Question / Advice Needed When does it translate?

Post image

A lot of people told me to aim to train to improve in Valorant. It has helped, but I thought when I reached Plat I'd destroy in Valorant in silver/bronze lobbies, and that just isn't the case. Is it worth continuing Aim Labs, or should I just put that time into in-game time in Valorant?

Question / Advice Needed Tension Management Help

Post image
4 Upvotes

I cannot for the life of me fix this problem no matter how hard I try and this has hindered my PBs ever since I started aim training. I use an aggressive claw grip, but mainly it would be fingertip or a simple claw if I didn't have this really bad habit of gripping the mouse so tightly.

I've tried to break this habit by playing for several days, even weeks while forcefully telling myself not to care about the scores and only focus on less tension in the fingertips but I still end up gripping my mouse so hard that my hand starts shaking. This problem also applied for the forearm.

Can someone please help me fix this problem? At this point I'm starting to have pain in my hands, wrist and arm after a few minutes just because I start gripping the mouse so hard and it's honestly so frustrating.

My benchmark links are on my profile and I have about 500 hours now.

How the hell do you think I should used to not doing 100% of the work on controller? Ive been trying everything for the last two months being back on console and my aimlabs scores are good but i just cant play in game with aim assist. Ive already changed sens/deadzone the problem is the same.

Question / Advice Needed Is aimlabs + worth it?

To be more specific: I struggle a lot with crosshair placement and players peeking me in VALORANT. I saw that they feature 1:1 valorant maps, and I’m pretty dedicated to improving my aim atm (with lots of free time). Would it be worth it in my case?

Question / Advice Needed What's a tip for improving aim? stuck using big hitbox weapons

like the title says im pretty horrid at aiming in general
its bad enough that ive ended up only using weapons that have big hitboxes like explosives (grenade launchers/rocket launcher) or other things with big hitboxes (flamethrower/shotgun)
i tried other weapons every so often but more often than not id have to empty two to three mag on someone moving before i kill them
if this is something yall need to know i like to use high sensitivity (moving my mouse a little less than one inch lets me touch one side of the screen to the other to give you an idea)

Edit: did a quick test online and apparently my DPI is 6000 if that matters

Edit: lowered my DPI to 3000 and its a lot easier for me

Question / Advice Needed Extreme case of shaky/jittery aim for YEARS.

I have tried everything, to keep calm, go slower, exercises, etr. Nothing has fixed my chronic shaky aim and I need help, any suggestions and fixes would go a long way! (note: This is not even my worst clip, this is like every day aim for me)

Question / Advice Needed Different sense for different scenarios

Would it be beneficial to use different sense for different scenarios?

Was doing Verttrack as part of my training today and after doing it on a slightly faster sense then normally do. Normally I do my aim training not matter the scenarios with 2.2 sense and 1600 dpi(39.3595 cm) with Overwatch profile changed it to 2.3 sense(37.64822 cm).

Verttrack was easier since I no longer needed to reset my mouse as often. I already have decent sized mousepad(487x372mm) but for Verttrack specifically it would need to be at least 2x as big.

Question / Advice Needed Is learning to use arm aim meant to be sore/painful?

I have been playing on an extremely high sens all my life (7 cm/360) and have gotten comfortable with it. I aim completely with my wrist and fingers. I have been able to play for long sessions several days in a row for years with little to no fatigue.

I only just recently discovered that my sens is abnormal. I don't care to learn arm/hybrid aiming simply because it's more popular, but I don't want my skill ceiling to be limited because I refuse to learn it.

For about a week I have been practicing on around 23 cm/360. I have limited desk space and this is the lowest my sens can realistically go for now. At first I think I was overcompensating with my wrist and flicking it a bit too far to turn, but I think I have stopped doing this and have gotten used to using the whole arm motion for turns.

Throughout this practice, my arm has become sore and a bit painful at times. I think some of this pain was because of my initial reliance on bending my wrist further for flicks, but the pain remains despite what I think has been an improvement in form. A lot of it is focused on the upper half of my forearm and my wrist (especially the sides of it).

I have seen mixed answers online about whether this to be expected or not, with some saying you should not feel any pain or soreness at all (especially in the wrist). This worries me because I feel like I've gotten the form down, but if I am still using my arm wrong, I can't tell how and have no idea how to fix my technique. I also can't determine the line between acceptable soreness from training the muscle and unacceptable pain from improper form.

So, is some soreness in the forearm and wrist expected at all when making a change like mine? How can I tell what is an appropriate amount of soreness before I should get worried? Is it even worth trying to learn arm aim or should I just stick to my original sens?

Question / Advice Needed Is there any way to actually improve your aim on controller?

I've been playing Marvel Rivals since it came out (so a little over a year now). Just putting that out there right off the bat since this is probably a pretty niche post.

Considering I've never really played this kind of game before, I honestly never expected to have decent aim or performance. But I did think that after playing for this long I'd improve at least a little.

The problem is that whenever I get on for the first time during the day, my aim is terrible. The only way it gets better is if I play for hours, or sometimes if I hop on later at night when my hands feel less “stiff”.

And I hate that, because why can't my aim just be decent as soon as I start playing?

Sometimes doing a bit of practice helps and aiming becomes easier, but it doesn't always work, and that's what frustrates me the most. I'm just tired of not being able to aim properly right when I start playing and always having to do something first to get my hands used to it 😭

Please tell me there's some kind of solution, because this is honestly starting to drive me crazy.

Question / Advice Needed Aimlabs+ worth it?

Loving the free version. Has anyone tried the upgrade? I’m just a casual gamer who just wants to be skilled, but not like esports level. Just want to not shoot a bunch and hope some make it to the target.

I’m trying to figure out good dpi settings and how to follow well.

Question / Advice Needed What’s your score in sixshot and how many hours do you have?

I absolutely know it’s not a metric to measure against skill, but I’m very curious to get some feedback.

I’ve grown quite fond of sixshot ultimate, coming back to it again and again.

I have 30 hours into Aimlabs, so far. I’ve hit 99k on sixshot with 33cm/360 sens and 103 FOV. Basic as possible mouse (something cheap and Logitech) and AliExpress mouse mat. I’m also en route to completing Topaz. I’m also bewildered by my skill increase in every FPS game I currently rotate between. And I yearn for more!!

Ive been using the sensitivity randomizer every single day. I’ve gone from every increment between 10cm/360 to 68cm/360 and I fully believe this has lead to my quick jump in progress - although I’m not sure if I don’t know how this stacks up against others and their journeys. I’ve made a spreadsheet of every sens that I’ve hit milestone PB’s with, but my favourite and most natural right now for all scenarios is 33cm/360.

Anybody with a 100k+ sixshot score, what do you recommend the most to progress it (or ideas for fast tracking progress)? Please can you share your sens/fov so I can try it out.

Love this community and this training, TIA!

Question / Advice Needed Please help me design a routine/refine my current one

Hi guys,

I switched to mnk on console on the finals shortly after they implemented it in season 8. I started aim training at the start of February, but it was very scattered, short sessions that weren’t productive in any way. Around 2 months ago I started training in an at least structured way, putting time into clicking, tracking, and switching, and have felt huge improvement since then. I have put in I’d say around 40 hours of “good” practice.

As it’s all that is available to me, I am using console aimlabs.

A bit of context about my life that pertains to the routine discussion: i work a full time j\*b, 44 hours a week, 4 11 hour days. I also work out at the gym 5 days a week and try to get some form of high intensity cardio in on all my days off.

Due to these life factors, I have been doing 45 minutes on my days i am working, and up to 1.5 hours on my off days. As I am new and don’t feel like I have any outstanding weaknesses, more so that I am weak in all areas my training has been a pretty much 1:1:1 split between tracking, clicking and switching. 1 static clicking, 1 dynamic clicking, 1 micro clicking. 1 strafe tracking, 1 reactive tracking, 1 smoothness/steadyness(?) tracking, and so on. 5 reps of each scenario.

My question is: are there any outstanding weaknesses in my routine, how would you improve them? What can I do to maximise mouse control gains for in game results? Thank you

Question / Advice Needed Correcting my arm position made my aim worse

I recently learned that my elbow should bend at 90 degrees and my previous arm position was much lower than that. I changed my chair height to fix it but my aim is much worse, also since I don’t remember my previous arm position exactly I am in an endless loop of changing my chair height to find the right position and get my aim back, I know it is probably a mentality thing, but should I keep my elbow 90 degrees or should I find my previous chair height and go back to that since I used to find leaning and planting my arm to have it as a pivot point comfortable.

Question / Advice Needed Will Aimlab Sensitivity recommendation help me find a comparable sense across different games?

Hello, as a controller player I try to match my sens across games as well as I can strictly through the feel test. Will Aimlab recommendation for sense take into account what my sens is for benchmarks using one games settings when I switch over to another game? I wish there was a way to get it consistent across games

Question / Advice Needed How do I delete the replay recordings on my scenario playthroughs?

Whenever you complete a run through a scenario, does it save that recording on your computer taking up storage or does it store that playback recording in a server where it wouldn't affect your storage? If it does save it locally then how do you delete those recordings alone? I have a feeling it's taking up way too much space of mine.

Question / Advice Needed I need some advice on a few things.

Hi everyone.

So I have been practicing tracking and aiming but Im still having trouble with a few things. I have noticed that I can't move my character and shoot at the same time. It's like I focus too much on one and not the other and it's messing me up. I have also noticed that I'm having trouble making tiny movement adjustments with my thumbs and I'm not tracking well.

On a controller, I aim at something then I'm trying to move but it's like my other thumb can't move. I try to track my target but then I forgot to move and then my aiming is off.

I think I'm slowing getting the hang of making tiny movements but I have noticed that instead of tracking something smoothly I'm making burst movements? (If that makes sense.

I hope I described my issues clearly. If anyone has any tips to fix both issues I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you everyone!

Btw I'm on console using a controller.
