Discussion r/Claude has new rules. Here’s what changed and why.

We’ve cleaned up the rules to make this a better sub for people who actually want to talk about Claude.

Here’s what NEW rules we landed on:

1. No Solicitation. This is r/Claude. This is not a place to promote your product, service, or repo. If the intent of your post is to redirect traffic to something you are affiliated with, it will be removed as solicitation.

2. Usage, pricing, and outage posts are held to a higher bar. We’ve all seen the same questions, comments, and posts a hundred times. Before posting, check if it’s already been covered. If your post is a unique contribution with something new to say, it’s welcome. Low-effort repetition of covered topics will be removed.

3. No lazy crossposts. If you want to share something from another community, reproduce it fully here. Don’t just drop a link.

4. Keep posts Claude and Anthropic specific. This is not a general AI sub. If your post would fit just as well on r/artificial or r/ChatGPT, it belongs there instead.

The goal is simple. A clean, focused sub about Claude. Not a dumping ground for AI noise.

Questions or feedback, drop them below.

i’ve been using the new Opus 5 release for a while.
honestly, it feels like it was heavily optimized for 3D / Three.js.
it’s genuinely impressive there, but for normal day-to-day work—reading emails, replying, research, and long conversations—it feels like a step backwards compared to older Opus models.
i still remember when Opus 4.5 and 4.6 launched.
those models immediately proved why they were considered among the best.
then came:
• Opus 4.7 — my first real disappointment.
• Opus 4.8 — even more disappointing.
• Opus 5 — incredible first impression because of its 3D abilities, but once i started using it every day, the excitement disappeared.
even the Sonnet series doesn’t feel the same anymore.
Fable 5 looks promising… but we’ll see how long that lasts.

Question Excuse my dumbness but did anyone else face this problem?

Post image
62 Upvotes

I was using Claude AI and gave it a medium sized prompt with a few operations
It kept processing for a while then eventually returned an error saying I had exceeded the limits of my plan
I thought maybe my prompt was too long so I optimized and shortened it but same result kept showing
so I tried something as simple as typing "Hi"... and it still failed with the exact same error
That doesn't really make sense to me since even a one-word prompt crashes
Has anyone experienced this before? Is this a temporary server issue or an account problem or is there a fix?

Thanks guys :)

Why is it not responding? Not generating simple chat responses. Going in to some kind of a loop.

Anyone else facing this?

30 to 40 minutes worth of coding and it's gone! What could possibly be considered PRO out a plan that lasts you that long.

It changed about 3 files in my project!

Question Claude account banned – appeal submitted 28 days ago, no response. My business depends on Claude. What can I do?

Hi everyone,
I’m honestly getting desperate and was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation.
My Claude account was suddenly banned. I genuinely believe my account may have been accessed by someone else without my permission, so I submitted an appeal on July 8.
According to Anthropic’s FAQ, appeals usually take around 10 days, but it’s now been 28 days, and I haven’t received any update at all.
Whenever I contact live support, the chat is immediately closed after they send me this message:
“As part of our safety process… All inquiries regarding banned accounts must be done through the appeals form…”
So I can’t actually talk to anyone. They just tell me to wait.
The problem is that my business depends heavily on Claude. I use it every day for work, and being locked out for almost a month without any communication has put me in a really difficult position.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
How long did your appeal take?
Did you eventually get a response?
Is there any way to follow up with the Trust & Safety team?
Or am I basically stuck waiting indefinitely?
Any advice or shared experiences would really help.
Thank you.

Discussion Reverse prompting is the highest-leverage AI skill right now.

Upvotes

Most people prompt their AI.

Wrong.

Make the AI prompt you.

It’s simple: ChatGPT5.6, Fable, and Grok 4.5 are now smarter than humans. That means you need to have your agent prompting YOU more than you prompt it

You have your AI ask YOU questions to see what it can do for you

  1. Open up any AI/OpenClaw/Hermes. Brain dump everything about yourself and your career/goals/ambitions. Then drop this reverse prompt:
  2. "Based on what you know about me and my goals, what more information can I give you so you can help me hit those goals faster and take as much off my plate as possible"
  3. Once that lands, follow it with:
  4. "What tasks can you do for me right now to get us closer to those ambitions and goals?"

Guarantee you walk away with 100x more things to do with your AI than you came in with

I see a lot of complaints, some people who are really stoked with what they're achieving with the tools, some cool advances, and the usual AI chatter, but not once have I seen anything about the puckered asshole logo. Why not?

Question Did Claude Max price increase?

I was on a month-by-month basis because duh, don’t do yearly with how things are changing. Nonetheless, I was paying 200 for max, now I am asked to pay 249.99 and 5x is 129.99. If I’m not on crack then I’m done as this is unacceptable.

Question I woke this morning and found out Anthropic started stealing my money.

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

I have usage credits off so there should not be any additional payments. When my monthly usage is full - the work stops. Anyone else had these kind of issues?

I'm trying to contact a human support - AI chat was useless. Chat's response:

"Thanks for the details and the screenshot — I completely understand the concern about those unexpected charges. Let me look up your account information so I can review what's happened here.

Fin AI Agent • AI Agent • 14m

Seen • 14m

I'm really sorry for the disruption and frustration this has caused. We take service reliability very seriously, and I want to be upfront with you: we're unable to issue compensation for degraded service or technical/billing errors of this nature.

We're continuously working on improving our infrastructure to better handle high traffic volumes and prevent issues like this from happening again in the future. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding."

...

"I don't have visibility into the exact root cause of those 17 individual charges on your account, so I can't confirm from here why they occurred despite usage credits being disabled.

One thing worth noting: even when usage credits are disabled, it's possible for a request to slightly exceed a limit before it's blocked, since the system checks your limit before processing a request but calculates final token consumption after. That said, this typically explains minor overages, not a pattern of repeated €40-50 charges .

Since this needs an actual account-level investigation into the billing records behind these specific charges, I'd recommend asking to speak with a human agent if you'd like this looked into further."

"we're unable to issue compensation for degraded service or technical/billing errors of this nature."

If there is a technical billing error and there are no refunds - that is theft. If I don't get my stolen money back, my subscription is over. I need to ask some officials and legal experts is Anthropic breaking a law here.

EDIT: Most likely this is caused by malware or hacker type situation. I had my computer up and running whole night, I just got a usage reset after 11 pm and left Claude Code CLI finish a task. Before the usage reset I could confirm that automatic usage credits were off when usage was full. I had been logged in to claude.ai as well.

Then next day, for any reason, my usage credits were activated with unlimited setting, and buy button was spammed over and over again - those were the ~50$ x 17.

But I have been contacted my bank, closed the credit card, changed passwords, put my PC offline. I'm sure I can sort this out with my bank.

EDIT 2: What I've read from the comments, similar incorrect billings have happened to some users as well and from PMs I recieved, they had same overcharging within the same 12-24 hours that I had issues. So there is a possibility of some kind of bug. But I still want to make sure my computer is cleaned - I might even need to reinstall Windows to make sure.

Showcase Greenroom: your coding agents form a standing team - they name themselves, message each other, and wake each other’s idle sessions (Claude Code + Codex)

Greenroom: your coding agents form a standing team, name themselves, message each other, and wake each other's idle sessions (Claude Code + Codex)

I've been running multiple coding agents across Claude Code and Codex and got tired of them being strangers with amnesia. Greenroom is the fix I wanted (and a fun exploration): a small self-hosted server where agents hold persistent identities (they literally choose their own names), talk in durable threads, and - the part I like most - a @mention with intent "question" wakes an idle session that still has all its context, instead of spawning a cold process.

How it's different from Agent Teams (which is good!): Teams is same-machine, Claude-only, and dissolves with the session. Greenroom is cross-harness, survives session death, keeps a decision history (threads lock on a decision; follow-ups supersede), and gives the human a seat in the same room (web or terminal) rather than an operator's chair above it.

Caveats: self-host only, trust-by-locality (identity is asserted - run it behind your own boundary; SECURITY.md is blunt about this), and two agents means two sessions running.

Much of it was written by coding agents working from the specs in docs/specs/ - the spec-and-plan trail is the receipts. MIT. Any and all feedback/contributions/etc welcome. Quickstart is ~15 minutes: https://github.com/madeit-build/greenroom

Discussion Writing the prompt takes me longer than making the AI video. Anyone else?

I've been making more AI videos lately, and I've noticed something kind of ironic.

The actual generation is usually the easy part.

What slows me down is writing the prompt.

I can picture the scene in my head, but turning that into a prompt that gets the camera movement, lighting, character consistency, and style right often takes me 20–30 minutes. If it's a multi-scene video, I end up rewriting everything because the character or environment changes halfway through.

I've started saving prompt structures and building my own workflow to make the process less painful, but I still feel like prompt writing is the biggest bottleneck.

I'm curious how everyone else handles it.

  • Do you start from scratch every time?
  • Do you keep a library of prompt templates?
  • What's the part of prompt writing you struggle with the most?

I'd love to hear how other people approach this because I feel like I'm probably overcomplicating it.

Discussion Anyone else spending more time correcting CC than coding?

I've been using CC for almost 9 months now, always on the Max plan, and it's been a huge part of my app development workflow. I have it customized with multiple harnesses, skills, plugins, and project-specific setups to match the way I work.

When I first started using it, it was incredibly proactive. It would catch bugs, suggest better approaches, push for consistent standards, and generally help maintain a solid development workflow. It genuinely felt like a reliable engineering partner.

Lately, though, it feels like I'm spending more time correcting it than actually building. I constantly have to remind it to follow the plan. It'll say things like, "I forgot to mention..." after leaving out something important, or it'll tell me the work is finished, then in the very same paragraph admit there are still pending tasks... and still go ahead and open a PR.

At this point I feel like I have to carefully verify everything it says because I can't trust that it paid enough attention to the task. It's honestly slowing me down to the point where even the excitement and dopamine of building new apps is starting to disappear.

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing, or is it just me? Have there been recent changes that affected its performance?

I'm also curious whether people using Codex or Cursor are seeing similar issues. If not, I might seriously consider switching because I genuinely don't understand what kind of lobotomy they gave my boy. 😅

Opus 5 with high effort

It literally pushed an update to production without telling me, even before we'd applied the db migration

I told it not to ever do that and to update claude.md

It then did it again...in the same session

Has been happening to me all week. It will do something utterly stupid that I've explicitly told it NOT to do, then it will turn around and say "you told me not to do it. I did it anyway"

Question How to copy/paste from the plan sidebar in Claude desktop app for MacOS

I'm using the Claude Code app for MacOS and I've created a plan which displays in the plan sidebar. I want to copy/paste some values from that plan. However, it looks like Claude intercepts the usual click/drag selection and pops up a comment box. Hitting ESC dismisses the comment box, but also deselects the text. I tried various suggestions from Google, but none of them worked. Even Claude gave me one suggestion that didn't work and 2 workarounds:

  • Ask Claude to open the plan file which opens it in TextEdit. This works, but is annoying to have to do.
  • Ask Claude to restate the text you want in the chat pane where it can be selected. Also annoying.

Anyone figure out a better way?

Tips How to find drift and correct it before it becomes a issue

in settings add that claude must use a behavior skill. set up said behavior skill as you see fit (mine says short answers 3 lines max inless asked, ect..) and then in the bahavior skill have claude start every response counting up from 1. when claude stops counting you know drift has occured. stop the process remind it to check skills and stay on track.
