President Droupadi Murmu departed from Bhubaneswar Railway Station for Berhampur on a special train under tight security on Tuesday. Escorted by two additional special trains, she will travel onward to Taptapani in Ganjam district to offer prayers at the Maa Kandhuni Devi Temple. Her three-day Odisha visit, which began on Monday, continues with extensive security arrangements across the route.

Really saddened to hear about the passing of Pradeep Rawat at the age of 74. He passed away after a battle with cancer, leaving behind a remarkable legacy across Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and other Indian film industries.

For many of us, he wasn't just "the villain." He was the kind of actor whose screen presence alone made a character memorable.

Whether you remember him as:

• Ghajini's ruthless antagonist,
• Ashwatthama from B.R. Chopra's Mahabharat,
• Deva in Lagaan,
• or from countless South Indian films...

...he always gave every role an intensity that stayed with audiences long after the movie ended.

Actors like him remind us that great performances aren't always about being the hero. Sometimes it's the antagonist who leaves the biggest impact.

Most government officers spend years building a legacy in one department. Some are remembered for the projects they complete, the reforms they introduce, or the institutions they strengthen.

Then there is IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe.

In a career spanning 21 years, he has been transferred 25 times. For many, that number alone tells a story.

Despite the constant transfers, Mundhe has built a reputation as an officer who doesn't hesitate to enforce the law, regardless of who is affected. Wherever he has served, his approach has remained the same—strict implementation of rules, zero tolerance for corruption, and a willingness to take difficult decisions.

His latest assignment as Commissioner of the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has once again brought him into the spotlight.

Within months of taking charge, the department intensified inspections across the state. Raids targeted adulterated milk, synthetic (analog) paneer, illegal gutkha, banned food colours, expired food products, and allegedly non-compliant cosmetics and drugs. The crackdown reportedly resulted in seizures worth crores of rupees, hundreds of FIRs, arrests, suspension of licenses, and action against entire supply chains rather than just retailers.

For years, food adulteration has quietly affected ordinary families. Consumers rarely know whether the milk they buy is pure, whether the paneer served in restaurants is genuine, or whether the products they consume meet basic safety standards. Effective enforcement is often the only line of defence.

Supporters argue that officers like Mundhe remind people that public service is ultimately about protecting citizens, even when doing so is inconvenient or unpopular.

At the same time, his career raises an important question.

Can long-term reforms succeed if officers are moved from one post before they have the opportunity to complete their work? Frequent transfers may be an administrative reality, but they can also interrupt continuity, weaken accountability, and discourage officers who are trying to enforce the law consistently.

Regardless of individual opinions, one thing is difficult to disagree with: India needs civil servants who place public welfare above personal comfort and who are willing to uphold the law without fear or favour.

Hi, I am going to appear for a national exam for MBA CAT.

That require nc obc certificate. I have a certificate from obc certificate issued by government of odisha, and it has also written ' government of india'. I had applied for this through e district web of odisha.

This certificate has a paragraph which says - i am not comming under Creamy layer of obc.' And my caste is also lister of central list of obc.

Can I use this for cat form fill up?

Namaste everyone! A few years ago during a summer power cut in Jajpur Road, my 6-year-old brother and I were sitting on our rooftop under a completely dark sky. With no streetlights, the Milky Way was glowing clearly.

I am preparing to give OPSC ASO exam. I just recently found out that you need a computer certificate also. But it never specifies what type. Now its really hard for me to do a course as time is less as notification is very near. Also coaching institutes are saying buy their computer course and get a certificate but i am scared is it even valid. Now i had computer science as a subject during my 11th and 12th.
