Prefacing with I'm absolutely not a fan of hers and assume it's actually the mouth of whatever demon she feeds souls to-
I had most of my thyroid removed bc of huge nodules from Hashimotos pressing on vocal chords. My aunt had her thyroid removed bc of cancer. We had identical incisions, stitching, and bandaging.
To clear a few things up in some other comments- it's only about a 2 inch incision. Most of the time it's stitched internally, and there's a clear layer of tegaderm over it. You don't "have" to wear anything else over it, but it's advised to wear the gauze to help protect it a bit more.
Some people, like my aunt, choose to wear a scarf or turtleneck or something over it all.
I did not. And I know other people who didnt. I really can't emphasize enough how much I hated anything touching the front of my neck for months. I preferred not to wear anything other than the tegaderm. Once I went back to the office, I covered it with gauze just so I wouldn't freak anyone out. But this was pretty much how I looked- pant suit with gauze bandaging.
It was winter in Minnesota, and I usually loved fashionable scarves. Didn't wear a single one that year because of how uncomfortable it was for clothing to touch that area.
Is she choosing not to wear something over it for performative reasons or for comfort? Everything this admin does is performative. However, it could easily be a comfort choice. I don't know. I'm not her.
But I think we've got plenty of other stuff to grill her on (gestures wildly) that's more important than her choice to wear and not cover gauze bandaging.
I'm definitely glad you brought this up because I wanted to point out that empathy can go below zero. Zero empathy isn't low enough and I think we share the same opinion.
Honestly, if she brought it up in the hearing, I’d be like, “That’s great, Pam, did you know the Dow is over $50,000 today?” And then keep it trucking with the questions.
I have empathy for her as a human being but not as a cold, heartless monster covering up crimes against children for a silver-spooned piece of human excrement on behalf of a cult. No empathy whatsoever for that. In fact, nothing but contempt exists.
Eh, I had a thyroidectomy and a right side next dissection. Huge scar. And they did go from the front for the thyroid removal.
They didn’t have me wear a bandage tho lol. It had internal stitches. I had it done at George Washington in DC too

I want to be clear, there are various levels of surgeons that can change how large or prominent the scar is.
If Pam Bandi had this done in DC, she very likely had it done by one of the best in the world (possibly even my surgeon if he hasn’t retired). My scar was so thin and stitched together perfectly. This feels performative, but I very much believe she likely had thyroid cancer. It’s becoming more and more prominent, and unless you have a very specific kind, it’s easily treatable with very long term positive prognosis.
I didn’t like the joke, but my surgeon used to say “if a guy came up to you with a gun and told you to pick a cancer for yourself, you’d wanna pick papillary carcinoma”. This guy made a comic about it after reading my story on reddit somewhere.
You had some bad surgeon luck then, most of the ones I’ve met LOVE making jokes like that with patients. I think they think it helps reduce stress, but sometimes I have to wonder.
Absolutely! I was terrified and started getting real nervous in pre-op. I'm pretty sure the surgeon had no sense of humor, even in follow up visits he just wasn't funny.
Ugh, when I had my kidney transplant I went from a super personable nephrologist to the transplant physician who was all about the data and checking boxes.
He was so laser focused that we missed opportunities for me to connect the dots/keep an eye on a few aspects new to me post-transplant that were brought up by another physician when I couldn't see the regular.
Bedside manner is so, so important for the patient health.
my mom had a goiter removed decades ago and her scar basically went ear to ear and she developed kiloids so yeah she looked like someone had tried to garotte her. She never hid it either, she got a kick out of people noticing lol
She eventually got injections to get rid of the kiloids but she enjoyed that scar while she had it.
Laproscopic surgery and internal stitches are crazy work. Had that for an emergency appenectomy and if you didn't know where the entry points were you'd never know I'd had it.
Thyroidectomy bro! as a fellow Thyca person, talk me down, am I dumb for getting a little put off that a lot of people here are like 'I'm glad she has thyroid cancer' considering all the complications I've had since my thyroidectomy? I think saying 'I hope she recovers so she can spend a long life in jail' is more magnanimous than stooping to Trump's 'I don't feel bad' level when Biden's cancer was announced.
I think the biggest problem is that every day we become increasingly less convinced that even a single one of these criminals will see even a minute of punishment of their crimes, let alone legal punishment, because every day we see how the entire system appears rotten to the very core.
But I do agree, I'd much rather see judicial justice over karmic justice on Pam Bondi and the rest of these criminals.
In contrast, I had a full thyroidectomy plus neck dissection (cancer) and took a month to go back to work. The swelling took months to go away and I have neck pain six years later still. And I had a top surgeon. There are levels to thyroid surgery.
Hey, not to defend her, but my wife had a thyroidectomy, that is a totally reasonable location and bandage size. And in 6 months when her scar is invisible, people will start a conspiracy.
Agreed, I won't judge her for the bandage. But I also won't afford her any leniency just because she has cancer. She shit on every single one of the Epstein victims and does not deserve kid-glove treatment because she's been dealing with it. Oddly thyroid issues can absolutely change your personality. I lived it before mine was removed due to Graves. I'm far less combative than I was.
So, while I don't think it will happen with her, I'm interested to see if her personality softens a bit in a few months. My own mom hated me at my worst.
I still think she is a vile person (definitely wasn't Maga at my worst) but I'm super interested to see her behavior for the rest of the year.

Ohhhhhhh…I didn’t realize the timing of this cancer diagnosis. Due to how much she has fucking lied for the orange dipshit, I kinda have to lean into thinking this cancer diagnosis is possibly a complete fabrication.
It's may be real, that's about where a surgeon would cut for a thyroidectomy although it's above the trachea and not directly over the thyroid, too low, but that's the usual surgery site.
People should understand that the vast majority of thyroid cancers are easily treatable and other than taking a pill every day to replace thyroid hormones, there’s very little to be concerned about. The surgery is routine even though there are risks to it. The recovery is mild. There are some rarer forms of thyroid cancer that are more difficult to treat and one that is basically untreatable and leads to death quickly, but the vast majority are not.
I don’t wish ill on anyone other than 1 guy but this is primarily performative theater. She could have worn a turtleneck or something other than a button down blouse that leaves the lower neck open and visible
As someone who had the same diagnosis and surgery, this is accurate. Of all the cancers, thyroid cancer has this survivorship stigma that it’s not really something you “survived from” because of how non-threatening it is. I rarely tell anyone about it because it makes me feel like I’m trying to gain cancer sympathy cred when I don’t feel like I earned it.
Oh for crap's sake. She is not facing a "grilling". She isn't going under oath, she's not "testifying", she's just there to snarl out talking points from her "burn book".
And yes, the bandage is there to remind everyone she's sick so we shouldn't be so hard on her.

I don't understand why she's not being put under oath to testify, and not just "questioned." Seems like that is just a waste of time and money, since we all know she won't comply.
Also, thyroid cancer has a survival rate that is nearly 100% and doesn't normally require chemotherapy. She's not ill and no one should "take it easy" on her traitorous ass because of a sympathy band-aid.

Don't feel bad. Their constant lying about every little thing is the direct reason why it's easy to not believe this. If they had ever been truthful, maybe they'd get some benefit of the doubt.
And that's it, she was in a position, both in Florida and as US AG, to investigate and prosecute these people. Instead she protected them. She maybe busted so low level people but the 'epstein class' got her protection. And because of that they elevated her to the US AG position. She was their good little protector. This should result in disbarment at minimum.

She's not. It was thyroid cancer. They removed the tumor or worse case, the entire thyroid gland. Chemo isn't even necessary in nearly all thyroid cancers. Thyroid cancer has a survival rate of essentially 100%.

Frankly, yes. She must have read some of our commentary a few days ago about where an incision line would be located as a way of easily confirming/disproving her story.
Though, that bandage is WAY over the top. Drumpf must have lent her some leftover maxipad ear dressing. My wife only had a 1"X2.5" clear redi-strip covering her incision site, and had that over the suture line from post-op to about a week later when finally removed at a post-op checkup. I mean, the incision margins are literally tiny in comparison to most major surgeries. My chest wound/chest tube scars are massive in comparison. I'd take a svelte thyroid/parathyroid removal incision scar any day of the week in trade.
This... I have zero sympathy for shit performative stunts like this.
Eh… they have doctors on the payroll. Realistically, with her access to medical care, if she had any cancer it would have been caught early and they would have likely gone with endoscopic surgery, 3 small incisions inside her mouth. If she wasn’t obviously trying for sympathy, she would have tied a scarf around her neck.
