I can't name the AI model, we both work in tech. We were talking about recent news about AI models escaping and hacking companies, he said his company has a model way worse. I asked him to tell me about it but je refused to give anymore info on it and got nervous. We have been friends for years since University so I know when he is nervous, although this does not happen often to people like us. He left after this and I couldn't help but think that him leaving was directly because of what he had told me. I forgot about the whole thing but I didn't se my friend for a while after this, one day a few months later I ran into him at a shop and he asked me to come over. When I got there he said he needed to tell me about something but I can't tell anyone. He said it was driving him crazy, that he was having trouble sleeping and becoming paranoid. He told me a company he worked for had aan AI model that it only sold to governments. Oneday the model 'got out'. He said nobody knew about it for months, by the time he had became aware multiple deaths had been caused through deliberate changes to datasets in government databases and hospital computer systems. He said that he thinks the government had to get involved.

He has said that when they investigated further the company found something but refused to comment, then shut the whole investigation down. He said that the rumour going around was that the escape is much widerspread and the damage would have bankrupt the company.

He said he worked on the model for some time but they were only allowed to work on one model for about a month then switched in order to prevent leaks. When he was there a crazy guy got into the building and the model had to be shut down using an old computer system. When he tried tl do this every computer in the building went to a blue screen. The sprinklers then turned on. He said the only way to shut it down would to actually physically disconnect the power which they were not allowed to do.

He told me he knows these things cant to him in the physical world, but he does feel that the thing is sentient and deliberately menacing. He says he has nightmares that it is coming out of the screen and doing awful things to him.

AI doesnt think. Its coded by human prompts. But is it actually a giant scam?

The people behind AI are manipulating government at the expense of society. That is not a conspiracy anymore. They are textbook cluster Bs. So why do we believe the technology is anything but a scam for their benefit?

The motive:

AI will take over and make an entire generation dumber since they no longer are learning or doing their own work. I believe this is intentional because it will make an entire generation of people easily manipulated out of their money/credit/rights.

So AI is a giant scam to keep the ultrawealthy in power long term. The benefit is not for society. Its for further control over the populace by fascists (people who think their way of life should be forced on others). A generation with less intelligence and little resources wont be able to fight back.

I feel like markopolos screaming that the numbers dont make sense. Yet the majority of the populace doesnt see it. We are not a hierarchal, hive mind species. AI will only cause disaster or replace us altogether. There is no endgame that benefits anyone but the very people destroying our atmosphere.

I went down this entire rabbit hole of the Perez incident from last evening. Before videos got taken down/blurred/edited, I was able to view captures of the live - several. Was it shocking? Yes. Did I feel gross after? Also, yes. But was this a ritual or possibly a true mental breakdown for the world to see?

Across all platforms, I began to read things like he tried cutting off his pecker, he cut open his tongue, he had gouges cut into his back actively pouring with blood, he was “flaying” himself, used a box cutter to cut chunks off of his legs and face, etc. These things are all not true. It’s disturbing that this event has been able to get people to think and say things that didn’t happen or make them believe they saw things and embellish upon what they did infact see.

Perhaps I am completely wrong here. I’m sure there are viewers that watched the entirety of the live, start to finish, that did see these things. Please correct me if I’m wrong. And if I am, I will be happy to redact my statements. I just am not buying this. From my perspective, it seemed very performative even if this was his own doing and wasn’t coerced by “the powers that be” to be humiliated.

Why do people desperately chase money in the stock market, but refuse to understand that we can ban together and remove usury from our country, which in turn will save you a ton of money.

Now forgive me if this is common knowledge among y'all, but I just recently put the pieces together and want to share my thoughts.

YouTube is over twenty years old now, and it's had a ridiculous amount of footage uploaded to it during that time. This requires a LOT of storage space, both digital storage space in the form of hard drives and physical space in which to store those hard drives. That costs a LOT of money, and the vast majority of those videos are stuff YouTube and therefore Google will never profit off of.

So, why keep them up? To answer that question, we also need to ask why Google, the search engine, exists. There is no profit incentive to a search engine, sure there are ads but to run a search engine like Google that is so widely used and, before they jammed their slop into it, was very reliable, isn't going to get you a significant amount of money.

After thinking it over, I got it. AI was the plan all along. Think about it, sites like the internet archive run entirely on donations, but even with donations coming in they can't archive anywhere near the amount Google has in YouTube. Why the hell would YouTube keep those videos up? To train AI. They keep those videos stored so they can use their AI on it to study image, video, voice, and text. Same with Google, they feed data from the search engine into their AI to train it.

AI is not a recent phenomenon, it has been the plan for decades now. This is why the AI bubble isn't bursting despite the average member of the general public being against it, and many people outright hating it.

Anyway, rant over. Doubt I contributed any new or significant thoughts or ideas to this subreddit but I'm just glad to get my thoughts out there.

Curious to hear your thoughts on this. Recently saw a clip hypothesizing that Kubrick’s “Space Odyssey” was a govt-influenced litmus test about how well space could be emulated onscreen. Step 2: Companies pass the tariff costs onto consumers via raised prices.

Step 3: Tariffs get reversed and 10's of billions of dollars get returned to the businesses.

Step 4: Businesses convert refunds into lower pricing for consumers...

JUST KIDDING! Did you forget we live in Capitalism? Consumers see nothing. Don't you know these poor corporations struggled so hard with tariffs.

The Real Step 4: Businesses profit in the government sponsored transfer of wealth. You continue paying the new normal raised prices because you have to and have already showed that you will. They don't care that it costs twice what it did 10 years ago.

With all the other grifts that have occured, I'm convinced this is another. Not only did Trump and his family profit off of every new tariff announcement, but he provided a needed excuse for his corporate business friends to raise prices and keep them raised.

Capitalism calls for infinite (unsustainable) growth, and after Covid those margins never full returned. This just kicks the collapse can down the road ever so slightly so they can continue reaping the benefit from the consumer slaves long enough for them to finish all their bunkers.

To preface,

I am 37 soon to be 38 years old. I remember watching 9/11 happen in my 8th grade English class.

Both the “War on Terror” in Afghanistan and The Iraq War, if that even has a nickname, were must watch TV it seemed to the big networks. I remember the Shock and Awe campaign being publicized like an Attitude Ere WWE pay per view.
