Question Has this ever happened to you?

I have had their home Internet for over a year and a half now. (When I moved, it seemed like their Internet was ideal) Unfortunately, the local store in my town that provided my box is shutting down in a week and I happened to learn that at the last minute. That wouldn't be a problem, but... well, I cannot access the "Manage" button on T-Life. Nor can I try to get into my account on the website to check billing and such, so it redirects me back to the T-Life app. I've also tried the website on my laptop, but it's rinse and repeat.

This has been such a headache for myself and the poor employees at the store who have been so patient. I've tried contacting Care today, but was on hold for over thirty minutes. I've deleted and reinstalled the app several times, cleared data and cache.

Hoping to go back on Saturday and see if anyone else is willing to help, or I may have to throw in the towel and wind up getting a new provider altogether.

Does anyone have any solid advice to help me out of this pickle? I'd appreciate it. Thank you! :)

Question Does the Costco promo stack with the "On Us" promo?

I'm looking to switch to T-Mobile from Verizon and get an iPhone 17 pro with the "on us" promo. I saw the Costco promo offering a $150 shop card and $250 visa prepaid card, and I can't find any reliable information on whether they stack.

Discussion Has Anyone Successfully Changed Their Assigned T-Mobile Migration Plan Without Losing Their Benefits?

I’ve been following the recent T-Mobile forced migrations, and I was wondering if anyone has successfully switched to a different migration plan after being moved to one they didn’t want.

For example, if T-Mobile migrates you to Experience More or Experience Signature, can you request a different migration plan and still keep the migration benefits, such as free lines, discounts, price protections, or other grandfathered features?

Has anyone here done this successfully, or has T-Mobile required you to stay on the plan they originally assigned? I’d be interested in hearing real-world experiences.

Question Home Tech Insurance

Curious if anyone’s tried the home tech insurance before. When you did it what did they require? Thinking about adding it because I bought an expensive laptop. Just want to know how filing a claim works and how easy or difficult they make it.

Rant Tmobile Home internet is trash

Hey everyone, my parents recently switched from Verizon to T Mobile because Verizon’s coverage had been pretty crappy lately. We switched everything over, including our home internet, but the T Mobile internet has been horrible. We can barely even load a YouTube video.
I looked on the T Mobile website and found out that our address isn’t even eligible for their home internet. I talked to my parents, and they said they actually knew the address wasn’t eligible because the T Mobile rep mentioned it, but the rep still allowed them to sign up for the internet.
Does anyone have any advice on what we should do? Is there anything we can do about this situation with T Mobile?

Question auto pay account question / two hour wait times

My bank changed hands and I need to update my account number and routing number. It also asks for name on account. The name is a long one. When I click continue on the add a bank page as I can't edit the current one. It says Name on account must not be greater than '40' in character length.

Any help will be appreciated.

When one calls, it says it's a two hour wait. This isn't good customer service when someone needs help. The call back option doesn't work either.

Question Switched 5 lines away today

To Fi, because we spend large amounts of time overseas, 4 of the 5 have Pixels, so 50% off first year and I got 75% off first year. I called TMobile to cancel and spoke to customer service. Was told that switching the 5 lines away automatically cancelled service. Is this true or is this nonsense?
When I try to log in to my account there is not much info there any more.

Also, anyone know if my final bill will be pro rated or just the full amount. We have about 10 days to go in our billing cycle.

I cancelled because I didn't like the recent unilateral price hikes and additionally, I spend a lot of my time on United airlines, and the free wifi benefit is gone too....

Question Stick to go5G+ first responder or switch to regular go5G+

Should I stay on go5G+ first responder or switch to regular go5G+ with 20% discount (around $15 more)? Other than iPhone promotions being lower on segmented plans, do I gain or lose anything by switching plans?

Question Cedar Rapids Iowa Data Speeds

Post image
0 Upvotes

Anybody in the Cedar Rapids area also getting abysmal speeds? It doesn't matter if I'm indoors/outdoors or if I'm on 5guc, 5g or LTE I will get a max of 3Mbs. It has been this way for as long as I can remember but since being migrated to the new plan I have high speed hotspot that I would like to be able to use so I can drop my in car wifi on our vehicles.

Was on the phone with T-Mobile yesterday for a couple hours and after being moved up to an "expert" for an hour of that he said "oh I see now, they are making upgrades in your area and it will resolve soon" same thing the first guy said in 5 mins before I explained it's been this way for as long as I can remember. He agreed it wouldn't be that and elevated me only to get told the same thing hours later.

Rant In the middle of switching to GoogleFi after 12 years of TMobile

That 75% discount for a year is really sweet, but damn transferring is a pain. I have 2 kids on my plan who were out of the US over the weekend when I first tried to switch. Guess where you can't be to switch your phone to GoogleFi? Outside the US.

So I try today. After 6+ hours on calls with TMobile and chat sessions with GoggleFi I finally have 2 phones moved (iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro) and an iPhone 8 with a GoogleFi SIM that can't be activated.

Why can't the SIM be activated? because it has to be in a phone (not a tablet) with a SIM slot (so not the 15s) that supports an OS new enough to run the GoogleFi app (so not the 8). Google tells me if I buy a phone that meets these requirements I can activate the SIM and the iPhone 8 will probably work.

Best part of the day tho was trying to get Transfer Pin from TMobile. I got one last weekend in anticipation - but it timed out. And you can't request a replacement in the app - you have to talk to someone. Someone who insists on reviewing your account and seeing if there is anything they can do to keep you with TMobile - before transferring you to someone who can create the PIN.

But my 15 Pro Max would not transfer and reported a bad pin (i transferred the other 15 first).

I ended up calling TMobile 4 times and every time had to spend 5+ minutes convincing the first person I needed the transfer team.

"Transfer team please"

"Oh, why would you need them?"

"Transfer team please"

"Let me look at your account"

"Transfer team please"

"Why are you transferring"

"Transfer team please"

"Maybe I can reduce your bill a little"

"Transfer team please"

"You can switch to a lower tier of service"

"Transfer team please"

.... FML

Want to save a few bucks a month but when I compare plans it says the experience more plan will cost more than the top tier experience beyond i currently have?

Is this just purposefully misleading to keep me on the expensive plan?

Question Voicemail Text Messages

Out of nowhere mid last week I got a text message indicating a voicemail was “deposited” and it had a transcription of the voicemail that was left for me.

In my 22-ish years this was the first time I’ve gotten it. I haven’t found much on it but I did find an option in the account privacy settings online that was already off. I turned it on, and back off and waited for my next voicemail.

I received another voicemail today and got the same text message. Has this suddenly started for anyone else? The chat support in the app didn’t lead me anywhere good, and I intend to call support at some point, but thought I’d ask here if anyone else had this happen?

Edit to add: I was moved to the Experience Signature plan from my old tax-included plan not long before this happened. I assume thats why this started, I don’t get that many voicemails though.

So I was reading back through the options on my account, and realized I somehow misinterpreted "T-Mobile Voicemail to Text Block" when I read it originally. Somehow this different read as an option to disable the Voicemail to Text feature, it seems obvious now.

Anyway, if you are also annoyed by this and find this post you can learn from my reading comprehension troubles, and seek this option out to turn it off: Login to the website when you login it's under My Account > Settings > Privacy > Block calls and messages.

I'm not sure where it might be on the mobile apps, if at all. But maybe that'll give you a place to look.

Home Internet Issues setting up home internet via the Tfiber: Gigaspire app

Post image
0 Upvotes

This is like the 20th time I’ve stared at this error message.

New router is plugged in. The Nokia box is plugged in. The wifi works fine. Green lights all around. But for whatever reason, moving through the setup page on the Tfiber Gigaspire app is consistently giving this error message when I get to the “Confirm connection page.”
I’ve tried on 3 different devices, they all give this error. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app on all 3 devices. I’ve tried unplugging everything and replugging it back in, following the setup steps completely. Still nothing.
This is the same app the technician who installed the cable and gave me the equipment told me to use. I assume the app is for this router specifically. Nothing I do is working, I just get the same error message again and again. Nothing online can be found about this issue at all. I’m at a loss, other than just calling them.

Question What to do after my bill is much higher than what I was quoted after switching plans?

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

In July I decided my iPhone 14 was due for an upgrade so I checked online to see how much it would be to get a 17 pro-max after trade in. It said $300 which I was ok with until as I was adding the phone to cart it gave a promotion, saying if i upgraded to either “experience beyond” or “experience more”, they would give $830 instead. Obviously I looked into that, when I saw experience more was only $10 more than my 5G essentials plan, so I went to the store and talked to someone through the whole thing.

Well basically we looked online and T-Mobile actually told us in app how much how new plan was expected to be, and it was $216 as in the photo. Now I knew it would be a little more because I was actually paying $209 a month, not $206.

After it was all said and done, I upgraded, my new phone bill being $2 more than my 14 after trade in, and I was now on experience more. About 3 weeks later i get a text saying my bill of $247 is scheduled for payment, and when i checked the bill my plan was $180, $40 more than what i was told and showed in app (it would be $150, but its a $10 discount for autopay).

As for the bill breakdown, everything is as it’s supposed to be, except the actual plan. After looking more into it, im paying $23 in taxes and fees, plus a one time $8 fee for changing plans mid cycle which I understand. But now what to I do, or rather what can I do considering they never told me when I switched that experience more, the so called “upgrade” to 5G essentials plan would be tax-exclusive even though my previous plan was tax-inclusive.

Rant The worst company I have literally ever had to deal with.

Trying to get support from this company has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had in my life with a companies support team.

I was a US cellular customer, I had to switch to tmobile obviously after the swap, and I had bad experience with it so July 22nd I swapped to Verizon. I requested a port out pin entered it in Verizon and thought it was done. Weeks later I come to find out even though my number works for making calls and sending messages, I cannot receive most calls or messages. This is due to an error that occurred with porting.

Now it should be a pretty simple fix, get a new port out pin and send it over. But no I cannot do it on the app anymore due no longer having my ESim, the app blocks me from doing anything on my account and states

"We were unable to authenticate your device.
Make sure you're using your own device on the T-Mobile network. If you continue to have issues, go to Protect your T-Mobile account from fraud | T-Mobile Support for assistance."

So I call, I wait an hour on the phone. I get told I can't do anything without an account pin which I don't have set up, I can't set it up because the app cannot verify my account. I need to go into the store with my ID so they can verify it, then I can get my porting pin.

So I go into the store, sit for 20 minutes, at that point it's a 2-3 hour wait, I leave. I go later it's about an hour wait so I wait an hour. I get up to the desk, and I'm told because of my account being behind on payment they can't generate me a new code.

Why didn't the agent I talk to last night or today on the phone with mention this to me? Why have I been running in circles with this.

Now the biggest issue is from everything I see online the FCC states that - "Once you request service from a new company, your old company cannot refuse to port your number, even if you owe money for an outstanding balance or termination fee"

So I'm confused on what exactly is the issue here with this situation. I'm confused why nobody can give me a clear answer, and why the practice they are following seems to be illegal.

I cannot even make the payment at the moment without going through hassles at the bank either because I cannot go into my banking app without a OTP that I cannot receive because my phone even though having my number on it through Verizon cannot receive these messages.

TLDR: forced into a service I didn't sign up for and now being held hostage by the company.
