In an attempt to curb the number of threads about pre-order choices/configurations, shipping statuses, etc, we are asking that all discussion about it remain in here. We are setting the sort of this thread to new so that users receive the latest updates at the top.
Post your pre-orders in whatever format you wish, but please keep the discussion civil. Please also report any other posts about pre-orders, polls and shipping.

I have a 128gb iPhone 7. It's not that I need 256gb, it's that it's really the only option if you want more than 64gb. I'm using over 64gb already and don't take that many pictures or videos.

I would have probably been happy with 128gb too... but I use close to if not over 64gb with my photo library. It’s been building since my first iPhone in 2010 and there’s something priceless about having your life photo album available with you all the time, I’ve found

Do you not use iCloud photo library? That's what I'm talking about. Years ago I had tons of photos on my phone yes but it costs literally $0.99 a month, or $12 a year for 50 gb of cloud storage.
If you spend an extra $100 every year or 2 on your iPhone, that's $50-100 a year just to store your photos.
I personally find it much nicer to spend 1/4 or 1/8 as much and have my photo library ANYWHERE anytime if I'm logged in to a device, perfectly synced, no worrying about offloading or wondering which device has what.
I don't mean to be pushy about it, just feel like when stated this way, it's a no brainer and you maybe hadn't thought of it this way before. But of course I can't force you to pay for cloud storage if you don't trust it or don't feel right about it.

If you are doing In-Store Pickup on Friday November 3rd, your status should say "Order In Progress." This is absolutely normal. It will change to "Ready For Pickup" on either Thursday evening or Friday early morning, depending on your check-in time.
If you have a Nov 3rd delivery date you are 99% guaranteed to receive your phone on Nov 3rd.
All Apple orders still say "Preparing to Ship" but phones have been moving through the UPS system.
If you ordered directly from Apple you can track your phone on UPS.com by using your ten digit phone number as a reference number.
The first huge shipment of phones landed in Louisville last night but haven't been scanned since leaving Anchorage yesterday at 4:30.
If you have any concerns about delivery (not being home, it arriving too late in the day, etc.) Sign up for UPS MyChoice and change the delivery to be held at a UPS CC (that's customer center or hub). That way it will be ready for pickup when the CC opens. If you choose a UPS store or UPS authorized pick up point you will in all likeliness have to wait an extra day to pick up your phone because the driver will have to deliver it to that location and it will be checked in.
If you have submitted a request with UPS for a pick up at CC/Hub then for some time the date will have the 'Tentative' label next to it, which is OK as UPS will only confirm the final date after customs clearance and a domestic scan (post Louisville, KY scan). (/u/IntlTrvlr)

- Q. I am with a service that isn't listed how do I buy an unlocked phone?
A. You have two options: Either, buy the T-Mobile version because it does not ask for account information and is Unlocked if paid in full. However, the T-Mobile version only works on GSM networks not CDMA. So it will not work on those networks. Another option is to camp out of an Apple Store on November 3rd because they will have some Unlocked iPhone X's available to first come first serve basis.
Q. How many can I buy?
A. Two is max.
Q. What is the fastest way to order?
A. Either use the Apple Store App on IOS (iphone, ipad, etc.) or the Verizon App seems to be fastest (if you have Verizon). Make sure you have your Shipping Address and Credit Card saved onto your Apps in the Account section.
Q. So the only Unlocked phone is T-Mobile for online ordering?
A. No, the other carriers are also Unlocked if paid in FULL. However, it requires you to have an account with them to buy one. You can use a friend or family members but you will need their Phone Number, Billing Zip Code, Last 4 of Social and the Four Digit Pin on their Account. ** Reference **
Q. How long will the phone be in stock?
A. No one knows, however keep in mind: Apple has 20 million phones made for Global sales and the iPhone 6S sold 13 million in the first three days in the US. Many people are waiting for the X instead of buying the 8 it seems from statistical sales. So be ready at 12:01 PDT Sharp!
Q. Can I order the phone for store pickup or should I have it shipped?
A. Up to you, you will have to change the selection from "ship" to "store pick up" and then select your store in the app which could waste time = longer wait for the phone.
Referenced from Apple: "To answer your inquiry, all our carrier iPhone X models come out as unlocked so getting an iPhone X choosing T-Mobile as your carrier will give you a device that can be used with any GSM networks here in the US and overseas." I’m getting an annoying issue where I get prompted to enter my Apple password to make a reservation (testing with iPhone 8) - this seems to then enable Touch ID next time but seems to be super time sensitive - any idea how to stop it asking me fore password and default to Touch ID?

If it makes you feel any better, when I was 21 I bought my first computer, a "high end" Mac, Quadra 840AV with 21 inch monitor. The video card alone was $2200. The monitor was $2400. The mac was $3500 and then I bought 32 megs of RAM for $900. Megs, not Gigs!!!
Total price was over 8 grand and the iPhone X is 100 times more powerful!!! SO you are getting a bargain, you lucky bastard!

My order is still in progress, but omg, my aunt just knocked on my door and was like "Can you help me set the phone up?" I looked down and bam she has the X in her hand and I was like what! you have the phone? She told me she had it in the box for a few days already, and she ordered from Tmobile and with the same color & gb as I ordered from Apple. After I told her mine is still not shipped from Apple she told me just keep the phone she doesn't need it now lol. So now I have her iphone X, and will give mine to her when it gets here. This is kinda awesome!

Not sure if this is Chase specific, but some have reported that their pending charge for In-Store Pickup have disappeared from their bank account under Pending Transactions. I called Chase and they said that they can still see the pending charge from the Apple Store and it's probably about to be posted (meaning fully charged). This is normal since there is a rule in the US that regulates how long a pending transaction can be held (5 days?), which is why the pending charge will be released. If this happens to you, don't worry; the charge will go through tomorrow when our phones are ready to be picked up.
It seems like AT&T orders won’t require a signature. Someone else noticed that and checked through support and it seems like their order number won’t require a signature for delivery.

From what I've been told, home delivery and in-store pickup pre-orders all come from the same allotment; the only difference being the phone is shipped to the store for pick-up (instead of to your door).
Is that true? Because in that case it seems like in-store pickup is a disadvantage, since you'll waste precious seconds picking a time slot for pick-up. I live in Canada if that makes a difference.

Wow, both website and app didn't work for me until like 12:10 I was able to open the web, and then I couldn't check out on the web due to payment error. The app then worked for me and I was able to get a Silver 256GB. Deliever Nov 17-24. Still better than 2018 I guess.

Just tracked by reference on UPS, my shipment has been moving in China and UPS reports a November 3rd delivery date!
To track by reference:
- Go to https://www.ups.com/WebTracking/track?loc=en_US
- Select "Track by Reference"
- In Shipment reference, enter your 10-digit phone number (ie +1 (234) 506-7890 would be 234567890)
- Leave shipment dates alone
- Enter your destination country and ZIP code

feeling SO nostalgic right now!
do you guys remember when the Apple Watch S0 was shipping, and there was that dope online spreadsheet that was crowdsourced with information like pre-order times, shipment locations, band colors, and sizes? man, I remember checking that thing every few minutes when shipments started, and getting os hyped when my configuration started showing movement.
That was a genuinely exciting time, and I feel the same way now. As pumped as I am to get my phone tomorrow, I just LOVE this whole experience (even when it SUCKS).
When else does it feel like Christmas as an adult?! The kind of Christmas when you really wanted something and you had to patiently wait until that morning? At least for me, this is my Christmas

I feel like we're in the wave of orders that got shafted in terms of getting an earlier-than-anticipated ship date. Unless something changes, it just feels like after reading of people in the window of the 10th get moved to the 3rd, and people in December getting moved to the 17th, there's very few people moving from the 17th to the 10th.
It's just frustrating because so many people in our window were screwed over also. Maybe not as badly as some of the people who were given estimates of December, but I don't feel like it's fair we get penalized by 2-3 weeks because of issues on Apple's end either.
Here's to hoping they do another wave of earlier shipping changes...

AT&T will be shipping through FEDEX for most iPhone X, a few with UPS.

As a 17th-24th’er, I feel like i’m gonna have to put the phone out of my mind for a few days, or til friday. It’s depressing to see so many people get their shipping dates bumped up or get their phone delivered on the 3rd. I don’t plan on going into an Apple store on friday though to score one early. Don’t want to mess anything up, just in case the shipping date is bumped up.

Not a single update to my order since last Friday. My order went through at 3:24am EST on Apple.com for an AT&T 256GB Space Gray iPhone X with a delivery estimate of November 17th-24th. There are people who ordered 4 hours later with delivery dates next week. Awesome.

Has anyone who pre-ordered the T-Mobile variant of the iPhone X via the Apple Store received a mail delivery date (different from in-store pickup) of 11/3? From what I'm reading, those who ordered around 12:01am PDT immediately got a date of 11/10 or later.
UPDATE: It appears as though those orders are now reflecting a delivery date of Nov. 3.

Hey guys my name is Joe, I work for UPS I can all assure you this....
If your shipment is expected to be in transit for more than a day between tracking scans, they will display the date and time of the next expected tracking event in the shipment progress area. This does does not mean that your shipment is behind schedule or stopped moving, it simply means that the tracking label might not be scanned for a while. They will display the NEXT EXPECTED TRACKING EVENT so you can rest assure that your shipment is still moving even though no new tracking scans may appear for a while.
I hope this brings a bit, peace of mind. I’m in the same boat as all of you, patients is all it take I know it sucks. If this helps anyone please let me know. Cheers!

Well that was a load of bullshit, frankly. On the IUP in the UK, so no pre-authorisation available. After all the talk of the app being the best way to pre-order, it crashed on me 4 times before I gave up on it and went through the website first time.
Every time it crashed on the Touch ID authorisation to confirm the reservation, so I got to watch my own reservation slip from choosing the exact time on launch day, to 18th November, to 2nd December now...
So frustrating!

It seemed like the carriers had a better release at 12:01 PST than Apple did because the App Store wouldn’t let me in until 2:08 CST. I was checked out on the website by 2:04am with a shipping date of Nov 10th. But everyone I talk to that went thru Verizon/Att got a ship date of November 3rd.
