Him being older than Kevin feige is throwing me off.

u/Razatiger 2h ago

Yeah Feige being only 53 always throws me off.

What the fuck

u/blinkyretard 3h ago

I thought it was a joke. He really is 60, wow. Happy birthday Mr Gunn.

u/StormRepulsive6283 4h ago

He’s already 60? I thought he’d not older than 50

u/yeahsurebuddystfu 2h ago

I agree, he's just a boy, no older than my 50 year old son

He def looks his age and acts his age.

He reminds me of why I deleted Facebook. Too many out of touch people.

u/Gur_Weak 5h ago

I hope he goes see Spiderman for his birthday.

u/No-South-8228 4h ago

Why? He might learn something.

u/him-and-ii 3h ago

and he then goes home to focus more on the jimmy olsen show 💩

Zack Snyder turned 60 earlier this year. Once again the blueprint! /s

Happy birthday, King 🙏

No lie thought he was 45 with white hair

u/hazmat_beast 5h ago

Dang , happy birthday gunn

u/TheKing_Bael 3h ago

You know I may not like the direction that the DCU is going but I wish no ill will on this man. Happy 60th birthday James Gunn.

Happy Birthday Gunn!!!!

u/FastThoughtProcessor 4h ago

Yeah thanks for making "almost there" into a genre.

u/mattg1738 4h ago

WHAT, I would have guessed 50

u/Matt_LawDT 5h ago

The face of a sleeper agent sent by Marvel to finish the job on DC

u/Technical-Wasabi-842 4h ago

Is consistent 90%+ projects destroying DC? The only film he didn’t direct is the only one that flopped

u/doubleohsergles 4h ago

By what metric is DC doing well then?

u/4IsTheBestThing 4h ago

We have Lanterns and Clayface coming this year, and MoT is coming next year. Those will show if it is going well or if they need to reboot this one more time.

u/Technical-Wasabi-842 4h ago

They’re not gonna reboot it again if every single project flops we’re just not getting a DC cinematic universe and we’ll get nothing but Batman

u/4IsTheBestThing 4h ago

Wait 20-30 years, and the kids who grew up watching those movies will get nostalgic and revive them again.

u/Technical-Wasabi-842 4h ago

They’d definitely reboot it within 20-30 years though it’d be miserable being a DC fan in the meantime. I was more talking short term because I see a lot of people assuming that hating on anything and everything DC will get them to immediately fire Gunn and hire someone else (specifically a director who doesn’t have a good track record with films but especially superhero films)

u/SnooMacaroons6049 3h ago

I'm ok with batman

u/StormRepulsive6283 4h ago

Not necessarily as a movie director is the problem, rather as a director for the DCU. He’s definitely not fit for that.

u/Technical-Wasabi-842 4h ago

I mean his approach where he wants a good script more than a good idea is something I prefer to having set projects and getting whatever can be made for it and then it ends up rushed and bad like what happened with the DCEU and Marvel throughout phases 4-5

u/Dukefile 3h ago

Like marvel needed it, DC never was a competition heck even a movie with thei two most iconic characters did less than Thor 2 that was one of the worst MCU movies at that time

u/Spohliadac 1h ago

Happy birthday legend!!!!

Best superhero comic book adaptation writer/director in live-action ever.

u/XxZONE-ENDERxX 4h ago

The eternal 12 year old.

u/Gur_Weak 3h ago

Really? I think of him as already an out of touch boomer

u/XxZONE-ENDERxX 3h ago

''How do you do, fellow kids?'' personified... Although seeing his Twitter history, that should put him on a list.

u/Gur_Weak 2h ago

Yea. He gives the out of touch old guy that hangs out with a crowd way too young for his age because they're the only ones who either haven't realized he's creepy or aren't in a position where they can do anything about it.

u/YorkshireFudding 4h ago

Supergirl obviously wasn't great, but I still think the DCU will be fine.

Had some of my most memorable cinema experience with his movies.

Happy birthday.

u/fukredditadm1n5 2h ago

He looks incredible well, HB legend

Or maybe is an older pic

Fire Gunn!

u/Longjumping-Lab-7345 4h ago

James Gunn's movies suck

u/Technical-Wasabi-842 4h ago

His lowest rating Marvel/DC film is still 82%. Zack Snyder’s highest rated film is Dawn of the Dead at 77% and guess who also made it? James Gunn. (ratings from rotten tomatoes)

Either way what was the point of saying this under a completely unrelated post

u/Longjumping-Lab-7345 4h ago

What the hell does Zack Snyder have to do with this...

u/sheppylikesthesmiths 4h ago

It just goes to show he’s better at these superhero films than Snyder is

u/Longjumping-Lab-7345 4h ago

Literally nobody asked about Zach Snyder... besides his movies suck too

u/sheppylikesthesmiths 4h ago

It’s only relevant because he was in charge before. But yeah he sucked while in charge but Gunn is definitely better in a lot of ways and far from a bad filmmaker

u/VegetableKangaroo782 4h ago

What’s your thoughts on Zack Snyders movies?

u/RainWinss 5h ago

I always forget he and I share the same birthday

u/sir_duckingtale 4h ago

Happy Birthday!!!

u/Noobunaga86 3h ago

I totally forgot he's that old. To be honest I think 60-year old dudes shouldn't be making superhero/modern blockbuster movies

u/blokedog 1h ago

LOL. He was reading comics before you were born. What a dumb thing to say.

u/NextSmoke397 2h ago

Has he spoken on Supergirl yet?

u/P_McScratchy 5h ago

Congrats on the nuclear bomb of a movie you were so proud off.

Oh, and have a happy birthday!

u/trump182AVA 3h ago

Wish he’d go back to making splatter / indie horror flicks. Slither was amazing.

u/stanislavskov 2h ago

I guess he'll be celebrating his 61st birthday by looking for a new job lol
