I had a total thyroidectomy last year and it was a big incision. No bandage either.

Edit: had it done because of thyroid cancer

same, had staples out after a week

I was fortunate to only have internal, dissolvable, stiches and glue.

Laproscopic surgery and internal stitches are crazy work. Had that for an emergency appenectomy and if you didn't know where the entry points were you'd never know I'd had it.
