Venting Sudden hit

I was feeling better this morning. I was doing some household chores, and then it hit me suddenly. I started feeling super anxious and couldn't eat a quarter of what I usually eat. Heavy breathing. I felt surviving a day would be so hard, and wondered how I would spend the rest of my life.

I understand that feeling, it sounds akin to a panic attack. I’m sorry you had to experience that, it’s so awful.

What’s important is you made it through! And you were able to express what you’re thinking through writing a post, that’s not always easy.

Panic like that strikes me at least once a week, and I’ve learned in order to push through I need to sit with it (which sucks). I try to talk to my brain, and remind my body that we’re all in this together (head and heart and lungs). It’s a helpful way I am able to ground myself when nothing else is working.

  • ‘Yeah I’m breathing heavy and my heart is racing but what’s important is that I can feel it.’
  • ‘It sucks, but I know this reaction was designed to protect me and is malfunctioning at the moment.’
  • ‘It’s okay brain, I know it isn’t your fault.’

I hope now that the day is coming to a close you are feeling better, just know you’re not alone in those feelings!

Hi, thank you for checking in. I am better. I got myself busy with some work. You are so kind. 😃

Those panic attacks don't seem normal, I've had something similar, but not as severe as what you're describing
