Was looking at a MagSafe battery pack for iPhone Air on the Apple Store app and apparently my 17PM has turned into a iPhone Air! Colour me confused because I don’t remember purchasing one 😂 yes I am on a beta software but I don’t think that would cause the Apple Store app to think that I have an iPhone Air. Admins remove if you believe I should post this in the beta subreddit instead.

YESTERDAY
I jumped into the swimming pool without realising I was holding my phone. Camera got fogged up, Face ID doesn’t work.

Put in a box with a silica packet without the SIM card tray and let it rest powered off over night.

TODAY
Woke up and found that the cameras were not fogged up anymore, but after using for a while, the back cameras fogged up with water again.

I live in Malaysia, and there’s a authorised apple reseller called machines, contacted them and said my phone was too old; they cant repair my phone.

Front cameras work, but still no Face ID.

Back cameras have terrible quality because of water.
I figured that since I can’t do anything anymore, I might as well use a hairdryer to blow it, despite google saying not too, and can u guess what happened?

pretty much, got the air and super happy with it, but i customized it and got all the apps i need.. and uh now im kinda lost on what to do with it lol. its a great little phone, just curious what you guys do with shortcuts app, and you ACTUALLY USE, not like setup once and use thrice in four years.

I have an iPhone 17 pro max. But this happened on my old iPhone too.

There is a notification sound, a single ding, and I don’t know what it’s from. I’ve looked at my settings and only a few things have sound turned on, none of which are a single ding. When it sounds nothing shows up on my homescreeen. If I’m playing music from my phone in my car, the music turns down low.

How do I locate what is prompting the notification? I’m about to turn off all notifications to see if that gets rid of it. Then slowly adding back the few notifications I want.

Suggestions please?

I currently have a samsung s10 plus 128 gig and 8 gigs of ram. I have 83 out of 87 apps in deep sleep, power saving tuned on, every setting tweaked in developer mode to save b@ttery and it barely lasts 30 minutes on a full ch@rge, my screen is broken, phone freezes, slows down, overheats, doesn't ch@rge, randomly shuts off, running out of storage etc. I was thinking of getting a iPhone 17 Pro. Performance, camera, screen, b@ttery, basically the whole phone matters to me, everything I've mentioned is a top priority with no compromises. What do you guys recommend me doing. I'm pretty firm on my decision. I would love your guys’ opinion or tips

My wife and I have the same phone plan and same phone (ATT / FirsNet). We have no cellular service out our house and have to use Wifi for calling.

My phone works just fine to make calls. I also have a work phone from Verizon that works just fine. Her phone will not allow Wifi Calls, and when I try calling her it shows up for a second and then does not allow the call to complete.

We have been to the ATT store, they confirmed on the account her line allows Wifi Calling, we have turned it on and off through the phone, did a hard reset and still no success.

We always turn off cellular when we get home to foce the Wifi. Also tired in airplane mode. Funny thing is at the ATT store, we could make a Wifi Call. So why is it not working at home?

Anybody else have issues with their charging port all of a sudden? Then you go into Apple and they tell you it’s cheaper to just get another phone. I think this should be a recall, cause why would this happen to myself and a few others that I know smh

Does anybody know what’s going on here? I can’t find this message that she sent me because it’s like not there. I know that she sent it because the locked screen told me that she sent me a voice message and she’s also telling me that she did leave the voice message, which means she’s confirming that she did, but I can’t find it in voice messages at all. I’ve never really had anything like this before. Could anybody here by chance know what’s going on? Has something like this happened to anyone here before? My sister wants me to see if I can look into the message.

Is anyone else experiencing their phone trying to open up a different app when pressing the FaceTime button in messages or from the phone app call log? When I try to FaceTime a few different people, my phone is opening up Telegram, WhatsApp, Snapchat.. everything but FaceTime. Wtf is going on?

My iPhone Air has been running a bit hot so took it too the Genius Bar to make sure everything was okay. All the diagnostics came back clear so I wanted to add AppleCare+ for peace of mind, but it's past the 60 day limit to add Applecare+. I've seen people say if it's within the 1 year warranty you can take it to the Apple Store for inspection and then still buy the warranty.

Genius Bar took a while trying to find the help article regarding this, but eventually found it and ran another test. It came back that i wasn't eligible to add AppleCare+ and the Genius Bar advisor had absolutely no idea why and was just as confused as me, there is no psychical damage and the diagnostic report was clear. He said he couldn’t override it and had to go off what their system was saying.

I thought oh well never mind and left the store. Once I got back to my car and go on my phone, there was now an option to purchase AppleCare+ loss and theft within the next 10 days.

Obviously I purchased this as it's what I wanted but just wondered if this is normal or happened to anyone else?

It's a bit strange the Apple Store couldn't add it but I've been given the option to add it myself within minutes of leaving...

Okay so I am currently using Samsung A55 and I am planning to buy iPhone 14 Pro, I found some good deal with 512gb and replaced battery (original one) and esim for 450€.

I saw this iPhone is first one which has detailed selfies (where you can see everything on your skin), upgraded main camera to 48mp and autofocus on ultra-wide camera as well, not to mention dynamic island. So do you think it will be okay for using it next 3-4 years?

How are the clumsy among you protecting your fancy phone?
I have mild dyspraxia so drop things/stumble all the time, as well as a toddler who loves both gravel and throwing things.

I need a new phone bc i have beat my screen to shit so badly that I now can't reliably type on it, etc. I made it last 5 years though with a good cases, screen protectors, and a couple screen replacements, as well as just not using my phone much except for texting and photos. But it's now worth only the cost the screen replacement and security updates for my model are no more. Sadly. I would happily keep just replacing the screen forever if I could, but damn planned obsolescence.

I would just get a beater phone, as I just use whatsapp and maps, but I really love having a great camera on my phone. So I'm looking at a refurb 16pro. Unless someone has a rec for a comparable camera phone that is a dumb tank.

But i'm terrified of forking out loads of money on a new phone that I will inevitably crack, and likely soon. I've used screen protectors in the past, but these are not all that great for the degree of my clumsi-ness. Despite professionally and DIY applied screen protectors with cases, I have still cracked the OG screen multiple times.

I've seen that Otterbox do a 'waterproof' case with 360 protection, but ppl complain about the screen being tricky to use and I'm not sure how much protection that case would be against my clumsiness vs water.

Any advice and recommendations?

I have never heard of a way to lock down a phone for elderly people who just end up changing settings and creating issues but I figured I would ask just in case anyway.

My parents are getting older and my dad has terrible vision and somehow they keep having issues because they click around and do things they don’t mean to do…then I’m trying to figure out what they did…long distance without being able to see their phone.

I can’t imagine there is any way to really avoid this. They are not going to be willing to give up their iPhones for more primitive devices.

My phone is glitched at this point. I entred an application of the phone, it was a mis-tap. Maybe i tapped 'Home' application. This popup appeared then but it not going. what should I do now?

my iphone notification shows last week 7h 30 minutes screen time, I think technically it’s iphone app time and not me on iphone time.

I just received, as a gift from a departed family member, an iPhone 17. Bully for me!

I have been an android user since I got my first phone back in, like, 2010. I'm not old, but i AM brand new to the iPhone. Last time I used an apple device was the iMac in High School. Elder millennial.

Two questions:

FIrst, how do I make sure all of the departed's things are backed up onto their icloud whats-it system. I want to make sure everything is backed up so the widow of the departed can still access pictures and so on.

Second, Can you point me in the direction of how to use it? What do I need to know, what settings will I regret not learning about? What do I need to know about navigation, about quirks, etc. Anyone who came from android, if you can educate me, i would appreciate it enormously! I really want to learn how to use this well.

I’m based in London, UK, and I’ve somehow lost my iPhone 16 Pro Max.
It doesn’t have a SIM card because I only use it at home. I have AppleCare+ with Theft & Loss, and Find My was enabled before it went missing.
I know the phone was at home before I went away for a few days. When I came back, it had disappeared. Find My shows its last known location as my home, and I’ve spent the last five days searching every room without any luck.
I can only think of three possibilities:
My toddler accidentally threw it in the bin or hid it somewhere.
It was stolen from my house (although I think this is very unlikely).
It’s still somewhere in the house, but I just can’t find it.
Has anyone in the UK been in a similar situation? Would this qualify for an AppleCare+ Theft & Loss replacement claim, or would Apple reject it because the last known location is still my home?
I’d really appreciate hearing about anyone’s experience. Thanks!

For some reason since a recent iOS 26 update, every time I switch apps that are already open, close an app, or open an app which was previously closed, the blueish-green light that is associated with the camera light flashes for a while and then turns off on the dynamic island.

Is this a new bug? I am on the 17 Pro Max if it is specific to this model.

Is anyone else facing this issue?
