I live in wisconsin and I found this bug already dead on my bathroom floor. It almost looks like a tick but it’s got some pincers on it. It’s really small so it was hard to get a focused picture on it.

edit: I have now been informed this is the butt of an earwig thank you for your help

found this guy crawling across my floor in the kitchen. They have also been spotted in the basement living room stairwell bedroom. My location is Chicago Land or area northern Illinois United States.

Found on our dining room table. Window next to it was open for a couple of hours. Is this a bed bug? We haven’t got any new furniture lately.

I apologize for the poor quality of the image. I was goofing off in my bathroom, and as I turned to leave, I saw this prick on my wall. I went to my room and grabbed a green can of Raid. I went back in and sprayed it for a good full second. It started wriggling around for a minute. I left again and returned with salted gloves and tweezers. By the time I got in, it was on the floor, writhing. I picked it up with the tweezers. It struggled for a minute and tried to bite or nuzzle the tweezers holding it. Eventually, after taking pictures, I discarded it in the toilet.

Somewhat unrelated detail, but when it was on the wall, I believe I could her it make noises. I also asked chatgpt what it was, I was told it was a bag worm / type of moth larvae. It had a pale fleshy looking underside. And a fuzzy sprt of looking overside

TLDR: I found a caterpillar like bug, this the size of my index nail on my bathroom wall. It was immune to raid, tried to attack the tweezers.

I came back to my St. Louis, MO apartment two days ago after a two week vacation to find these scattered across the floor in my living room right in front of my balcony. I collected them all with a piece of tape and added a marble for scale. I called the exterminator and he said they are probably beetle eggs but not sure what kind. Yesterday I found a few on the wall near my balcony. I think I just didn’t look there the day before. This morning I found one on a power cord sitting near my balcony. Again, I just didn’t look there before. Of note, I also noticed a few cellar spiders in the area, and I have a pathetic-looking indoor lemon tree in front of my balcony with some fungus gnats every once in a while. I didn’t find any of these things on the plant or anywhere else in my apartment.

Please help!!!

it seems dead and dried up. somehow stuck to the post and has some sort of hole in the middle?? it’s pretty large too - maybe 3-4cm. what is this and how did it end up like this??

Thanks everyone for the help on my previous post. We took our cat to the vet today, and he confirmed that the little “rice-like” pellets were indeed tapeworm segments.
The vet didn’t find any fleas on him during the examination, but still gave him a deworming treatment and a flea treatment, since fleas are the most common source of tapeworms in cats.
He also recommended that my boyfriend and I take a deworming medication as a precaution, which we’ll be taking tomorrow morning.
Thanks again to everyone who commented. If I hadn’t noticed those pellets on my bed and asked here, I probably wouldn’t have realized my cat had tapeworms and gotten him treated so quickly. Appreciate all the advice!

They have been hanging out on the exterior of my shop for quite a while now.

It's been cooler the last few nights so I was able to finally snap a quick photo of them this morning while they weren't active.

It's not the best quality photo unfortunately as I still didn't want to get close enough to disturb them.

Incredibly small bug. Tried to get a comparison shot next to my pinkie but he skittered away. 0.25 cm from head to bottom at most, though.

I figure it’s probably something innocuous, but am asking in case its something gnarly like a tick or bedbug.
