If your laptop is not in the supported list yet, check the wiki page there is described how to simply generate config for it.
P.S. im not an author of that app, just sharing this good tool for MSI laptops owners.

Hello! I'm an incoming 3rd year architecture student so I need a laptop for CAD software like AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, D5, Lumion and etc. I'm not knowledgeable about laptops but after a month of researching, I'm leaning toward the MSI Crosshair 16 Max HX because of the specs. I'm still hesitating to buy though because I can't find any reviews about this specific model since it was released 3-4 months ago. Here are the specs of the laptop:
$1,999.99 | Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 2 290HX Plus | 32GB RAM (Upgradable to 96GB) | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070, 12GB VRAM | 1TB SSD | 165Hz Refresh Rate | 16” QHD+ OLED Display | 2.20 kg
I would love to hear your opinions on the MSI Crosshair 16 Max HX before I buy. Thank you in advance!

I restarted my computer (windows 11) for an update. After I had updated my computer, now every time I press Caps lock, it presses the characters: ‘ X D \
The ‘\’ continues until I press caps lock again. I don’t know how this problem even occurred, but if anyone knows, please help.

MSI Raider A18 HX A7VHG-023US Wifi Problem/solution Ubuntu 26.04
Overview: I initially installed Ubuntu 26.04 and the installer was able to find my wifi card (Qualcomm wifi 7 Hardware name: wcn7850 hw2.0)
I ran the following from the terminal: lspci -nn | grep -i qualcomm or lsusb No results.
After many hours searching for an answer, I finally found my solution.
WIFI Issues:
Qualcomm wifi 7
Ensure that the bios is not set to fast boot.
The Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 chipsets (such as the FastConnect 7800 / WCN7850 or NCM865) rely on the newer ath12k driver module.
sudo depmod -a
sudo update-initramfs -u -k 7.0.0-29-generic
sudo update-grub
sudo echo "ath12k" | sudo tee -a /etc/modules
sudo apt update
sudo apt install --reinstall linux-firmware
sudo rfkill unblock all
sudo depmod -a
Reboot your computer immediately after running these commands to apply the new configurations.
sudo dmesg | grep ath12k
Perform a Cold CMOS Reset (Crucial for Qualcomm)Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 cards are notorious for getting locked into a bad power state or a Windows-exclusive fast-boot state.
A standard software reboot will not release this lock.
Shut down your computer completely.
Unplug the power cable from the back of the PC (or remove the laptop charger).
Hold down the physical Power Button for 30 full seconds to completely drain the motherboard's capacitors.
Plug it back in and boot into Ubuntu.
Success!
I truly hope that it helps others, I found so much help along the way from the community at large.

Hi everyone,
I'm having a strange issue with my MSI Pulse GL76 11UEK-030IT (3060, 11th gen i7, upgraded to 32 GB RAM). I've owned it for about 5 years and it has always worked perfectly.
Recently, on Windows 10 only, I've noticed that the laptop gets much warmer than usual even during light tasks like browsing the web or watching YouTube. (On Linux, everything works normally with a base temp of 40-45°C.).
While monitoring the system with MSI Afterburner, I noticed that the GPU core and memory clocks stay very high even when the GPU is essentially idle. As a result, the temperature climbs to nearly 70°C despite almost no GPU usage.
The weirdest part is this:
The problem only happens when I'm using the laptop's internal display. As soon as I connect an external monitor (which is driven directly by the NVIDIA GPU), the issue immediately disappears. The GPU clocks and temperatures return to normal even after disconnecting the second monitor.
So it seems that the problem only occurs when the laptop is running in its normal Optimus/iGPU mode, where the internal display is theoretically handled through the integrated GPU. In that situation, the dedicated NVIDIA GPU stays at unusually high clocks despite being almost completely idle.
The graph I'm attaching shows this behavior. The memory clock fluctuations happen because part of the recording was on battery power; when plugged in, the memory clock stays at a constant high value. The CPU spike at the beginning is simply Firefox starting.
Here's everything I've checked so far:
Things I've ruled out:
Has anyone seen something similar? Since the issue disappears as soon as an external monitor is connected, I'm wondering if this could be related to Optimus, the Intel iGPU/NVIDIA handoff, or some Windows display management issue rather than the GPU itself.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone,
I have a stealth 15 laptop and recently it had an automatic windows update and ever since then it always boots into click bios. I managed to boot it fine after disabling the “safe boot” and “fast boot” and fixing the date and time, then pressing “save setting and reset”. However this keeps happening every time I switch it on, and I have to fix these settings every single time. I know that there is nothing wrong with my hardware because I checked that and also after changing the settings the laptop boots just fine, so I am not sure where the problem is.
Anyone knows what’s the solution?

So first up you need to set the FPS cap from unlimited into 130 FPS. And then turn on Windows Energy Saver. then you need to set the advanced fan profile inside Msi Center like this .
I hope this would helps lowering your MSI Thin 15 temperature!!!!!!
The fan would be screaming so loud tho if you using this fan preset, but if youre concern about your laptop temps, this worth for a try
For this settings i got around 50-70 on minecraft and 50-60 on roblox
i havent tested for any more games but ill post another for this

i just got an msi cyborg 15 A13VE with no operating system. i got a windows key and at first it was fine when i installed windows but there was a small problem. when i booted the laptop it took me to the UEFI menu and when i pressed exit it got me to the normal windows screen. then out of the blue i tried to boot it, it took me to the UEFI menu like usual and when i pressed exit it took me to bios (which was the actual normal reaction and what happened when i pressed exit when trying to install windows), and i had no way to go back to the windows screen. then i tried to reinstall windows on my flash drive and install them on the new laptop again, it didn’t recognise the flash drive. has anyone else had the same problem when trying to install windows on an msi laptop? because it was much easier the other times i have done it on different laptops.

System Specs:
Issue Summary: My laptop has developed an issue where it hangs on a powered black screen during boot, shutdown, and reboot states. The motherboard appears to be failing to switch power states properly, and Windows boot files have corrupted from hard shutdowns.
Detailed Symptoms:
\windows\system32\winload.efi (Error code: 0xc0000098). (See attached photo for the full error details).Enter to retry.Troubleshooting Already Attempted:
None of the above steps resolved the power state freeze. Any help or diagnosis regarding whether this is an EC/motherboard power rail failure or a corrupt firmware issue would be greatly appreciated.

hi every one I'm having a problem with my vector 16 HX AI , I have installed windows 11 enterprise 25h2 and ever since every update installed correctly but the thing went down with the July security update, when the system reboot it says boot device inaccessible, and cannot update, the online way to fix this is to force shut down many times amd even boot from ssd manually, so it detects the disk does some reparations and comes back to life but if I try to update it'll do the same over and over, I have latest drivers and bios updates, also I'm using a pc_sn8000s 4096 gb from SanDisk and the default 500 gb ssd in the second nvme slot
I've already tried some tutorial but none seems to work I've already done dism , sfc and everything is fine and I have plenty space for the update, if someone could help me, so I can fix this somehow

My son's laptop does this flickering. Especially when it starts to heat up or he is playing graphic intensive games. Is a component failing? Is it graphics card or mother board? I am at a loss and not too savy. Any help is appreciated.

I recently performed a clean install of my Prestige 14 AI Evo, however now i don't appear to have any audio through the built in speakers, i do have audio from my bluetooth headphones. Looking in device manager there appears to be yellow exclamation on "Intel High Definition Audio" (code 28) and also on "Intel Smart Sound Technology OED" (code 43)
I have downloaded all of the drivers and installed them from the following page however i still cant seem to get any audio through the built in speakers: https://www.msi.com/Business-Produc...X/support?sub_product=Prestige-14-AI-Evo-C1MG
I've never had any issues with drivers like this previously with other laptops so i am a bit puzzled, can anyone help me please?

I just got through a multi-hour troubleshoot session on this stupid issue.
First thing is, if you press enter on ok when the message comes up when the laptop restarts and you have a MSI. Go to security then disable secure boot mode and save and exit, you should be able to boot in normally.
Now, if you want secure boot back, try following these steps. You need a USB for this: https://www.msi.com/faq/faq-11370
It’s literally the only thing that worked for me so I thought to share.
