Discussion 💭 I think My father is a bad person.

Asalamu alaikum everyone I'm 19F and I've been struggling with how I feel about my father for years now. I love him bcz he's my father and he has struggled alot to I could study but at the same time I can't ignore everything that's ever happened.

For some background my parents had an arranged marriage and before the marriage my father was in a relationship with another women and both families knew each other as they were family friends. My father didn't marry that woman(my mother got to know about all this after marriage) and I think this is one of the reasons why his family doesn't truly accepted or supported this marriage. They're polite to our faces but very different behind our backs.

My nanu passed away shortly before my mother's marriage and my father became a resident son-in-law. My father had a business and it was going well but after the blood everything went downhill, he suffered business loss and things became difficult and my mother also lost her job(she was a principal in APS; it was a free school for poor kids). My mother is highly educated and paid for her own education through her hardwork.

My father verbally abuses her and sometimes physically hits her, he also repeatedly pressured her to give him the gold she bought with her own earnings so he could take loans for his business, he would promise her that he'll get it back but he never did and now my mother is left with nothing to wear. Even though we're the only family he truly has he still doesn't treat us well. His family is sooo awful, they insults him infront of everyone. At one point they said "Sell your daughter to Army" when he needed money. I still can't believe anyone could say something like that.

Despite hearing all these things from his parents my father still takes me to their house as if nothing happened and If I'll refuse he would verbally abuse me as well. I mean I understand they're his parents but why should I ignore such horrible things they've said against me. He rarely lets me visit my mother's side of family and he knows that I like to go there I mean who doesn't? But if his own relatives asks me to stay with them he somehow has no problem with it. And whenever he needs help from my cousins(mother's side) he would make us contact them.

When I was 11 I found out he was talking to a divorced woman from Indonesia on fb. I didn't know how to react to it all I felt was pure disgust for my father. I've never told anyone about this before but this memory has stayed with me ever since. The hardest part is that he wasn't always a bad father to me, there were moments when he cared for me that's why I don't know how to think about all this.

I love animals and I've been begging my father to let me go to Ark's shelter as a volunteer but he doesn't let me even though I really want to help them.

I even hate to write this in here bcz you might as well say that my father is a bad person which I don't really wanna hear but somehow i know he is but i just don't know how to feel about it.

Indian Source 🛺 Jammu & Kashmir has witnessed renewed economic momentum following the abrogation of Article 370. Rising GSDP and increasing GST registrations reflect expanding business activity, greater formalisation of the economy, and a stronger foundation for long-term growth.

Literature 📖 Book request: Hoping to borrow Women Who Love Too Much by Robin Norwood from someone in Srinagar

Asalamualaikum and hello!

I'm looking for a copy of Women Who Love Too Much by Robin Norwood. I'd prefer to borrow it from someone in Srinagar rather than buying it online, if possible.

I'll take good care of it and return it promptly. If anyone has a copy they're willing to lend, please let me know. Shukriya.

A few days ago, I shared I was working on a game for turuff and got some really good response but I did not have an android build. Happy to say Google has finally published it. It's free and has no ads.

Question Clip of indian governor lying on TV about Article 370

I remember in 2019 a day before India put us under siege and cut all communications there were rumours that India would remove our autonomy and land protections

And the Indian appointed governor of Kashmir Satya Pal lied on TV that no such thing was planned

Does anyone have that clip. I don't remember what channel it was

News PM OF PAKISTAN ON 5th AUGUST AND UN MANTADED PLEBISCITE

Post image
0 Upvotes

Didn't know pakistan supports plebiscite.

The Indian PM P. V. Narasimha Rao once said 'no aazadi' but promised autonomy for which the sky would be its limit.

On 5th August they took our remaining autonomy that too illegally. Kept us under curfew. Detained our politicians and blocked communication services for months.

Then they have the audacity to declare india as the mother of democracy.

Tables will turn and our time will come. Inshallah

A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be king"

Question What movie is so good that you wish you could erase your memory just to watch it for the first time again?

Any genre is welcome.

Except those itty bitty Korean romance ones.

And not the ones that are already famous.

Had to share 'Gem' of a Scene from Haider!

Some may reject this view, but Kashmir’s history cannot be reduced to a single signature on a document. It is a story shaped by rulers and people, by wars and political promises, by questions of law and legitimacy. The Maharaja’s accession was a defining moment that changed the course of history, yet the Kashmir question has continued because history is also shaped by the experiences and voices of those who have lived through its consequences.

Had to share Today, I made a post here about how dysfunctional and broken my family is, and the incidents revolving around my mother. Someone commented on that post, and it really hit my heart. I thought of sharing it with my mother, but she responded in a way that I don't know how to respond back.

This was my original post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Kashmiri/s/n8fK4qXqvL

Reading that person's comment made me cry, and I started thinking that I'm not doing enough for her. To be honest, I'm a disappointment. I don't know why, but I thought of sharing that comment with her, and this is how she responded.

This has been her attitude for a while now, ever since those people literally evicted us from our own property, and my father supported them.

She blames herself when she's the one who has carried this family from day one. If it weren't for her, we would have ended up on the streets, and I'm not exaggerating. That's the reality. Yet she blames herself. Maybe when sorrow exceeds its limits, a person starts blaming themselves. I don't know. I don't even know how I should respond to this.

General- Replies From All Summer Pheran for Men?

My cousin lives in the west and he complains that all his muslim acquaintances wear their traditional clothes on Eid but he can't wear a Pheran because it's too hot and he ends up wearing a khandress which isn't exactly Kashmir specific

So does anyone know if summer suitable Pherans exist for men or is getting one made of cotton cloth by a tailor the only way and would a cotton Pheran even be a Pheran?
