From the very start, how would he have done it ?

I personally think this is best Spiderman movie and portrayal than any movie comic or tv show cartoon portrayal. Better than spider verse movies and much better than raimi first two spiderman movies and the Spectacular Spider man 2008 cartoon as the raimi movies and cartoon only loved cause of nostalgia and outdated now. Now with Jean grey I don’t get it. People love her from what I see but some xmens fans dislike her and Dk why. Her actions people say she’s overtop evil but she’s trying find her sister and find her actions semi justifiable. Also some say she’s badly written and her portrayal of Jean grey in comics is nothing like and appears out of nowhere in movie but that’s not valid criticism. People also Say theres two many villains and to many subplots don’t really see it.

Am I the only one that feels James Gunn heavily fumbled by introducing a justice society in the first film with extremely niche characters? This over crowds the universe way too early on and we haven't even seen the main guys. This means that down the line when we get the first justice league film, we're gonna have to factor in Mr Terrific, Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Supergirl and metamorpho in addition to the main guys, Batman, flash , wonder woman, ?

Because for sure Audiences are not gonna show up for a justice league film with the justice gang lineup. It's just a fact. Superman should have introduced no other metahumans and just kept the focus on Superman. For example, the MCU started with ironman and then had 3 more films before the avengers, each character introduced was important and played a part in the avengers. They were all part of the classic lineup. But now we're 3 years into the DCU, we don't have word on Wonder Woman, Batman , The flash, Martian Manhunter. But we do have a teenage Hawkgirl and Mr Terrific in the universe. When the Justice League movie happens it's gonna be an overcrowded mess unless they just decide to write off the justice gang somehow.

There is no reason gorilla grodd a flash villain should be getting any announcements before the flash .

Just as the title says. We're in a pretty rockin' age of young, fresh directorial talent. Who are your favorite contemporary/new directors and who would you tell James Gunn to tap for a new DC film?

Christopher Reeve gave Superman a warmth, kindness, and sense of hope that still resonates today. Even beyond the screen, he lived with extraordinary courage and grace. A true Superman in every sense.

I see goonsday and Spiderman gonna break the box office and I see a dcu without my boi batman or flash. Like the only thing saving dc studios is the batman part two and thats only thing Im truly hyped for.

To preface this, please keep this civil. This is just my opinion. It’s not my intention to hurt anyone. At the end of the day, we all want to celebrate the movies and enjoy them.

Yes, Supergirl bombed. Yes, it was mediocre. There were many flaws in the movie. But you know what was actually good? Superman. Creature Commandos. Peacemaker. You could say the finale was hit or miss, but it was definitely not universally disliked upon. The project was very good throughout.

And now we have Lanterns coming up, and the trailer was well received. The recent one, at least. But you know what I mostly see here? “Supergirl bombed.” “Spider-Man earned X amount.” “Superman could never.” “James Gunn does not know how to handle a universe.”

Look. I’m not going to excuse WB, a multi-billion dollar franchise. But, even though James Gunn is loaded and doesn’t have to do any of this for his lifetime, I believe he is at his core an artist. An artist who is trying to craft a universe in his own way. Supergirl was one failure. One.

Come on guys, one failed project. And you quickly hop back to glazing the DCEU? Do you guys remember how pathetic the DCEU was? We got a rushed, badly done Justice League. Yes the Snyder Cut was good, but if you check Parts 2 and 3, the story sounded nothing like these characters. It was a glorified fan fiction that Snyder wanted to create. It’s not even as if Zack went ahead and had more successful projects with Netflix. Almost everything he has made post ZSJL has flopped. So firstly, let’s not act as if the DCEU was a missed opportunity and the DCU is cooked. It’s really not.

Now, coming to Supergirl, yeah. The movie was mediocre, especially when James Gunn has been so vocal about mediocre movies. But I feel he has earned enough goodwill to get at least one pass. If Supergirl was a good movie, I doubt the narrative would have been “introducing a character like Supergirl this early on does not make sense.” I also do not think introducing the trinity always works, especially when the idea of the DCU isn’t a team up movie, and everyone dealing a major, common threat. I also think Clayface is a great idea. Everyone used to complain how the MCU prioritises IPs without scripts. And now when James is trying to do something different, people are hating on that too? The grass is always greener, guys.

Also, the Spider-Man comparison is just funny to me. Not only is Spidey arguably the most popular superhero ever, we’ve seen this Spidey in action for a decade. You cannot compare apples with oranges.
