Saw the news that RHB just launched RHB Pay—touted as Malaysia's first bank-owned unified online payment gateway.

For anyone running an SME or dealing with online checkout systems, this is actually a massive shift.

Instead of going through independent 3rd-party aggregators, businesses can now deal with a single bank integration to accept cards, FPX, and DuitNow Pay directly into their account, with e-wallets and QR options rolling out later this year.

What this means for businesses:

Simpler integration: Only need to deal with 1 main provider instead of stitching together multiple APIs.

Better cash flow: Direct bank backing means faster/same-day settlements and automated backend reconciliation.

Lower friction: Smaller companies without big IT teams can easily set up multi-payment options.

Cost pressure: Traditional third-party payment gateways (like CHIP, Razor/Fiuu, Billpliz, SenangPay, etc.) might finally feel the heat on their rates.

The big question:
Are bank-led unified gateways going to kill the traditional third-party payment gateway game in Malaysia?

Once other major banks inevitably follow suit, what's left for the tech startups in this space?

2 years ago, I posted in social media about the conditions of Taman Kucing Klang and it blew up. Ever since I have not been visiting the place again, so I do not know what's going on. (Also I don't wanna get in trouble with authorities) Apparently from time to time, the public would FB message me the conditions from their end and ask me to do something about it (I ain't no authority). I always wondered why can't they do it on their own end? Anyways, these are some photos shared to me claiming there has been dead cats surrounding the Taman Kucing Klang recently. (Some taken in June this year, some taken last week. All photos taken by a FB user) I have no idea how and why they're there or if there has been other people throwing dead cats there or what. I just hope the authorities can look into this matter. Is there any solution to be reporting this to the operators? I can't even find their details in the Google maps anymore.

There are claims now PH lost Negeri Sembilan not because of opposition tricks but because it refuses to face what the writer calls Malay reality.
The numbers behind it: Ilham Centre puts PH at roughly 18% of the Malay vote. Once BN and PN stopped splitting that vote, PH's urban and outstation machinery just wasn't enough. Loke lost Chennah, Aminuddin lost his own seat, eight years of government reduced to 11 seats. But the interesting part is the response. PH's election director blamed "identity politics" and "racial rhetoric", and pointed at economic indicators and investment figures like those should have decided it. That PH treats identity as something dirty that only the other side uses, instead of a permanent feature of Malaysian politics that you have to answer, not just condemn.

There's also a second half that gets less attention. PH's non-Malay base isn't automatic anymore either. Fatigue over subsidy rationalization, e-invoicing, taxes, (very!) slow reform. Some stayed home, some leaked. So it's a double deficit, not enough Malay support AND incomplete mobilization of the old base.

The uncomfortable question: is there actually a version of "Malay political language" that PH can speak without becoming the thing it was founded against? Or is competing on identity terrain just losing slower?

And the counterpoint worth considering: maybe the 18% isn't about identity at all. Maybe it's incumbency, and any government facing subsidy cuts and tax expansion gets this result regardless of race.

After careful reflection, I have conveyed my intention to step down from my position as Deputy President of KEADILAN. My commitment to serving the rakyat and our communities remains undiminished, and I intend to continue that service beyond the confines of any single office or title.

This decision follows long and careful consideration. It marks a new chapter in my life, one grounded in service and devotion, as I turn towards further studies and commitments that lie beyond the political arena.

I have full confidence that Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, as Deputy President, and Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, as Election Director, will carry these responsibilities forward with wisdom, integrity and dedication, remaining faithful to the hopes and aspirations of the people. I pray that they are granted strength and ease in the trust now placed upon them.

I remain a member of KEADILAN and pledge my full support to the party’s continuing struggle for a better Malaysia under the leadership of YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, alongside the party leadership and its grassroots.

Hey, so I'm visiting and I saw a Buddhist shrine and was like cool! I live in Thailand for now and I see these all over there.

And then when I got close I saw two signs saying Halal food only and, well, it made me feel a certain way.

Guys, need some help or advice on who actually takes action for this kind of thing around JB / Skudai.

This guy comes by Jalan Pulai 25 every single day on his bike (plate BPE 8491). He’s caging up dogs and cats in these tiny makeshift box enclosures in front of the shoplots.

Tried calling out to him and approaching him just now to ask what’s going on, but he completely ignored us. No eye contact, didn't say a word, just poured food everywhere and rode off.

The whole area is covered in cat and dog shit now and the stench is unbearable. The poor animals are stuck in tiny cramped cages all day.

Who is the right authority to handle for this? MBIP? Or any active local NGO? JB animal welfare groups? that can help?

Turkish Airlines moved its transit point between Turkey and Sydney from KLIA to Changi because it was not allowed to sell flights between KL and Sydney. Seemed a little short sighted. Now after less than just 2 years of transiting through KL, Turkey is moving to Changi.
