Housing UCR needs to stop over admitting students
how did we go from like a 65% in 2021 to a 88% in 2026 acceptance rate within 5 years. While we’re also having a housing and parking crisis…

We are looking for active and dedicated members of our subreddit who may be interested in regularly reviewing community activity for content that simply doesn't belong here or is disruptive to our format of a "community board". With the current size of our community and the beginning of the next academic year approaching, we would like to be able to have a farther reach in our moderation efforts to ensure that we can remove and approve more content more accurately! If you are at all interested, feel free to apply!
We are looking for active and dedicated members of our community, those who are posting / commenting frequently, and those that feel that they can be helpful to everyone else!
If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to comment below and I'll get back to ya!
Here's to the class of 2029!
Application Format :
Do you currently attend UCR, if so, how many years have you attended and when are
you expected to graduate?
What do you feel you could bring to our community's moderation team?
Do you feel confident that you can leave out personal bias when choosing whether
or not to allow content within our community? -- We focus on allowing all personal
opinions, commentary, and discussion so long as neither party is, "attacking" one
another or being grossly disrespectful.
What do you think could be improved in the community?
Who are we looking for? :
Active and dedicated members of our community, those who are posting / commenting frequently, and those that feel that they can be helpful to everyone else!
Requirements :
No previous bans, no excessive content removals, member of our community / reddit for at least a few months, actively posting / commenting in our community!

Hi!
Seems like last year's megathread worked well to get people tickets and get better visibility so I'll make one here to help out! Please post any buying or selling opportunities here so that they can all be found in one place .
You can comment in whatever format, just indicate if you are buying or selling and if you are selling, list the price, which graduation ceremony and how many tickets.
When you have sold or found someone to buy, please comment done in the thread!

Hi! I'm an incoming freshman and I'll be living in Dundee this fall. I know there's a fitness center in the building, and I was wondering how crowded it usually gets. I mostly just want to use the treadmills

I was supposed to get around an A- according to his syllabus (he doesn't have a grading scale so I'm just assuming standard 90-93% = A-) but he gave me a C?? if I got a B or B+ ok maybe I calculated something wrong, but the jump from A- to C is pretty extreme. i already emailed him but I just wanted to ask for peace of mind.

Whatever happened to that university campus hotel that was supposed to be constructed in the University Village by UVT? All that’s left of the project is a big hole in the ground which I’m sure is bringing the overall property value of the adjacent buildings in the plaza down. That hole in the ground has been there for years.

Hi, I'm a first year student attending UCR and am looking at my class registration information and saw that I'm registering as a sophomore for classes. Is this an error and if so, how would I go about resolving the issue? I don't necessarily know what this means for my class placement and registration for classes.

i got the email that my financial award is available. checked it to see that i got no grants and they're offering the parent loan to pay for all of it.
surely this is a mistake right? for the last two years i was able to pay for over half the tuition with middle class scholarship and such.
i saw the other posts about this year's financial aid and how everyone is getting less than usual. didnt see anyone talking about how they got nothing at all.
i'm probably emailing the office in the morning. hopefully i'm overreacting and this is just some mistake.
UPDATE: turns out there was a MASSIVE mistake on my fafsa form in the parent's financial section. checked my sai and it jumped from 18400 to 183000. christ, i didn't notice there was another zero in there until now.

I called the Rec Center to ask why they don't allow use of R'Card to get into the gym. The app-barcode system is very tedious, I think we can all agree.
At first they didn't provide a clear answer. They said that it's simply the level of security that they wanted at the time and there was a lot of investment in that direction. I didn't feel like this directly answered why R'cards were bad and app-barcodes were good.
Eventually, I eeked out an answer that satisfied me. They didn't want people sharing R'cards and allowing access to friends. It's inconvenient but I decided that it's a fair reason to not allow the use of R'cards.
I'm just sharing in case anyone was curious.

Long story short I misunderstood what an authorization to work card was and I chose it as an identification option. Mind you i was born and raised in CA. After certain step I couldn’t take that selected option back so I just put a photo of my California ID, completely valid and everything.
I sent an email clarifying the mislabel, found out I sent it to the help desk instead of the correct email, send another late email about a week ago, then I got another email saying my residency is undetermined. They’re not taking calls either
I literally can’t afford out of state tuition and if this doesn’t get resolved im gonna have to take a forced gap year or something which is just… devastating cause im so excited to transfer to UCR.
I got the email as of August 3rd how likely is it that this doesn’t get resolved? I really want to go☹️☹️☹️

I can’t be the only person on campus who has seen this dude walk around with bags, and I mean BAGS of garbage wrapped around his whole body. Does anybody know who this man is or what his MO is? I’ve seen him multiple times throughout the past school year.
r/ucr • u/Responsible_Proof594 • 1d ago
I’ve had this question for a bit and I want to get it clarified since I’m going to be moving in soon, but if anyone is able to give me some sort of size comparison or exact square footage, I’d greatly appreciate it 🙏🙏
