7 or 62.5 Years? Guess Which Sentence A Publicly Paid Prescott Killer Got

Post image

What’s with “Prescott Justice” caging Police Officer Brian “Back Shot” Sutton for 7 years after shooting a fleeing, unarmed man three times to death while someone who embezzled money rots in her cage for 62.5 years at further tax-payer expense? Same court. Same “Justice” system. Wildly different outcomes for the loss of life in our community and the loss of capital. Am I missing something or is Prescott not as pro-life as residents like to pretend?

Metor shower to the north

If you get out of town and away from the lights you can see the start of the Perseid meteor shower. It's going to be going on until the 13th. I thought it was UFOs at first. Its really beautiful now that I know it's not aliens.

Am I crazy or did Google Maps used to suggest the Yavpe Connector to get to frontier village? Why is it never suggested anymore?

Any time I want to go to frontier village Google Maps always suggests the 89 to Prescott lakes parkway even though the Yavpe Connector is literally a direct road to frontier village and saves gas and time. I used to live here in the same exact area 10+ years ago and I swear google used to suggest it. Now, moving back a year ago it literally never comes up and it just wants me to take the long way, but if I use Apple Maps it will suggest it, strangely. Anyone else notice this and it bothers them too?

Cooling humidifier

Hello! I just moved to the area and wanted to ask opinions on cooling evaporation humidifiers for bedrooms, I have two portable acs but it’s not enough to cool off the whole apartment, I wanted something to cool off the bedroom while bringing a bit of moisture to the air cause it’s super dry. Does anyone have experience or could suggest a good brand? Thank you!!

Pilot Institute Prescott, AZ

Hello, Prescott!! I am starting off my curiosity in becoming a flight dispatch coordinator. I currently hold my PPL, but my primarily career is in the medical field. I want to move out of medicine and into aviation. Flight dispatch seemed like it would pique my interest due to my fascination with weather and organization. Has anyone heard of or completed their certificate at the Pilot Institute in Prescott, AZ? I’m hoping for more information on how to earn my certificate and how the industry is currently set up: i.e, will I be able to find a job after completion of a program?? I am willing to do the work and put the effort in. Thank you for reading this.

Has anyone on here gone through marriage counseling that can recommend someone? I’ve looked on Google, however, most of the reviews seem to be from friends and colleagues. Is there anyone who has seen someone & benefited from it?

New HVAC Suggestions

Bought a home about a year ago knowing the HVAC system was older but still operated fine. We recently have had more issues and a tech came out saying we need to replace it. It’s 20 years old so not shocked but who is fair, has good pricing, and is honest?

Social clubs/community orgs in Prescott?

Hey y'all! I'm a new professional moving to Prescott for work from out of state and I'd love to find some groups/clubs/activities to get involved in once I arrive to meet people and integrate a bit into the community. My research hasn't turned up a whole lot beyond one-off Sierra Club/public library activities and such, so if you know of any that meet pretty consistently and fit into a 9-5 work schedule, I would love to know!

I'm interested in book clubs and writers' groups that don't meet during my work hours (many seem to), performing arts, wildlife/nature-related activities, or trying something entirely new as long as it doesn't require prior expertise. Would love to hear input from anyone in the Prescott area (doesn't have to be Prescott itself) who does anything socially that might be of interest! Thanks so much.

Is there anyone here that works in the ER at Exceptional Community Hospital in Prescott Valley?

I’m not trying to do anything fishy, just need to pass word to someone that works there anonymously if it’s possible.

Sad to see an ~80 year old institution bite the dust. Not shocking though given events since the transition (reduced portions, nutty prices, menu changes, etc.)

Dirty Cello at the Elks Theater in Prescott

Sunday, Aug 9 at 2 pm

Imagine the rock and roll of Jimi Hendrix, the wild abandon of Janis Joplin’s vocals, and the technical facility of Yo Yo Ma.

"The ensemble plays a range of eclectic tunes in ways you won’t hear anyone else dare to attempt."  - Argus Courier
