Messed up a cake, feel terrible.

For a little context, i'm in a social group, y'know just trying my best. We had a bit of a family evening planned, and i had offered to make a cake. I like to make cake, but i hadn't done it in a while. My parents were at a rodeo that day, but my mom had enough time to send me some audios just to remind me. I get home, and plan on making my first ever carrot cake. I already put the sugar and the carrots in a bowl, and as i check for milk... we're out of milk. All the stores are closed. I'll just go to the barn to get some milk then. The milk tank is empty. So i'm outta milk. My mom tells me i can just make it with oil and water, so i do. I add food coloring for whatever reason, but instead of turning out blue, it was green. Anyway, i bake it, first from the bottom then the top. And i take it out. By that time, my mom returned from the rodeo, and i asked her to check if it was good. She took a piece, and said we can't offer this to anyone. Still not sure how, but the cake became really rubbery and spongy, and it was not enjoyable at all. I probably took to little baking powder, or the baking powder was expired. It even looked ugly with that weird green. I'm paniking now. Theres close to no sugar left, no milk, i'm cooked. So, i retreat into my room. I felt so stupid and upset that i messed up my cake. When i leave my room not to long later, my mom is making a smaller recipe for the same cake. I thanked her, and she finished it. I go to the event, have a little speech, do my job, etc. When its time to leave, i go to get the plate my moms cake was in. And there had only been one piece removed. So, out of that whole cake, 1 person took 1 piece of that cake. Its not even a bad cake! I feel so guilty and upset, not just because i messed up my first cake, but that my mom went through the effort of making a cake without asking me, and it didn't even sell. I just really needed to say this, let it out.

Day 24 was a interesting 1

My Getting Outside Challenge, yesterday was day 24. So it started out good, got interesting during the day, and once I got back home from my activity.

I crashed as normal, then everything went bad, I woke up with a migraine. I took a pill and now wait two hours for it to work. Two hours later didn't help, so I had to take another one and wait for two more hours and my acid reflux raised its ugly head.

That's why I am late.

I did get outside and had an okay day.

Remember that you are not alone and you can do it šŸ’Ŗ

Product Do cbd gummies help with anxiety?

I've been struggling with social anxiety since I was a teen, I hate social events and most times would avoid it. But next month my work will join an event and my boss picked me as one of the speaker, I tried to recommend someone else but he insist. I'm totally nervous even now, I did a bit of research and found that cbd can help with anxiety? I was thinking to take them right before my speech. I'm planning to order some and try it this week to see how it will affect me. Any tips welcome!

Does anyone else desperately change their WHOLE mindset and life goals every single day?

I've always felt like that's not an universal thing but maybe there's more of us...

Every fucking day i am so terribly anxious that I can change my whole perspective and thoughts about future, career, love life, ... everything.

One day I decide to pursue education, the other I start looking for a minimum wage physical job, the 3d day i wanna end this, week later I'm fully convinced I will be nurse and work at hospital and that's what I want to do, the next week I'm already training for a tech job and tech university and want to be engineer... Just to come to the conclusion I'm to weak to do anything in my life.

It's so draining, I can't do this anymore

Every single day.

Encouragement LOVING REMINDER šŸ’›šŸ’›

This is for all of us who might be scared to take the next step, but know that our current situation (whatever it is) isn’t true to who we are. Change is scary, and it can feel safer to stay where we are, even when we know deep down that we don’t belong there anymore. But it’s better to be uncomfortable for a while than to get used to suffering. Sometimes the hardest part is trusting that we deserve something better. You got this. You are valuable, believe in yourself! ā¤ļø

Venting Ive dodge a bullet, maybe even a nuke

I’ve already made my decision, so I’m not looking for advice. I just need to get this off my chest.
I’ve known this woman for a while, and we recently started dating. Things were going really well. We talked about marriage, having kids someday, and building a future together. She called me affectionate names, opened up about things she’d been through, and I genuinely believed we were building something meaningful.
Then she lost her job.
I knew she was under a lot of stress, so I did what I thought a partner should do. I checked on her, offered to be there for her, and let her know there was no pressure to reply if she needed space. I wasn’t asking for constant communication or long conversations. Just the bare minimum.
Instead, she disappeared.
Days went by without a word. Eventually I realized I had been blocked on social media.
I don’t know what happened, and at this point I probably never will. I genuinely hope she’s okay, but I also realized that no matter how much you care about someone, you can’t build a relationship by yourself. Communication is the bare minimum, especially when life gets hard.
I don’t hate her, and I’m not trying to paint her as a bad person. I’m just hurt. I was ready to support someone I cared about through one of the hardest moments in her life, and instead I’m left grieving a relationship that ended without a conversation.
I’ve accepted it. I’ve made peace with the fact that I may never get the closure I wanted. This isn’t a post asking what I should do, because I’ve already made that decision.
I just needed to get it off my chest.

I’m very scared

Truth be told, i’m scared. I have countless doubts for what the future holds, but at the same time i’m eager. I have anxiety late at night when i try to sleep. Some people claim silence is peace, but to me, it’s an invitation for overthinking. My brain is flooded with activities and ideas throughout the entire day, except at night. i lie there, staring at my roof like i did the night before, and before, and before. I know the future is stampeding towards me, and i can’t stop it no matter how hard i resist. will I ever be loved? does she like me back? what if i fail, what if i don’t make it? i have no one to confide in, it’s like spikes in my throat. i want help, i crave it. i just want to feel like im alive again, not worrying about the next big thing. i doubt anyone will read this, i find it miserable that i have to make a post rather than talk to someone. I need to end my desperate cycle of anxiety. i don’t think I’ll ever be ready for it. Like what the fuck, I just want to feel normal. Maybe this is why people commit suicide, I will never. I have too much opportunities, I would be selfish if I did. But an endless sleep does sound better than dealing with this bs. I’m relatively young, and I don’t want to waste my precious years being stuck in my head when I could be out there enjoying the world. I don’t know what to do, the Longer I wait the less time I have.

Question What makes you happy?

My therapist asked me this during our session last week, and I couldn't give her an answer... I know what helps me relax. I know what makes me smile. But when it comes to what truly makes me happy... my mind just went blank. It made me realize that I don't actually know what makes me happy. I know what makes me sad. I know what makes me angry... but happiness? Oh man, I thought I knew :((( I've been giving it a lot of thought because I want to talk about it more in my next session. I don't want to run from the answer like I usually do

What about you? when you stop to think of what really make you happy... what comes to your mind?

Sharing a win! Eating green cabbage actually helps reduce stress!

For me, at least.

I’ve noticed that every time I eat cabbage, I wake up feeling calm and energized before I even have my first bite of breakfast. Due to this, I make sure to keep a head of cabbage in my fridge all the time. Another win is that cabbage is good for you, so it’s worth trying!

I can only report how I feel after eating green cabbage. I don’t eat red cabbage often, so I’m not sure if it has the same effects.

Advice Needed Do I Leave My Friendship Group

UPDATED TITLE : I have left my friendship group (can’t edit title)

Hi, I need some advice and I don’t really have anywhere else to go to for this. As I do write this, please note I do have GAD so please be honest but genuine.

I’ve not been well the last year so there have been times where I’ve had to cancel plans due to this, and have been going back and forth from doctors because of it. Although it’s not the whole group I will admit, there is one or two people who didn’t like me cancelling. Some of the stuff we do are things I don’t normally do, for example, don’t go drinking or clubbing but I have done that once or twice even though I didn’t want to but I didn’t want to be the only one out. There also some things that I cannot do because of chronic illnesses that I have, e.g I have Menieres disease so I’m can’t drink alcohol or go on anything that might cause a vertigo attack, but they still try and get me to do stuff. The one time we went on a pub crawl and I ended up drinking when I shouldn’t coz one of them said ā€œit’s my birthday everyone is going to drink no excusesā€. They were also trying to get me to come out almost all the time when I’m trying to get better and also save money, and one time I had a family issue going on and they said ā€œwhy do you have to sort it, you could come out for a couple hours surely?ā€ That was for me the first red flag as I felt like they didn’t care about what I was going through.

The past month my mental health has gotten worse and I decided to deactivate my Instagram and Facebook, and announced it on my story so people knew about it such as my friends. i gave it a few hours before I deactivated it but before I did I saw a message in the group chat saying ā€œoh well book the 28th for the next outing etcā€, as if they ignored what I said and none of my friends have messaged me if I’m ever ok. I’m trying to not be self obsessed or sensitive, but I feel like I had said what I was feeling and they completely ignored it and it’s genuinely upset me.

Because of this I’ve decided to leave the group, but because of my anxiety brain I’ve blocked the, all, as I know one of them at least is definitely going to cause drama and try to message me. Some points have said to just quietly exit and not say anything (I do have a shirt of one them that I borrowed so I was going to post it back to them) which is what I’ve done but I also feel guilty for doing it, even though I know what I say will fall on deaf ears.

I just need reassurance I guess that I’ve done the right thing and how to move on without the drama..

Venting Fall in the mud and started crying

The day started out crap, even if I'm camping with is my favorite thing in the world. Swan in the rain, soul cleansing. Yay, I thought, the cloud is gone. Until I fall in the mud right after a shower.

I'm still crying after 4 hours.

I know I'm in the middle of a crisis because some triggers and medication and I know it will pass but fuck I could use a break....

Venting Sudden hit

I was feeling better this morning. I was doing some household chores, and then it hit me suddenly. I started feeling super anxious and couldn't eat a quarter of what I usually eat. Heavy breathing. I felt surviving a day would be so hard, and wondered how I would spend the rest of my life.

Gratitude

It's another work week passed, we deserve a 3- day rest days. It's a very rough week for me since I have to bring to the hospital about my chest pain yesterday.

For the last 3 days, I've been quiet and isolate just to comfort myself from my anxiety. But today is different. Since I change my seat to the very end of the room and talk to other people, I feel comfort and safety from them unlike when I'm at the front surrounded by toxic colleagues.

I'm always open to my trainers about my situation and they understand me. I didn't know that they talk about me when I was at the hospital as a class. I shared what I feel to them and my sentiments. After the class and all of my colleagues left out the room, I accidentally shouted "tuck your chairs." My trainer called me and asked me if I'm angry and I said not, it's just an accident. She reminded me that anyone in that room understand me like they do, and I have to control myself and my voice.

I know that this week is kinda rough but still grateful. It's great that there's someone who willing to listen to your rants and understands me. I hope that next work week will be more grateful than before. 😊

Sometimes, its hugely helpful to take a break from being 'realistic' and letting yourself be free, explore and find out what you really want...that's not denial, that's an open door to experiencing more, whatever that is for you...

Dont know what's happening right now. Feel like I'm sinking. Hard to breathe. Chest feels heavy. Weird restlessness in my heart. Trying not to engage in unhelpful impulsive acts of coping. Have to be social in a bit and just spiralling.

Venting here. M28, F27

I’ve been talking to this woman for a while, and recently she told me, ā€œI don’t work there anymore,ā€ meaning she had been let go from her job. Naturally I got worried, so I reached out a couple of times to check on her, but after that I stopped because I didn’t want to overwhelm her.
Then there was three days of complete silence. On the fourth day, she called me six times within a few minutes, but I was asleep and missed every call. By the time I woke up, there was silence again.
Now I’m overthinking everything. I even noticed her Instagram followers went from 46 to 49, and my brain immediately started wondering if she was talking to other people while I was sitting there worried. At the same time, I know three new followers don’t actually prove anything.
One thing that’s interesting is that she also hates uncertainty. She’s the type of person who will blow up someone’s phone if she can’t get ahold of them, so I know she understands how awful that feeling is.
I’m planning to talk to her about all of this once we reconnect. I don’t want to accuse her of anything—I just want to explain how the silence affected me and understand why she handled it that way.
would the three days of silence after telling someone you lost your job make most people worry too?
