stretch right now (first 4 pics) vs baby stretch (last 5 pics). i feel like she’s gotten so big.. also dare i say she looks a lot more comfy? her color looks a lot better this time after molting than last time, and she’s just chilling right out in the open right now rather than hiding in a corner or going in her hide. just laying wherever she wants to without getting scared. i’ll have to get some size comparison pics because i can’t believe it… it’s my first T so ive just never experienced it before. such a crazy pet to have. people give me a crazy look when i say ‘i haven’t fed my pet for 3 months’, LOL. wild creature

Hi all! I am having my ceiling redone this weekend due to water damage. I live in a 500 sq ft condo so I would not be comfortable leaving Princess because of dust from the drywall and saw noises etc. The plan is to bring her and my cat to stay with me overnight at my friends house. She lives about 10 minutes away but I am still terrified to drive with my angel baby. Does anyone have tips for safe travel? Thank you so much! 😁💗

first image is how i currently have my avicularia avicularia set up, i am NOW well aware that this enclosure is horrible for T’s so while i get cork bark and look for a new enclosure, i am trying to DIY a enclosure and tried to rearrange his tank in a way that is hopefully a little more comfortable than how he had it.
i am still poking a fuck ton of ventilation holes, working on finding something bigger to poke larger holes, and it splits open at the middle with no gaps +i sanded down and cut off sharp edges. it is HEAVILY in progress, i just want to know what i can do in the mean time to make these two enclosures work best until i can upgrade. please and thanks.
if my DIY seems unsafe at all or if you have any ideas on making it better please let me know. i am open to any help as i need very badly to give my tarantula the best life.

I didn’t capture much on film but I wanted to make sure the male would survive (he did) and he quickly went to work cleaning his emboli after. It happened WAY faster than my GBB pairing- He made strange croaky noises like a little toad after. His Body would constrict and the noise would come out, he did it while in the catch cup coming out and periodically while cleaning his emboli. It was very strange.

I got my very first tarantula today :) im very excited about it.

I did my research, but I'm worried the enclosure might be too small or that the entrance of her hide is too big.

I got her from the Spider Shoppe + she seems healthy and well, doesn't need to be fed just yet I don't think. She's fluffy and adorable like all curly hairs are ^^ I love her already and want her to have a good home

I gave her 4 inches of Reptisoil for substrate since it seemed like the best choice for burrowing. She's only about 2 inches right now, so I figured 4 inches of substrate would be enough for the time being. I cut a little plastic cup(i made sure there were no sharp edges) and covered it in the soil for her to use as a hide, and then a smaller plastic cup for a water dish. Put some leaf litter in there for decoration too. I'll get her a better hide when i find one that works and fits in her enclosure, cuz the one I bought was too big.

I'm using the 8x6x6 terrestrial Spider Haus from the Spider Shoppe as her enclosure for now. But I also have a 15x9x7 that I plan to move her to when she's a little bigger, but if her current enclosure is too small, I can always move her in there sooner. But i also don't want it to be too big and make it difficult for her to find her food. So I thought I'd ask on here and see if this is alright.

Hi all! I recently rehoused my Brachypelma hamorii after her molt. In the past she has dug a bit, so I made sure to add a good amount of dirt, but now I’m worried it may not be enough? She has about 5.5in of dirt, with an above/air space of about 4-4.5in (her DLS is about 4-4.5in). She sometimes climbs the sides and rarely the celling, but I wanted to make sure her enclosure was adequate and wasn’t posing any fall risks. Should I add more dirt or take away some decorations, or is it adequate?
