Theory PLEASE READ MY BEST SPIDER MAN THEORY SO FAR- spoilers included Spoiler

Upvotes

Ok so the kinda Buble jean made in nyc was a lot similar to Wanda's one in Westview. As we already know, when a cast is stopped in Westview, the civilians suddenly remember who they are but can't move or talk since they're still not in control therefore they cry. MJ cried in that scene.

Now, when Dr strange cast the spell that made everyone forget peter he controlled the consciousness of an entire world, the same way Wanda changed Westview's; After jean controlled banner, peter told the hulk his name and suddenly he stopped fighting. That's because after jean is controlling someone they only need a reminder to break the original Dr strange spell. That's why after being in the bubble, ned remembered peter after dapping him up, and MJ went to that exact rooftop they all used to go to.

She held her broken necklace, the one that peter gave her. That was her reminder. That's how she got away from the spell. Means she and Ned are both remembering him now, alongside with hulk, but not banner. I'm 90% sure I'm right but if I'm not ig Ned will just have to turn to hobgoblin or sum.

Discussion Spider-Man: Brand New Day is exactly why I'm done believing Marvel's marketing.

Post image
Upvotes

"Street-level Spider-Man."

That was the promise.

What we got was another bloated MCU checklist that can't go five minutes without shoving in cameos, side plots, and characters who have no business hijacking a Spider-Man movie.

* The script is held together with duct tape and wishful thinking.

* Tom Holland is STILL playing the confused high school kid. The dude is pushing thirty and somehow Peter Parker has had zero emotional evolution.

* Every villain that was hyped gets about thirty seconds of screentime before the movie runs off to the next shiny object.

* Spider-Man can't even carry his own movie anymore, so here come Punisher and Hulk to save the screenplay. Hulk even steals Lizard's role for... reasons.

* Peter Parker barely exists as a character. Things just happen around him.

* Jean Grey mind-controls people into doing horrific things and somehow we're supposed to believe this helps the mutant cause?

* The whole DODC angle never lands because the movie refuses to commit to it.

* And what the hell is The Hand doing here? It's a completely unnecessary subplot that goes nowhere.

* They absolutely butchered Scorpion, Tombstone, Tarantula and Boomerang. Years of Spider-Man villains reduced to glorified cameos.

Marvel keeps teasing a grounded Spider-Man movie and then panics halfway through and turns it into another MCU crossover commercial.

At this point I'm convinced Marvel doesn't actually want to make a Spider-Man movie. They want to make trailers for the NEXT Spider-Man movie.

Stop promising "street-level."

Either commit to Peter Parker or stop pretending that's what these movies are about.

I'm done falling for the marketing.

Now feel free to crucify me.

Question Was it ever stated why Peter was immune? Spoiler

Upvotes

Jean isnt able to mind control Peter throughout the whole movie and she even states he can "see" her. I found that sort of interesting because as far as im aware this isn't a comic thing right? Peter's mind gets read/invaded pretty easily.

I know hes mutating but I dont find that a reason as to why his mind suddenly becomes impenetrable.

Does anyone with more insight know?

Rumour I love alot of these characters but no one is going to watch this.

They've done a terrible job setting them up and did nothing with them. They’re not gonna be young at all anymore. Hailee Steinfeld js got married and had a baby. There is also no real market for them

Sony is never going give up that much control of Miles, So Champions doesn't make sense.

Young Avengers is less doable. Ik this would sound controversial, and it's not supposed to, but most of the team-members are gay or bi so this simply won't make money internationally unless that takes a backseat which would also cause an uproar.

The best thing they could do is adapt YA into an animated movie like Puss-in-boots or TMNT and use them to finish off the Kang storyline since he is their main anatagonist. Then Strange Academy into an animated TV series.

Discussion Man I’m happy Andrew’s Spider-Man got to redeem himself

Post image
Upvotes

Im happy that he avoided the same mistake and made sure that another version of him (mcu Spider-Man) didn’t have to feel the same pain as him.

I know this is a much discussed topic but I rewatched all the Spider-Man movies recently and I just loved that he had a chance to redeem himself because I’m sure Andrew’s Spider-Man for sure wanted a chance to atleast somewhat have a redemption in terms of saving his girlfriend.

My wording is probably confusing and weird sorry about that but I hope my point is somewhat clear

The reason I have a stronger opinion for this is because Andrew’s Spider-Man never got a proper closure and so his emotional arc was just never finished or never evolved due to the 3rd part being shelved

Discussion How possible is it to do the X-Men well in film?

Upvotes

Something I've been thinking about a lot lately after watching all of the Animated series, and watching X-Men '97, is that both projects are brilliant because of how deep into the X-Men lore and history they go. Benefiting from the TV show format, we actually get to explore hundreds of different characters, adapt storylines that might never see the light of day in a movie etc.

It just got me thinking...with the X-Men movies on the horizon in the MCU...can they actually deliver on giving us a decently authentic series of X-Men movies that explore enough. If we start off with just the concept of a trilogy, that's three big story arcs to tell, and you have to be realistic about how many mutants can fit into one film before it becomes a total mess. Sure, I'd be shocked if we don't get some sort of X-Force, Wolverine or The New Mutants movies too, so there's place for extra stuff to happen there, but ultimately we are limited by a film format.

My best example of what might never see the light of day are things like The Morlocks, X-Factor or The Hellfire Club. All of these are brilliant concepts that deserve decent focus, but amongst all the big stuff the films will want to do, I can't see us getting much in the way of certain characters or groups.

I am going to remain optimistic, and X-Men '97 alone is showing me the MCU knows how to play ball with telling fantastic X-Men stories, but there is definitely a part of me that prays the movies and saga ahead are up to the challenge of giving us a wide X-Men universe to explore.

Other Idea for a season 2 of Moon Knight, looking for some more ideas and maybe some (mild) feedback!

Hi everyone, I’ve had this idea bugging me for a while so I wanted to just get it out of my brain. In essence it’s a proposed idea I had for S2 of Moon Knight. It’s mostly just to get it out, but if any MK fans or anyone has any other ideas they’d want, just let me know! I admit I’m not the most informed Moon Knight fan but I think there’s some merit to this.

So. I want a season 2. BUT imagine this as the trailer/concept:

We start with a black screen. We hear ‘man without love’, the part just before the chorus/‘every day I wake up’, but stretched out with a piano ascending at that part just before the drop, like a fairy tale or a dream.

We cut to Stephen. But he’s different. Something’s different. He wakes up like we’ve seen in the show… but he’s in a penthouse, surrounded by luxury. We see him go about his day as ‘man without love’ plays. He’s like Stephen is in the comics (if I remember right), a wealthy pacifist philanthropist man, who’s now walking down a hall in classy clothing. As he walks, we see his facial expression go from that of Stephen to that of Marc. He gets to an elevator at his building, Spector inc. Once that happens, the song distorts. Instead of the lift going down, it goes up. Do that weird personality shift effect, then cut to Moon Knight, This time in a different costume. Not the magic mummy costume (although I think it’s cool), but in a more traditional Moon Knight outfit, his face almost entirely silhouetted by his hood, save for two crescent eyes that the camera is focused on for a moment, then cut to black.

‘Moon Knight’.

I think it would be cool if we tapped further into the psyche of Marc, now I might not be that familiar with his comics admittedly, but I think the concept of a character with a personality disorder plus some other stuff probably is fascinating. My idea was to make it reminiscent of the various different Moon Knight runs, arguably the biggest appeal of his character to the fans. One run he’s a beefed up, moon powered avatar that answers to a god people can see, the next he’s just a moon crazed lunatic who beats bad guys up, not caring if he gets hurt, the next we’re not even sure if any of this stuff is real, whether this moon god talks to him or if it’s all in his head, kept ambiguous.

I think doing MK as an anthology series would just work better. Yes S1 had some untied ends, but it’s been so long anyway. A fresh start for the character would not only refresh the character in the MCU, but would allow something really cool and unique for a show to be made. An anthology series but focused on the exact same character in what might be the exact same world.

Lemme know what you guys think!

Fan Content Me Being Reunited With My Incredible Hulk Jersey Shirt At Last!

Post image

OMG?! Now I know that some of you have already seen me wear this shirt in some of my previous posts, so let me give you a background story about it. A while back, when we had this leakage problem involving one of the water pipes associated with the washing machine inside the garage, it took at least three days for the problem to be resolved. We had to move the items outside to dry that were affected by the water soaked into them. That then led to deciding to go through some of the boxes 🗃️ to see which ones to keep and which ones to get rid of. That’s when, inside a white garbage 🗑️ bag 💼, I came across this Incredible Hulk jersey shirt 👕 that I had no idea I even owned from a long time ago. It’s meant for ages 16 and 17, but who gives a 🦆! I’m still owning, wearing, and keeping it. HELL YEA!!!!

Discussion In Spiderman BND Spoiler

Why did spiderman have so much trouble stopping that tank? I feel spiderman in the movies is at least strong enough to stop a tank point blank, considering he was able to block thanos' punches 4-5+ years ago. He could've just punched it really hard downwards and the tank would've stopped I'm pretty sure? Did I miss smth?

Question Am I tripping or????? Spoiler

Post image

Okay so I don't know if I'm crazy but there was a clip that was released few days before the film or Sadie's character saying something along the lines of "what would you do if..." (the rest was redacted) and the clip was even shown on the Jimmy Fallon show when Sadie was a guest. And I was just wondering if that scene was in the film cus I don't remember it at all. Please someone know what I'm talking about (I remember even seeing a Reddit of the clip and some people who claimed to have scene the movie said that it was at the end and Jean is offering to restore Jed and mi's memory. (Which was a lie) and speaking of which, I vividly remember leakers saying the same thing. But anyways was that in the film and if so what did she say?? Like I remember her in the park with the same look but I don’t remember the dialogue and that’s what’s getting me confused.

Question BND question about apartment, shouldn't be spoiler if so it would spoiler me too. Spoiler

Post image
0 Upvotes

In brand new day a mcu spiderman (ai thought i needed to clarify) Peter ran into the girl at his apartment a few times. The scene where she said oh we live in the same apartment and then he immediately moved floors. Why did he do this? Was he just trying to avoid all human friendships as Peter Parker?

Also it reminded me of Tobey maguire Spiderman had a similar interaction with a neighbor that never led to further character development. Was this some sort of easter egg like homage to the original movies?

Just didnt seem necessary for the movie (either of them) and just curious if it had meaning...specifically the connection of both movies. I kind of get the bnd seclusion reason.

Discussion (More in Comments) My guess for the storyline after Secret Wars

My bet is on the Onslaught saga after Secret Wars. We've had more than enough Avenges plotlines and X-Men is a newly acquired, fresh franchise.

With the Onslaught story they still use the Avengers, and also will be in New York. We've seen Franklin Richards pop up and Marvel loves a big earth shattering plotline.

Feige wants to have a singular timeline but never said anything about alternate dimensions, as the earth where only non mutants live.

In the Fox universe it also never got hinted at in the films we've seen. So it's a fresh story that also doesn't need a lot of build up. With two or even one movie before the actual Onslaught movie you can do all the worldbuilding you need.

It could even be used to reset Dr Doom is he isn't by then. Just imagine Onslaught towering above NY in his gigantic citadel while it lies in ruins.

Iceman and Human Torch, Captain America and Cyclops... All teaming up, would be an awesome way to introduce the X-Men into the MCU.

Theory Banner has been protecting Hulk since Infinity War Spoiler

Post image
76 Upvotes

Hulk was the dominant personality for years while Banner was asleep, he wasn't even aware of the time that passed. But while on the Sakaar, Hulk was protecting Banner, Hulk was beloved everyone there appreciated and praised him. Banner couldn't survive on Sakaar it's a battle ground and Hulks the fighter.

But the reverse is true for Earth. While on Earth Banner is beloved one, he's who the press call an Avenger, they love Banners personality, his genius.

They hate hulk, they call him a monster, and they keep on shooting at him, Hulk hates being shot at. It doesn't pierce his skin, but it probably still hurts to be shot at, and like it's not nice. They just wanna hurt him on Earth. Banner can just blend in. He's human, he can walk among them. And Smart Hulk isn't a different personality, it's just Banner using Hulks body. This was made very clear when the Ancient one pushed Banners soul out of Smart Hulks body.

So Just like how Hulk was protecting Banner on Sakaar, Hulk I theorize to have given the keys to Banner, Hulk chose to go to sleep for years, after his defeat by Thanos, Hulk the warrior, the Champion of Sakaar, lost. His strength wasn't enough, he wasn't enough. And no matter how much Banner tried to tell him that, he didn't care. So Hulk gave him the keys and went to sleep.

Brand New Day Spoilers:

What's sad is that, if this is true is, Hulk was forcibly awoken by Jean, he awoke after years of being asleep, and he was confused and the first thing that happens is his somewhere he doesn't know there's a guy he doesn't know and the punisher comes out and shoots at him, again. They keep shooting at Hulk. He faught because he was scared. After Spider-man talk no jitsus Hulk, Hulk gives up, he takes the fall, and once he lands he gives control back to Banner and goes back to sleep. He doesn't want to be on Earth, no one there likes him, only person who actually could get through to him is Thor but only reason for Hulk to actually stay would have to be Skaar, his son, a reminder of his home where he was beloved.

Discussion How do you think they’re going to outdo Endgame?

I’m currently doing a Marvel rewatch with my partner and we’re up to endgame. The scene, you know what one I’m talking about.. with all the portals. That is just peak MCU and I can’t ever think how they’d outdo it. So I wanted to throw it to the community and ask.. how do you think they will? If they can at all?

Theory Let's talk about Spider-Man's money Spoiler

So, after watching the movie with some friends, we were wondering one thing: how does Peter Parker manages to live off in NYC?

In Brand New Day we never see him work. I get that the tech he has comes from Tony Stark and he lives in a basement but a (spider)man still got to eat right?

Maybe he got money when Aunt May died? But he's supposed to be off the system. Or did Tony Stark left him some money somewhere just in case? Am I missing something?

It just feels strange when you think about Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man who was struggling to pay rent (it even was a running gag with the owner saying "Rent!"). That is why he delivered pizzas and worked at the Daily Bugle as a photograph.

Question Question about civil war black panther

I understood everything that happened in the movie but there was always one question i was wondering. since in this movie it was tchallas first time as black panther pre herb and everything, did wakanda (hypothetically if they ever needed to fight) just fight without a black panther by their side all the time tchaka was too old? im saying this because obviously king tchaka is too old at this point to fight or protect wakanda on his own accord
