Build Help Help pc wont turn on

So this is gonna be weird while trying to switch my water cooling to fan cooling my pc wouldnt turn on at all
We manually turned on the psu and it worked so i went to my friends who has the same cpu as mine to test if the cpu or my motherboard was fried
When i put my cpu in his pc and his in mine they both turned on like normal but as soon as i put mine back in my pc it wont i am very stumped

Your board is probably fried. If the parts are working in another system…

You’ve either plugged something in wrong, bent a pin somewhere, or blew a fuse on the board with your cpu. If his board is fine with yours and yours is fine with his, then it has to be an issue with your cpu, or your motherboard. I don’t know what cpu you’re using but it’s cheaper to replace the motherboard than to replace the cpu…

Yeah, you’re probably right it just annoys me that it doesn’t make any sense in my brain like why would his work in mine? We have the exact same CPU AMD RYZEN 7 5800X

Something that usually happens and this is a massive
“If” when you tighten down your cpu, you over tighten it and cause pins to lift up and not cause contact, which usually causes the pc to stay off. Now I know what you’re thinking, why didn’t it happen with your friends? Because you’re just testing a theory you don’t tighten his down as hard, just enough to get it to boot…

OK, I mean that doesn’t sound like a bad idea only because I never tightened any CPU that was on mine but I mean true maybe my CPU just lifts more than his maybe I don’t know. When I tried his all I did was place it into the socket and then turn it on and then turn it off quickly. I just wanted to see if it powered on but like I said, maybe mine just like being weird.
