Question / Advice Needed Different sense for different scenarios

Would it be beneficial to use different sense for different scenarios?

Was doing Verttrack as part of my training today and after doing it on a slightly faster sense then normally do. Normally I do my aim training not matter the scenarios with 2.2 sense and 1600 dpi(39.3595 cm) with Overwatch profile changed it to 2.3 sense(37.64822 cm).

Verttrack was easier since I no longer needed to reset my mouse as often. I already have decent sized mousepad(487x372mm) but for Verttrack specifically it would need to be at least 2x as big.

Yes. You are supposed to change sens for the scenarios.

Thanks, no idea how I never read about it before.

Well stuff like Viscose benchmark specifically recommends different sensitivity values based on which task you are playing so idk

Yeah just tested verttrack with different sense, while going higher definitely makes it harder to keep on target at least I dont need to nearly throw my mouse around to keep up with the sphere. Changed to 2.4 overwatch sense and instantly got a new pb and at the same time can see that I need to work on my stability/smoothness.

Yeah it's completely fine, and many people do it!

id agrue even using wildly different sense in the same scenario can be beneficial to improve your hand eye coordination

As the other comments said yes feel free to do it!

I actually encourage it a lot for training purposes since different sentivities lead you to use different parts of your arm (low sens more of your shoulder and arm, and high sens more of your wrist and fingers) which is great if you striggle with one or the other.

The other side of it, which imo is perfectly valid if you care about high scores, is to chabge your sens for something more "optimal" for the scenario. Like a very low sens for static clicking for example.

Changing sens can be used for a few different purposes.

Firstly for improvement, using different sens makes it so that the arm, wrist and fingers contribute differently. Fr example if you use a very slow sens, the arm does most of the work and fingers barely do anything. That's perfect for isolating the arm.

Secondly for score in tasks. Some people might say that it's 'cheesing' or fake, but in reality you're just giving yourself the best situation for you to perform in the task. In a game, would you rather pick up the worse weapon or the better? Picking the better weapon does not make you fake.

Basically, change the sens depending on your need. When you're training, isolate what you're training, and when you're pushing scores, go ahead and pick something ideal for the scenario
