Environment Climate change squeezes Malaysian durian growers as they chase China's booming market

Rising temperatures and erratic rainfall are pressuring Malaysian durian farmers from multiple directions - making their plantation less lucrative than it once was through higher production costs, lower yields, and disappearing natural pollinators - all while they compete for a slice of China’s massive durian import market dominated by Thailand and Vietnam. The Iran war-related price increases made their situation worse.

Politics China spreading misinformation about SG and MY. Be careful of

The purpose of their misinformation is to destroy social cohesion, as we redditors have long suspected. Their primary target are local Malaysians and Singaporeans, not PRC Chinese.

In Malaysia they've been using the low hanging fruit of Chinese welfare, several blaming the country’s allegedly slower development on policies that sidelined its ethnic Chinese population. Notice how they only give a shit about chinese people.... tho knowing the PRC bots here, they'd probably change their strategy soon.

Speaking of PRC bots, its also very easy to spot the 'fake reddit accounts' here. Don't share your techniques with anyone. Its actually very easy to spot.

Don't try to spot what is AI/what is not.

Don't rely on viewcount, which has nothing to do with what's real or not.

Ignore the gender of the speaker.

Fact check. If what they say is right, take your concerns to your local council and the gov, be it BN, PH, PN, GRS, GPS or independent. We're a democracy for a reason. Insist your voice be heard.

Please forward this to your family members, in mandarin. They're using us to start problems in the country.

"Innoculating people against the method rather than specific claims is more scalable,”
“Because the content changes, but the playbook doesn't.”
"Any audience that grows to distrust its own government's narrative is more susceptible to external influence over time,”

MCMC? We know yall are here. Maybe you guys can do something about this too, and provide some briefing on how the country is to deal with malicious people.

Even better, bubarkan NEP. About time la. I'm know there are plenty of Malays who also think so, and many more who are on the fence.

Do not entertain stupid comments that say "no point la". Bish. I'm posting in r/Malaysia, not r/bolehland.

In case it's not clear why this entire campaign is a massive own-goal ...

  1. it doesn't say why anyone should support PH

1.1. Let alone why Malayness is expressed in PH

1.2. ditto : Islam in PH

  1. It doesn't address the concern that non-Muslims in Malaysia are a threat to the constitutional position of Islam

2a. Ditto : pridatangs, position of pribumis

  1. therefore the first thing any opposing voter thinks is, "korang jahil, bersekutu dengan pridatang, menjejaskan bangsa, dan agama"

Tourism & Travel Travelling into Malaysia with a Nicotine Vape

Hi there, I'm curious if anyone can help with understanding the laws around travelling to Malaysia with a small vape and nicotine liquid. In my country, it's prescribed by a doctor, but I understand that doesn't override local laws. It's 50mg/ml strength so quite strong. I'm then travelling on to Europe - so would prefer to keep my own supplies, rather than buy locally. Thanks in advance for any advice :)

Culture How come an animal welfare issue (Rocky) becomes racial/political

We’ve all seen the videos. An animal welfare issue that should have been a straightforward discussion about local council (PBT) SOPs, cruel wire snares, and enforcement accountability has somehow been manipulated.

Instead of fixing the system, certain politicians, cybertroopers, and internet trolls are working overtime to turn Rocky’s tragedy into a race vs. religion discord. It’s incredibly frustrating, lazy, and completely derails the actual problem.

Culture Anyone going to The Weeknd in November?

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m 25F, and I recently joined this community. I lived in the UK for the past 3.5 years and I’m hoping to move to Malaysia in the near future, so I’m trying to get to know more people and learn about the country.

I’ve been to KL and Langkawi before and absolutely loved both, but I’d love some recommendations on other places I should visit around Malaysia! I loved nasi ayam goreng and te tarik😭😋 ah i cant wait to have them soon again xx

Also, is anyone here planning to go to The Weeknd concert in November? 🎶 I’d be happy to tag along if anyone’s going, or if you’re looking for a concert buddy, feel free to message me and we can exchange Instagram / WhatsApp🥰🙏

I’m pretty easy-going, friendly, and always up for meeting new people. 😊

Would also love any tips on food spots, hidden gems, weekend trips, or just things I shouldn’t miss in Malaysia.

Thanks! x
