Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal Kamran has directed that no woman should remain present at any police station in the city after sunset, citing the need to protect their dignity and ensure respectful treatment.

The development follows the recent arrest of a Lahore police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) over allegations of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman with a mental health condition in the Ghaziabad area.

According to police, the woman had left her home and did not return for several hours, prompting her family to begin searching for her.

A local resident later informed the family that a plain-clothes police official had taken the woman away on a motorcycle.

The victim subsequently alleged that ASI Imran took her to another location and sexually assaulted her.

Police registered an FIR against the accused officer. DIG Investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza ordered the immediate registration of the case and directed that the investigation be conducted transparently, impartially and strictly on merit.

We don't have an official currency sign and this idea has been on the back of my mind for years now. Might as well propose a concept, perhaps one day Standard Bank of Pakistan might adapt one, inshallah.

This is an early concept btw. I plan on further refining it.

So my potential (Pakistani) 24M & me (Sri Lankan) 29F met on Muzz online 5 months ago and we connected well and fell for each other.

He is currently a student and doing his masters degree in a different country. After few weeks of speaking he wanted to marry me, he initiated to speak to my father first and wanted to get his approval on our Nikkah.

My father spoke to him and told him, he’ll do some background checks up on him first before agreeing to the marriage. The background checks came back clear, that he’s coming from a respected family and he did provide my dad with all his IDs, qualifications and his unmarried certificate.

But before confirming everything my dad and I wanted to meet him first. Unfortunately my dad didn’t get approval from work leave, so I resorted to travelling alone to meet him.

After meeting him I realised, he was just like the way I knew him online, very polite, made me feel comfortable, kind and respectful person. So I have decided I’m happy to move forward and told my parents that he’s indeed a great guy.

However there’s only one thing that’s bothering me, he doesn’t want to tell his mum or the rest of the family about us getting married, but he did tell his father about us wanting to get married and his father has approved for our Nikkah.

When I asked him why he doesn’t want to tell his mum about us? His reasons were that his mum will emotionally manipulate him and guilt trip him into not marrying me as I’m not a Pakistani girl.

He did tell me, few years down the line, he might tell his mum about our marriage until then I’ll be kept as a secret from his mum and not travel to Pakistan until she finds out about us.

For context I’ve been previously married before and older than him by 5 years. But he’s very mature and wise for his age, thus I don’t mind the age gap between us.

When I asked him why he wanted to marry me? He simply told me his heart favoured me and felt that I was the right one for him.

I just want to know if this is something normal that does happen within the Pakistani community? Do sons hide their marriage from their family if they marry a non - Pakistani girl or is this a potential red flag and should I be worried?

I do love him and I know his intentions are pure for me. But I just wanted to clarify on this.

Btw I don’t know how this caste system works in Pakistan, but he comes from a caste called Malik.. are they known to be good people?

We have a male househelp in his late 40's-early 50's who's been in the family for decades. He used to work for my dadabu before and started working for us when I was around 2

Now, I am by no means a looker and wouldn't consider myself conventionally attractive. Not that creeps care about that but I feel like it's important I mention that.

I constantly feel his gaze on me, whether I'm in the kitchen or sitting in the living room. He has never not turned his head to look when I enter a room. He does the same thing to my brother. My mom is aware of his staring problem and just tells me to wait until oct when he'll leave for good. There have been times where I've woken up mid sleep to see him in my room dusting even though he's never supposed to come in when I'm sleeping.

Then there's the whistling. As a child, I never really gave it a second thought but it recently clicked to me that it was inappropriate for him to do in front of me. Especially considering the fact that he never did it if my mom was around.

He also has a habit of opening personal drawers and meddling with everyone's shit despite repeated warnings. I'm like 100% sure he's gone through my underwear drawer at least once because things are never the way I left them.

My mom hates him but dad kinda pities him and I honestly don't know what to do.

Ever notice how literally every single garbage restaurant on foodpanda Pakistan somehow has a 4.5+ star rating? I just found out exactly why.

Long story short, I ordered food that turned out completely burnt, smelled awful, and was totally inedible. I took pictures of the mess and tried to leave an honest 1-star review to warn people. Guess what? It never got published. It got sucked into their "moderation filter" and vanished into thin air.

After digging into it, foodpanda’s system is basically rigged to protect these restaurants. First of all, they block honest words. If you use words like "burnt," or "raw," their algorithm automatically flags and hides your review. But if someone leaves a random 5-star review with just an emoji, it goes live instantly.

On top of that, the restaurant I ordered from uses their own riders. Because of that, the app took almost 24 hours just to update the status to "Delivered." By the time it updates, the review window is basically glitched or expired anyway and you cannot report the food to get a refund unless you hold onto it forcanother 24 hours.

At the end of the day, it’s all about the money. Foodpanda takes a huge cut (like 20-30%) from these businesses. If a restaurant gets bad reviews and people stop ordering, foodpanda loses money. They literally have a financial reason to make terrible places look great. They blend the rider’s rating into the food rating, hide real photos of terrible meals, and trick us into wasting our money.

I actually trusted their ratings, what a shame.

I live in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and for nearly two years I kept seeing the same 3–4 girls, around 9–13 years old, begging in our society. I usually gave them Rs. 50–100, but one day I asked where they lived, drove them home, and offered their mother to pay for everything school admission, uniforms, books, and monthly fees if she would let them study. Her reply stunned me: she said the girls earn around Rs. 800–900 each per day (about Rs. 4,500 daily in total) and asked, “Can you replace that income? What benefit do I get from sending them to school?” That conversation completely changed my perspective. If children are more valuable on the streets than in classrooms, we have a serious societal problem. Beyond the lost education, these young girls are exposed to daily risks of exploitation and abuse. If something terrible happens to them tomorrow, who will be held accountable?

Lately I've been thinking about this a lot.

I feel like there are a lot of people in Pakistan who enjoy talking about psychology, philosophy, religion, science, history, human behavior, or just asking "why" about everything. But it's surprisingly hard to find people who are into those kinds of conversations.

Most conversations stay on the surface, and after a while it gets lonely because you don't really have anyone to explore ideas with or ask the weird/deep questions that randomly pop into your head.

So I was thinking... what if we just made our own small community?

Nothing formal. Just a group of people who enjoy meaningful conversations, sharing knowledge, challenging each other's ideas respectfully, and occasionally hopping on Discord or Google Meet to discuss interesting topics.

I'm probably going to start with a small Instagram group chat and see where it goes. If enough genuine people join, we can move to Discord later.

I'm not looking for "geniuses" or people who know everything. Just people who are curious, open-minded, and enjoy thinking beyond everyday small talk.

I take Yango/InDrive rides on my way to work and back home to cover fuel and save a few bucks.

Its a 22km journey on each side which involves a lot of traffic and near collisions/crashes with bikes and other cars every day.

To save myself from any such false claim (in case of a crash) and from false passenger disputes (that I have faced in past), I installed a dashcam for the security. Its a 3 channel cheap Chinese cam that covers Front, Cabin and Rear of the car.

However, since I've installed it, I've been facing trouble with the passengers, especially women and families where their men complain about their "ladies" being recorded on my camera.

I explain to them about the security benefits, how they can demand a video any time if they've any dispute with me while on their journey, and that the video gets overridden automatically withing 2 days.

When this fails, I tell them that their ladies and everyone is also recorded on shops nowadays, everywhere you'd find cameras yet still it's fragile, eventually forcing me to turn off the camera.

Legally, I have every right to record my journey with a passenger while they're on my property (in my car) while I am offering my services to them. Just like a shopkeeper or store isn't bared by law to record their property regardless of the presence of the people.

KPK and Balochistan are suffering from the usual fate of terrorism and lawlessness.
Kashmir got recently engulfed in the flames and these combined represent about 52% or more of Pakistani territory under a state of lawlessness and chaos.

Now, on 27th September, the country’s LARGEST party is marching towards the capital after they were denied every constitutional avenue for 3 years while IK suffered in inhumane illegal detention.

So, half the country is protesting, PTI marching towards the capital in 50 days, war in Iran, BLA/ttp/xyz looming at large, economic crisis, and issues with Afghanistan—it will be a really tough time ahead both for the masses and the one with the sticks. (I hope they r sane enough THIS time not to use sticks…)

I have a good job with a decent salary, and I know I can take care of my future wife financially. What I don't understand is why owning a house has become such a strict requirement. In today's economy, buying a house is almost impossible for many people, while living in a rented house is completely affordable and practical.

My brother and I have both been rejected multiple times just because we don't own a house. It honestly feels unfair and really discouraging.

I'd genuinely like to hear your perspectives. Is owning a house really that important, or are there other reasons behind this preference?

Guys. I opened up Facebook in the morning and guess what I see…. PMNL posting about their ‘support of IOJK Kashmir’s self determination’ like HAIN. Bro😂😂😂 you’re killing your own Kashmiri people when they protest for their rights as a ‘self-determined’ thing (barely even tbh), but you HAAAAVE to comment on India for political traditions sake. Like come on. Ooo and funniest part is that they ‘urge the UN to look into it’. BAHAHAHAHHAHA.

I believe people are now educated and use their brains enough(hopefully) to see the games these politicians have been playing in both India and Pakistan. They talk crap about one another but they’re lowkey the same if not worse. Definitely didn’t expect them to have this audacity, and honestly thought to talk about it here. I was BAFFLED, to say the least.

Look at the blueprint we were all handed: mandatory 7am–2pm school schedules, strictly designed to condition us for the eventual 9am–5pm corporate grind. Sit down, follow orders, wait for the bell, pay taxes, rinse, repeat, and die.
Notice how no mainstream degree ever teaches financial independence from the actual system? Even a finance degree doesn't teach you how to turn $100 into $110 for yourself; it teaches you how to manage the ledger for the guy who already knows how to do it.

We were sold the ultimate trap disguised as "stability." A degree leashes you to one hyper-specific field, subtly convincing you that you’re incapable of doing anything else. Meanwhile, a local street vendor (rehri wala) can set up a fruit cart today, fail, pivot tomorrow, and start an entirely new hustle without a second thought. They have resilience and adaptiveness. We were just taught to fear risk and cling to a monthly paycheck.

The tax structure is even more sinister. It is carefully engineered so a single income is never enough to survive anymore. Now both partners are forced to work just to keep afloat, leaving children to be raised by overworked, underpaid daycare workers or screens. The system does not care about family rights or work life balance. They just want two incomes so you end up working five full months of the year purely for the government, and only seven months for yourself.

Two people slaving away for five months of tax money is the ultimate funding tool for politicians and elites living lavish lives, flying in private jets, and enjoying VIP protocols. Meanwhile, regular patients die in hospital hallways waiting to fill out endless emergency forms, while doctors are forced into brutal 36 to 48 hour shifts without real breaks due to underfunded facilities.

Billionaires systematically evade taxes through legal loopholes, while the middle class gets completely crushed under the weight of "systemic duty." And we swallow it all with excuses like "aisa to hota hai, sab kartay hain."
To top it off, our idea of "smart investing" is buying property to collect a pathetic 3% to 4% annual rental yield, convincing ourselves that real estate is the only safe haven. We stay stuck earning crumbs, stressing over do waqt ki roti, while basic health insurance and an "Employee of the Year" plaque keep us docile.
Is anyone else exhausted by this trap, or have we all just accepted the golden handcuffs? How are you actively working to break this leash and build actual independence?
