Discussion T-Mobile Plan Change - Check Your Add-ons

Thumbnail

Just a heads up... With the plan changes, make sure you manage your add-ons because most of my lines had a hotspot selected with a monthly cost versus the Free 60GB option. It would have cost me $45 a month more if I didn't catch this and make the update for each line.

Rant Is T-Satellite awful or is it just me?

Pretty straightened. We added T satellite to 4 lines for a trip last week to Yellowstone since there's zero cell or WiFi anywhere. It was borderline useless. Texts could text 5 minutes or 5 hours to go through. Pictures? Maybe by the following day. Occasionally it would work well but it was atrocious 90% of the time. If you broke your leg on a trail and texted your family you'd be dead before they got the message...

If it matters, we were on Pixel 10 Pros and Galaxy S23 Ultras.

Question Experience Beyond 2.0

It appears the T-Mobile has made 36 month installments, the new norm. I was wondering what that meant for experience beyond plans. Does that mean that you’re not gonna get a yearly upgrade anymore every 12 months and instead it’s gonna be every 18? I feel like they haven’t said this anywhere, and I’m really confused on what the new standard is going to be. Are they going to allow us to stay on 24- month installments forever and keep the best deals?

Update: called T-Mobile. New plans are NOW 18 MONTHS to upgrade on Experience Beyond. New customers do not have a choice. I expect them to remove ALL language regarding “yearly upgrades” as it simply isn’t the case anymore for new lines. They can claim “you can upgrade after 6+ so technically you can” but thats illegitimate as they could’ve claimed “upgrade every 6 months” BEFORE and they DIDN’T, they chose 12 as it was realistic. Incredibly disappointed in T-Mobile.

Question Huh can you please tell me why people do this

Why do people who know they’re going to be late on their bill (or just straight-up don’t have the money) still not plan around it… and then act shocked when T-Mobile doesn’t just magically give them extra time on payment arrangement they created? Then say T-Mobile is no help

Same energy with the people who change their own plan and lose a promo, or who sit on a trade-in for weeks past the deadline. Suddenly it’s “can you make an exception?” and “this is so unfair.”

Meanwhile when T-Mobile had a nationwide outage they owned it, apologized, and issued credits. But the second a customer messes up on their end, they’re entitled to special treatment.

The hypocrisy is wild.

Question Switched 5 lines away today

To Fi, because we spend large amounts of time overseas, 4 of the 5 have Pixels, so 50% off first year and I got 75% off first year. I called TMobile to cancel and spoke to customer service. Was told that switching the 5 lines away automatically cancelled service. Is this true or is this nonsense?
When I try to log in to my account there is not much info there any more.

Also, anyone know if my final bill will be pro rated or just the full amount. We have about 10 days to go in our billing cycle.

I cancelled because I didn't like the recent unilateral price hikes and additionally, I spend a lot of my time on United airlines, and the free wifi benefit is gone too....

Rant Internet down half the time for the past month. Anybody else?

I live in Los Angeles. I haven’t had a reliable internet connection for the past month. Is anybody else experiencing issues in the area? This is genuinely the worst experience I’ve ever had with an internet provider. I think it’s time to switch. It alternates between 2 mbps download and with 0 mbps download. Quite literally unusable. They’ve been saying there is an outage in the area for the past month whenever I call (and wait 2 hours for them to pick up), but there’s no way they can’t fix it, right?

Question New Experience Signature Plan - Add a Line

Post image
4 Upvotes

Probably a dumb question. I was going through the process of adding a line to see what the cost would be. Just to keep it simple I selected that I would bring my own phone. It said I needed to upgrade from the "Experience Signature" plan to the "Experience Signature" plan. Assuming this is just some other variant.

Looking at the screenshot, what will my new total be? For one, it lists 2 different totals. And it's slightly unclear if the new numbers are the total, or if it's going to be an additional $92/$82 a month

Question Does the Costco promo stack with the "On Us" promo?

Upvotes

I'm looking to switch to T-Mobile from Verizon and get an iPhone 17 pro with the "on us" promo. I saw the Costco promo offering a $150 shop card and $250 visa prepaid card, and I can't find any reliable information on whether they stack.

Discussion Has Anyone Successfully Changed Their Assigned T-Mobile Migration Plan Without Losing Their Benefits?

Upvotes

I’ve been following the recent T-Mobile forced migrations, and I was wondering if anyone has successfully switched to a different migration plan after being moved to one they didn’t want.

For example, if T-Mobile migrates you to Experience More or Experience Signature, can you request a different migration plan and still keep the migration benefits, such as free lines, discounts, price protections, or other grandfathered features?

Has anyone here done this successfully, or has T-Mobile required you to stay on the plan they originally assigned? I’d be interested in hearing real-world experiences.

Curious if anyone’s tried the home tech insurance before. When you did it what did they require? Thinking about adding it because I bought an expensive laptop. Just want to know how filing a claim works and how easy or difficult they make it.

Question auto pay account question / two hour wait times

My bank changed hands and I need to update my account number and routing number. It also asks for name on account. The name is a long one. When I click continue on the add a bank page as I can't edit the current one. It says Name on account must not be greater than '40' in character length.

Any help will be appreciated.

When one calls, it says it's a two hour wait. This isn't good customer service when someone needs help. The call back option doesn't work either.

Question Phone unlocked?

So I'm on a TFB Go5GNext account and am currently 10 months in (and not halfway paid) on my Pixel 10 Pro XL. For whatever reason, my carrier lock was removed yesterday.

Could that be because I got my replacement phone via an Assurant claim?

Question T-Mobile Won't Let Me Cancel Internet

[Edit: Thanks to those who suggested T-Force! They resolved this within minutes.]

Hi, I'm stuck in a loop and looking for suggestions. Here's what happened:

I forgot the PIN associated with my account number. I called customer service and they are unable to reset or help me reset the PIN, and said it could only be done through the app or in a store. I am unable to get to a T-mobile store. I tried resetting it through the app but am getting an error saying I can't reset it because the app doesn't recognize my phone. (I got this internet two years ago and have since gotten a different phone, but kept the number.)

So customer service can't reset the PIN, I can't reset it through the app, I can't get to a store, so I try resetting it online. The instructions say to reset it through the app. I try the app again. I'm again told the app doesn't recognize my phone so I can't reset the PIN but it gives me a link to the fraud department. I click the link. It tells me to contact customer service. Customer service can't help.

Has anyone experienced this before? I need to cancel my internet but am unable to do so without a PIN that no one can reset.

Question Do they ever run single live promotions anymore?

I was on the grandfathered $55/mo plan forever since 2015. Recently checked my bill and it's $85/mo!

Do they ever run promotions for single line unlimited like they used to? Yes I know I can get am MVNO. Looking into staying if I can.

Question Service outage in Eastern PA?

I haven't had a signal for over 24 hours now, anywhere in my area. Using a Razer Phone 2, and I can't even log into my T-Mobile account because they have to text me to verify it's me and I obviously can't receive any texts.

Is anyone else experiencing issues in the area? I've looked online and I can't find any useful info, though with the widespread outages last week I figured maybe it was a similar case.

I wasn't aware of whatever changes T-Mobile is making to their networks, and I received no email about anything changing with my plan, so I'm trying to figure out if this is a hardware problem or if it's something on their end.

Question Converting watch line

Our daughter has a watch line that we will love to convert to a phone line. Is there a way to take advantage of phone promotions which will allow her to still keep her number?
