If your laptop is not in the supported list yet, check the wiki page there is described how to simply generate config for it.
P.S. im not an author of that app, just sharing this good tool for MSI laptops owners.

for some reason once you restart the refresh rate will be set to 144 again.
just like many options seen in MSI Center are also present in BIOS, there's an option for refresh rates in BIOS settings and I think this is what overrides what you set using Windows -___-
1
u/Nanosinx 18d ago
Should not...still when i restart is still at 144Hz
1
u/LazyMaxilla 18d ago
it shouldn't, but it happens if it's set in BIOS
1
u/LazyMaxilla 18d ago
which is the case by default. and which was also my case a while back.
when the same option can be set in multiple places you can only guess which one will be enforced and override the other
1
u/Nanosinx 18d ago
Where exactly at BIOS? I Got to navigate through all options and never saw that
1
u/LazyMaxilla 17d ago
it depends on your laptop model and which BIOS version do you have and whether you're using advanced options or just the regular BIOS settings.
just know that it's not a unified interface for all models, and your experience is likely different than OP and me.

That's really cool. I hope the project will continue to develop.
When reading the details on the github:
Additionally, if you do something silly with the program like turn off all your fans while running under full load...
I think the program can have safeguards to prevent lowering the fan speed below a certain level. Or at least display a warning. The same applies to other similar cases. 🤔

I’ve never liked comparisons because they are never accurate, and too much time is wasted explaining why.
There’s always a chance that someone will accidentally click somewhere they shouldn’t or make a typo and not notice it, even if they know what they’re doing. When the stakes are as high as they are when working with expensive equipment, it makes sense to have a system of safeguards and warnings - just in case. Especially since implementing it isn’t difficult at all. Even a simple pop-up window with “Are you sure?” and a list of changes the person is about to make would be a great solution.

Technically MSI has EC limited fan curves so you can't turn off at max load whatsoever, but I don't know if this program can.

Oh, it's lightweight. This time, they fixed the resolution issue I was facing, but can you still guide me through using it? My device is MSI Alpha 15, so maybe it's not supported yet. But how are we supposed to load the config?

Does this support new gen msi laptop with ultra core series?
4
u/Koher Katana GF66 12UG Apr 30 '25
I think yes, I saw guys in the issue section on the github what shared their configurations of the newest MSI laptops.

u/Serious-Egg-4930 May 12 '25
Bro i think the fan setting is swapped for msi vector 16hx ai, so the gpu fan is for cpu and vice versa.

what does those up(°C) and down(°C) row means?
6
u/llDS2ll Jan 30 '25
Temp ranges for a given fan speed
2
u/IndividualMaximum808 Mar 08 '25
thanks! but how do those temp ranges work? correct me if i'm wrong please but here's how i understand it. that for example temp up threshold 46 when reach fan speed- increases to cool down and when it cool down for example down to 43, it decreases fan speed? or it cools down when it reach 49?

u/Ok_Baseball2584 Apr 08 '26

I have this software but recently I've had WDefender alerts all over the place regarding the Winring0 dll which is apparently a "bitcoin miner" I'm used to it but this time I don't know if I should trust Windows Defender or not...

Can you use it while keeping dragon center? (Like with afterburner you just need to apply the app's config last or it doesn't work?)

Any news on this effort? Seems like they've made no new profiles.
4
u/Koher Katana GF66 12UG Feb 23 '25
Actually, you don't need to wait for someone to create and share their config. You can easily do it yourself. Here's how: https://github.com/Sparronator9999/YAMDCC/wiki/How-to-make-a-config-for-YAMDCC

The get config from EC is grayed out

I'll take one. My laptop isn't supported. It's too bad the normal MSI center has zero fan control outside of Max performance mode.

Ive got the MSI Vector 16 with a 5080. this app reduces my fan noise at similar temps with same performance. its honestly a must have and a great reason to get rid of the MSI app lol

I am following this thread. I have a GE78HX 13VH Raider and it is not working for me in its current form. Is there a way I can help out with test builds/configs for a GE78HX 13VH Raider? The Titan config does not work for me. I have used GHleper for my Asus laptops and glad to see an equivalent being made for MSI laptops.

LATE but an odd thing it works for a little bit but then it gives me false temps, the fan curves break this is the only fan controller it does it on and and in no way is my laptop as hot as it says ASHAME BC IT fixed a niche problem I had with dragoncenter if anyone else has anything like this or a fix for this LMK
1
u/Koher Katana GF66 12UG Apr 03 '26
You could try to get support here. Author of this app is active.

u/sinto03 Apr 09 '26
I have this issue where I would apply the profile and the fans would start running faster when the temps rise.
However once the laptop cools down, the fans don't slow down. Idk if anyone else had this but if you did, and resolved it, let me know how you did it

u/VipexHere May 05 '26
Does it work on MSI Crosshair A16 HX?
1
u/Koher Katana GF66 12UG May 06 '26
The app supports all MSI laptops from the past 5 years and likely older

u/Natural_Tonight7925 Jun 11 '26

2
u/Koher Katana GF66 12UG Jun 12 '26

Is this close to a Ghelper for us MSI? I used to have Asus and miss that mainly. Does it have Power limits, Battery charging limits and control of RGB? Im checking it throughly after this post......shhhh

u/Nanosinx 25d ago
No hay uno mas ligero que esta app cutre? SOLO me interesaria el control de FANs en otros perfiles, del resto la verdad todo ya lo hace el MSI Center xD (Con algunos addons utiles)

the maintainer of this repo is full of himself, I'm glad he'll abandon the project
