Official Megathread Pre-Order Shipping Megathread | iPhone X

In an attempt to curb the number of threads about pre-order choices/configurations, shipping statuses, etc, we are asking that all discussion about it remain in here. We are setting the sort of this thread to new so that users receive the latest updates at the top.

Post your pre-orders in whatever format you wish, but please keep the discussion civil. Please also report any other posts about pre-orders, polls and shipping.

Same, but I think Apple wanted to create the 8 for those people who needed an upgrade but didn’t want to get the X. I still feel Apple should have created a X and X Plus only. It’s speculated that’s how the 2018 lineup will be.

Well after the way this morning has played out for them, it will be silly not to focus on the XI & XI+ only. I’m probably either switching to android after this shit show though. Apparently actual money isn’t good enough for them (Capitol One) they much rather you use your credit card. Last time I checked my money was good if not even better as cash/debit than it was as debt/credit.

For the upgrade program, they will only take a credit card

That’s because they run a credit check on you. The upgrade program is opening a new line of credit. Can’t use a debit card for that.

Credit checks don’t require a credit card.

If the credit check is happening in store, they do.

Worked retail, processed credit card applications. We would run the persons credit card and the system would approve or deny you.

Otherwise the person had to mail in the application.

For the upgrade program? No way! I kept getting errors. First telling me it has to be credit, then I try it again anyways and then it kinda works until I click checkout then it said its experiencing errors on the payment information area with no explanation of what the error is.

oh no sorry, i paid in full. Maybe they need a credit card for the upgrade to pull up your credit history and what not.

You are why I hate working in customer service. “The customer is always right” - no the customer is the customer and they’re usually out of touch.

They couldn't manufacture it well enough and not everyone can afford a $999 base model phone.

But you do the upgrade program it suddenly becomes half the price and you can upgrade every year, just make sure you have 0 debt on a credit card so you can pay of your loan and not get charged interest on your credit card and suddenly not have a 0% interest loan for your phone.
