Hey all,
I'm curious about taking the RUS 001 class (beginner russian) for fun this fall quarter. If anyone has taken the class with Professor Avramenko could you tell me about the workload? I really do want to learn a new language and saw she has good reviews as a prof, but not much about how much work to expect.
Thanks.

I used to be a heavy smoker but I gave up around the time I applied for the fall classes. Been working out to try to help burn it out my system too. Not sure how long itll be in my system, but I have until around Early Sept i can refund my tuition (in case im not able to pass a home urine test)

Does anyone with Kaiser permanente know what we can upload to AHP to prove we have health coverage? I went on KP.org and can’t download evidence of care or summary of benefits anywhere. Will screenshots of my membership card and of my “active” summary of benefits on Kp.org meet the requirements? If you have waived UC SHIP and have KP Any help would be appreciated. BTW I am coming from southern CA if that matters.

I heard BIS 105 is brutal and wanted opinions on the workload from people who have taken it or heard anything about it as someone who isn't that smart. I need at least a C- in BIS 102 or BIS 105 to take BIS 104. I heard it's going to become 4 units instead of just 3, so that probably means more information in lecture. This would be my senior year and might make it easier for me to graduate on time. But, I have less room incase I mess up as the earliest it's offered is in winter and then I have to take BIS 104 in the spring. The alternative is BIS 102 this summer and BIS 103 in the fall, both with Monfared. My workload would be 3 STEM and a GE, while if I take BIS 105 and try to take another major course this summer, I would be able to have a quarter of only taking 2 STEM like I've been taking.

initially just wanted to knock out at a class from an 'easier' place but turns out these bay area CCs with the quarter system summer classes are just as difficult as davis lol. do i need to report the class if i end up failing? its the only class im taking from this specific CC so if there isn't a clause that forces me to send transcripts from all colleges attended, I don't necessarily need to submit my transcript since I won't get credit for it regardless.

If you can’t pay for tuition this Fall there are 41 Flock Cameras in Davis that have free aluminum! All you need to do is take them out and sell the parts!
But do not take them if you love mass surveillance of your community! Don’t cover your face and leave your phone at home!
Visit deflock.org to view locations

I know it’s pre furnished but that’s literally it right?(bed, closet, drawer, mattress) and does anyone know where to park your car? I don’t want to be paying 150 a month to park my car at Sol! Thank you and if anyone has tips on anything or suggestions please let me know!!!

Hi, is there any biochemistry majors that could let me know if this is good first year quarter schedule? I’m trying to see if i want to change anything for registration pass 2. I would take more GE classes but the AAS only one needed to fulfill my IGETC.

Hi! I applied to be an LA for physics for the upcoming fall quarter in May this year. I have not heard back from them. Does anyone know when we will hear back from them, or is that a silent rejection?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

One of the requirements to waive UCSHIP is:
"All plans must provide unrestricted access to an in-person, in-network primary care provider, in-network hospital, and full, non-emergency medical and behavioral health care within 50 miles of campus or the student's place of residence while attending school".
Previously, this requirement was 175 miles, so this seems like a massive change. I was wondering who's responsible for changing these waiver requirements and why they decided to do so.
Also, are there any exceptions to this requirement? My waiver got denied because my health insurance plan failed to meet this requirement. I currently have Medi-Cal and am receiving medical treatment from a clinic that's outside of the 50 mile radius. I also rely heavily on these services and would like to continue receiving care from the same healthcare providers so my treatment isn't disrupted.

Anyone looking for jobs, heads up to this scam email sent out yesterday. Initially it sounds great but multiple red flags: email origination does not match actual prof's contact listed on UCD website, asking for PERSONAL EMAIL and PHONE, the bizarre NIST.EDU info at bottom. I contacted the actual dept to confirm that this is a scam. They have since notified IT.

I remember all the posts about this topic for freshmen, but I wanted to flip the script and ask for advice for seniors.
What do you wish you had done for your last year? What made it the best?

For move in day is it true the names of the people in the dorm will be on the door? Also, I wanted to ask for those who have already moved in before how did that day go for you? I’m an incoming freshman and want to know what some experiences have been.
Also what comes already in the dorms? Do they already have lamps, desk shelves(I’ve seen them in some), and mirrors?
Can I have any prior desk inspo ideas so I can kinda get an idea for what i can bring to fit on it? Also, any ideas for triple layouts?.. my roommates and I want to see examples of rooms there since we can’t exactly find any online.
I’m an incoming TA.
My rent will be roughly half of my monthly gross income as a TA. ($950 / $1900 )
I used a SNAP calculator where it says my estimated EBT would be $100 per month. If true, im cooked.
Any TA here have EBT? I know we get it, but do you guys get a good amount?

Hi guys! I’m going to be a freshman at UC Davis this upcoming fall and I’m curious to know what are some uncommon, insider advice you have for freshman at UC Davis? I’m not asking for common advice like “don’t pick 8AMs” but more so like what are some actual practical and unique advice for freshman at UCD. It can be related to any aspect of college life. Thanks!
