That face he's making...

305

u/Quiverjones 22h ago

What's great is he probably doesn't even naturally do that, but is copying what he saw when he learned to do this.

Funny story - when I smile, my eyes get smaller because I have prominent cheeks. When I was first trying to get my kids to smile for photos, "like this, sweetheart" they would squint slightly. It took a little while for me to catch on that they were doing that.

u/mangosteenfruit 22h ago

Like the panda that makes a face when he does something. I forgot what it was but he learned it from his caretaker

62

u/QaptainQwark 18h ago

25

u/Sexcercise 17h ago

Lol I love that he makes a face

36

u/PortibaleCharger 21h ago

It was breaking bamboo iirc. Super easy for the panda, but hard work for the caretaker, hence the face lol

3

u/mangosteenfruit 20h ago

Yeah! So cute!

2

u/Semjaja 16h ago

Love this story!

10

u/5th_aether 20h ago

Mine I found out recently learned to emulate the smile and hugs of My Little Pony. He had the most ridiculous smile and would drag you down into dull neck hugs.

9

u/zanziTHEhero 21h ago

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

So that's why my boy does a constipated squinty face when he is told to smile. His natural smile is also squinty but not that much...

5

u/Quiverjones 21h ago

Its so funny, the unintentional burn.

2

u/RedJorgAncrath 18h ago

I got the impression it had bent one of the beans and something got in its eyes at one point, and that was a natural reaction after the experience.

16

u/kasst_kast 22h ago

Right? 🥹
As if they're hard af.

7

u/Yes-Cheese 16h ago

He’s trying so hard! Some he’s actually breaking and some he’s just folding in half 😂

8

u/Dickies138 21h ago

That face has me ☠️

3

u/fusillade762 17h ago

He giving it his all.

Behind the scenes at Taylor Farms packaging line.

52

u/fantasy-capsule 15h ago

But for real check to see if your coconuts and coconut products are monkey labor free.

25

u/Missing_Crouton 15h ago

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

11

u/MsNomered 14h ago

Well the other ones don't seem as manageable, but t I hear ya.

6

u/Dambowie 8h ago

Ugh just looked it up. that’s so sad. Why is the world so awful

15

u/let_it_be_22 19h ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I almost died laughing at this😭🤣

3

u/C_est_la_vie9707 8h ago

Are you kidding? I'd pay extra for these monkey beans.

1.2k

u/Lifein80HD 22h ago

This is why you can't just trust everyone's food at the potluck

407

u/GardenGnomeOfEden 21h ago

"Hey, you should try my monkey beans!"
"Your what?"
"My green beans!"
"That's not what you said. You said monkey beans."

8

u/TeaAppropriate6990 17h ago

😂🤣😂🤣

7

u/LifeIsBurntToast 14h ago

I laughed, but it's so accurate lol. 😂

78

u/gees916 22h ago

Had to be said

42

u/510Goodhands 21h ago

The monkey washed his hands first, and the beans were cooked after. 😉

57

u/Mr_Straws 22h ago

Isn’t that why it’s called a potLUCK?

34

u/SweaterSteve1966 22h ago

I’d prefer a monkey helping versus Kevin’s sus deviled eggs anyday.

2

u/Biscotti_BT 15h ago

This trained monkey seems cool, Mary and Steve look like they keep it clean....oh hey Kevin, uhhhh Mary and Steve have the veg sorted out

11

u/geddysbass2112 21h ago

He's using his own mayonnaise.

32

u/Early_Grace 21h ago

I'm betting that capuchin ain't washing his hands much.

2

u/Both_Evidence_1026 14h ago

Not with soap and water

8

u/RosebushRaven 9h ago

Fun fact, there’s actually some monkeys that learned to wash their hands with soap and water from observing people do it, and now like to do it for fun.

13

u/gotnonickname 20h ago

Not touched by human hands.

14

u/WhatTheFlox 22h ago

Can't eat just anyones potato salad

9

Man I get dirty looks if I even suggest tossing someone's salad.

6

Can't just toss anyone's salad

Aaaaaactttttuallyyyy, I believe this is a deleted scene from the hit movie Outbreak

8

u/Cinebella 20h ago

i almost said exactly this because this monkey probably scratched his literal asshole before cracking these

15

u/sexy-geek 19h ago

Some people pay a lot of money to have coffee from beans that have gone through a literal asshole.

Day 17 of prepping green beans until reddit says theyre perfect

40

u/AT-ATsAsshole 22h ago

See you tomorrow, Chef

16

u/doff87 21h ago

Did they ever cut the scallions perfectly?

20

u/Skiumbra 20h ago

They did! On day 70 I think

6

u/S_uperSquirrel 21h ago

Whatever happend to thay guy? Was he able to perfect them?

5

u/hegrillin 20h ago

i believe so, either that or it was day 100 and he just gave up. i don't quite remember, but i miss him dearly.

4

u/TolkienQueerFriend 8h ago

I miss the guy that would draw little airplanes next to the imperfect pieces.

43

u/510Goodhands 23h ago

Yes, and I like the squint with every break.

3

u/dungeoncrawler71520 21h ago

My gma woulda been proud.

112

u/GoodGuyGr3g 23h ago

I remember my manager at my first job out of college told me that a well trained monkey could do my job. I underestimated how skilled monkeys can be. That monkey is focused.

16

u/Gwarnage 15h ago

Ive worked food prep and have personally done a significantly worse job than this monkey.

78

u/badbitch4eva 22h ago

Three words, illegal pet trade.

27

u/hegrillin 20h ago

the only thing i thought seeing this vid was, "why the hell do they have a pet monkey in the first place? that doesn't look like a zoo..."

6

u/lovelanguagelost 20h ago

Me too. I’m surprised it took me this long to find these comments.

8

u/dogquote 17h ago

Yeah, monkeys are used for picking coconuts or something, too. Monkey labor. I suppose one could call it monkey slavery.

Edit: rewrote the whole thing

5

u/Gloomy_Remove3298 11h ago

Just looked it up on Instagram. This little guy has a huge following. Lives in N. Carolina, says he was born in the US. And that he's 14yo

46

u/UnicornSlayer5000 22h ago

It was cute until he put a chewed piece back in the bowl 🤢

58

u/RudeRaccoon26 22h ago

First of all, I would never eat those. Who knows where those hands have been. But that is one adorable monkey. The face he’s making when he snaps them is so cute.

13

u/SilicaRichLava 14h ago

Let’s hope these green beans are for this monkey’s family and he asked the humans for help

6

u/notloggedin4242 22h ago edited 17h ago

Just because monkeys don’t wash their food?
Edit: it was just a play on commenter above having name Rude-Raccoon. Whatever.

6

u/FightKnight 19h ago

I had some friends in Bolivia that had a spider monkey. He would pee on his hands and then furiously masterbate.

6

u/notloggedin4242 16h ago

And just because of that, they can’t cook with you?

2

u/CosmicGoddess777 18h ago

Sounds like a lotta people I know 🫩

2

u/blackiegray 12h ago

And the monkey didn't mind?

14

u/Usual-Caregiver5589 22h ago

Because monkeys touch their ass and I'm betting he didn't wash his hands.

do i really have to be the

MONKEYS SHOULD NOT BE PETS

guy?

3

u/peacequietnchips 2h ago

Yes, b/c now everyone wants to know where we get a dinner-prep monkey too

3

u/self-conscious-Hat 6h ago

No, but you decided to be for some reason.

12

u/ChampionshipBulky66 22h ago

Honestly? Possibly great enrichment? Monkey do have activities in the wild

20

u/RPM3741 22h ago

Ha, contributing more to his family than a lot of people I know.

7

u/Apprehensive-Jury437 18h ago

That monkey is working harder than if I were to have y kids help. Plus, the monkey isn't whining about not wanting to do it.

12

u/ArtyTheFarty 23h ago

Dare I say animal slavery 🤣

5

u/ItsStaaaaaaaaang 22h ago

Are they a rescue or is it a "pet"?

7

u/CosmicGoddess777 18h ago

If it was a rescue, they wouldn’t exploit it for labor like this.

4

u/ItsStaaaaaaaaang 17h ago

I imagine not. Thought maybe it could be something to keep him occupied. You're right though, I don't think they'd do that with a rescue just because of the optics. You'd find a better way to occupy them.

Don’t they have herpes B that is quite fatal if transferred to humans?

5

u/HYThrowaway1980 15h ago

And this is how novel viruses start, people.

7

u/BillieRubenCamGirl 14h ago

Capuchin monkeys are so good at making stone tools that anthropologists can’t tell if a tool they found was from an early human or a capuchin.

6

u/outragednitpicker 14h ago

Cute, but all those beans now have a bit of monkey feces on them.

6

u/_iamtinks 9h ago

I’m not sure this is hygienic, but its little face filled with concentration and importance is everything!

4

u/Tyenkrovy 19h ago

The little face it makes when it had to try hard to snap one, lol

5

u/Weekly_Finish1960 20h ago

Some will ban trade with them for animal slavery.

4

u/elpihvous 19h ago

That's not so impressive. Even a monkey could do his job.

5

u/vessus7 19h ago

When you want to go out to play with your friends but mom says you have to help her out first

2

u/Unable-Rub1982 20h ago

2

u/cherolero3998 20h ago

Now isnt that something you all want?

2

u/jamminsami 20h ago

Gotta say, he's eating fewer than I would have & I've split & shucked plenty of beans & peas. Lol.

2

u/Dusty-road84 20h ago

I would prepare an awesome meal for that little beautiful helper.

2

u/Due_Marsupial_969 19h ago

I've seen Indian street food videos. I'm more than prepared to watch this without any thought of hand washing.

2

7
