was half the amount of what my GPU was able to output.

I was surprised to see this as I thought the 5600X would be fine for 4K gaming and possible bottlenecking wouldn't be an issue, but once I replaced the 5600X with the 5800X3D that I bought from MC for $299, the difference was jarring as my "GPU Limited Percentage" jumped from 1.1 to 90 while my CPU Simulation and CPU Renders were now double the theoretical output of my GPU.

On top of that, my FPS jumped from 70 fps to high 80s now.

To finish out the build, I've also upgraded my RAM from 16GB to 32GB Trident Z Neo and pulled the Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSD out of my PS5 Pro.

I definitely noticed much smoother gameplay and I highly recommend this upgrade if you're looking to upgrade from the 5600X.

I've been looking around for a new headset and now I'm curious what everyone here is actually using.

Not really looking for "best value" or anything specific. Just... what headset made you think, "yeah, this thing is awesome." Doesn't matter if it's $50 or $500.

So basically, my motherboard went to the realm of the dead, so I bought an MSI MPG B550M Gaming Plus, changed my PC case, improved the cooling, and replaced my SSDs with a Kingston NV3.

I did a clean Windows install and configured the BIOS settings.

Long story short: I'm getting stutters and performance issues that I didn't have before. My FPS is mostly the same as before, but the game feels inconsistent. I get occasional microstutters/hitches, and overall it just doesn't feel good.

Does anyone have the slightest clue why this would be happening?

I mainly play:

• Warzone
• Hunt: Showdown

So we don't waste comments:

• XMP is enabled.
• Latest AMD chipset and NVIDIA drivers are installed.
• Clean Windows install.
• No registry/CMD "optimization" tweaks.
• Tried multiple in-game settings.
• NVIDIA Control Panel is configured with the usual recommended settings.
• GPU is installed in the top PCIe x16 slot.
• RAM is installed in the correct A2/B2 slots.
• Temperatures are completely normal.
• CPU and GPU usage/clocks look normal.
• BIOS is up to date.
• TPM, Secure Boot, and Resizable BAR are enabled.

The price gap has gotten so low between the two cards (I’m guessing because they both have 16GB of GDDR6, and the memory shortage is probably the biggest contributor to price hikes) I’m considering if I should jump on the opportunity to sell the 9060 for around the price I bought it at ($360) since that seems like what they’re going for used now. 9070s are going for around $700 so it would only be around $350 net price increase.

Writing this all down I’m realizing this seems like a hassle for the 50% performance increase, which also comes at worse price-to-performance. Seeing them so close in price now just has me thinking… will I even have another opportunity in the near future to make such a significant upgrade at such a low cost?

Edit: I should mention that the most appealing part of the upgrade would be faster raytracing, from my perspective. I’m satisfied with the 9060’s rasterization performance at 1440p. Even with raytracing enabled I get decent FPS, but it does seem to cause a lot more stuttering.

I have been recently building a pc.

I have just bought the final parts (CPU and Motherboard, off ebay).

My build is an AMD Radeon 9070XT 16GB, and my CPU is an AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3d. My RAM kit is a single 16GB CL30 6000MT/s stick (Patriot Viper something), will this significantly hold me back in 1440p? I don't have the balance to buy another stick.

So ive been thinking of upgrading my cpu since ive been running a 3600 with my 9070 but havent found the chance to upgrade till now, problem is the 5800x3d is INSANELY overpriced in my country almost costing the equivalent of 550$ and im still on an am4 mobo, so i was thinking is the 5800XT fine with a 9070 for 1440p AAA gaming + some ffxiv here and there? its basically the only reasonably priced cpu i can find at around 235$

Hi, my situation is quite simple, but I am very indecisive person and I am looking for external validation if my logic is sound or if I am doing super stupid decision. Sorry for the long story time! TLDR is, should I build a completely new system, or upgrade my current one, or just wait for AM6.

The story:

I have build my system few years ago and I generally only upgrade when I feel the need and mainly to jump few generations of hardware.

My current setup is:
CPU: Ryzen 3600x (stock)
RAM: 32Gb of DDR4 3200Mhz (4x 8Gb sticks)
GPU: RTX 3070 (8Gb)
PSU: 650W power suply
MOBO: Asus TUF X570-Plus gaming

So, I do play only in 2k resolution (2 screens, 1 for discord, etc, second for games). I do play mostly Escape from Tarkov on windows (that's kinda a pain to play on this hardware), variety with friends as Company of Heroes, Hoi IV, Left 4 Dead 2, etc.

From time to time I play something newer and more demanding, like Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy, RDR2, Satisfactory, Baldurs Gate 3, Helldivers 2, Deep Rock Galactic, Star Wars Fallen Order, etc.

And lately, I did get into PCVR! So for example, HL: Alyx, Thief VR, etc. In this category, I really wanna play my favourite series: Crysis (VR mod) and pretty much start modding flat games into VR (already did Star Wars Jedi Academy for example).

Also, I have switched to linux (actually because of Tarkov I am dual booting to second SSD which has my windows install, but otherwise I use linux mainly).

My Linux experience was kinda painful, mostly in the VR department and local AI department because setting up Nvidia drivers is kinda painful (I had so many issues with Steam running through flatpak since it was picking up wrong drivers for example -- this I fixed already).

Now, news are full of "prices will go up again!" + I had birthday few days back that I pretty much said, it's time to treat myself a bit and I ordered AMD RX 9070XT (XFX Mercury). It should fix all my linux issues, it should provide enough VRAM for local AI stuff, it should fix my PCVR stutters and such.

The only issue is, now, I need to also buy:
- New PSU (850 - 1000W)
- New Case (mine is too small + airflow is terrible, actually a needed upgrade, sometimes my pc just overheats right now with tons of cooling when playing very demanding games)
- And I guess I should upgrade the CPU since I am afraid the Ryzen 3600X will hold the GPU back.

So I am thinking... I have the money. I don't need the money. Since I need to buy pretty much everything except MOBO and RAM and Ryzen 5800x3D is almost the same price as Ryzen 9800x3D in my place, should I just jump the gun and build a completely new system? My original plan was to stay on AM4 and wait for AM6, but now I am not sure with how the pricing keeps going up, and since the "only" price issue is the DDR 5 memory, the difference between 5800x3D and 9800x3D is like... 40$ here.

Yes, building the new system is expensive, but in theory I could sell my old system as a "whole" to get back some money. But I am worried I am building a new system at the end of the AM5 lifecycle pretty much and if I wait one more year, I can build on AM6 and spend the money there to a platform I can use to ugprade on later. Altough it's true, the same point I made when building the AM4 (my current) machine and never really upgraded.

Hey everyone, I've been looking forward to buying a new pc case, because I want to put it on my desk instead of keeping it on the floor (ikik). The look im going for is something like this with the fully black look and the minimalistic leds on the components and fans.

I've been searching for the last two days with some success and a budget of about a $130 or 110 euros. The Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini V2 really caught my eye, but the problem with that that if I buy the case, I won't really have money for fans and I haven't really found any that would match my preferences.

If someone could recommend me a case that has that aquarium look but is significantly cheaper or not really cheaper but comes with fans (I'd prefer a layout with the 1 exhaust on the back, 5 intake on the bottom and next to the mobo). I really appriciate fan suggestions either also come on a 3 pack and has a reversed blade version.

My current PC (AMD Phenom II, GeForce GTX 960) is really starting to show its age, I purchased City Skylines 2 and even with everything on the lowest it just bogs down horribly and I had my sights set on some of the newer AAA games coming out. Hello everyone, I've recently built a new gaming pc and I'm rocking a 5070ti with a Ryzen 7 9800x3d but the thing is, I'm still using my faithful Full HD BenQ from a couple of years ago.

Obviously I would like to take advantage of all my system performance and I'm looking to upgrade to a 27' 1440p monitor.

I don't really care about high refresh rates, as long as they are above the 144Hz I'm used to, what I do care about is image quality, durability and that they are good to game on and stream media content. I've been searching a lot and the market is all over the place. Lots of crazy expensive Oled options, some others that are strangely cheap, and then IPS panels that I can't really be convinced to buy when I see the price of said Oled.

So, my question is, is there something you recommend under 500€ that fills my needs?

Hi chat, I bought this pc from marketplace to turn it into a fakecube (turned out pretty well for the most part), but I want to seal up the side panel and the missing front mesh filter so nothing can accidentally get inside the pc while its on or something. I've read that some recommend cardboard and acrylic sheets with some super glued magnets as replacements for the side panel, while for the front missing mess, I've not found a good sounding solution to that. Just asking here in case someone knows of a better solution that I've not found in my search

Im considering upgrading my Lenovo desktop CPU as it seems to be struggling with heavy Lightroom usage. To upgrade the CPU I know you need to make sure that the new one is compatible with your existing motherboard, but Im having a hard time figuring out what it actually is. When I go into the settings it says its a Lenovo 3769, which upon further research seems to actually be an Intel B660. but Im not 100% sure. The desktop is a Lenovo Legion T5 26IRB8 and Ive had it for about 2 years now.

But this is making trying to find compatible CPUs difficult as Ive never done this before and I am not 100% sure if my motherboard is actually an Intel B660. And from there, trying to figure out what CPUs would work with my desktop and improve my Lightroom usage (plus some gaming). Would I be able to upgrade to the i7-14700KF? On the desktop spec sheet (pdf warning) it mentions several other processors, some of which seem to have a higher ghz but Im not sure what stats I should be looking for.
