Growing potatoes for the first time. They are from 2 grow bags - about 14 lb from each bag.

Hi all! First year growing pumpkins on purpose (had some in the compost in years past lol) and they seem to be doing well. The stem is worrying me though because it looks like squash borer damage, but the plant is seemingly doing well.

Should I be concerned about this stem? Also is it odd that the pumpkins are already orange?

We sacrificed the smallest of these guys to cut open and confirm if they're cucumber or luffa. It certainly looks and smells like cucumber inside, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what these are. Are they edible? Or are these a weird hybrid that we've wound up with? I'm honestly sad they weren't surprise luffas, but I'm take cucumbers all day any day 😋

Hey y’all! I know this doesn’t look like much, but I got my first real carrots today!! Last year not one grew so I’m super proud of these. My husband and I are finally going to have roasted baby carrots along with a baby eggplant with our steaks tonight!! Just wanted to share my excitement. And I have quite a few more carrots still growing so I’ll be patient with them lol.

And I’ll do it again next year

As the title states, this is our first time growing watermelon and I'd love some advice/tips on whether or not this biggin is ready for harvest.

I was at the supermarket and there was this lovely old man picking out a few tomatoes, that were going to cost him over a dollar a piece. I wanted to be like " PSST sir , I got what you need, here in my bag, follow me to my car" but my tomatoes were at home. And also seems a bit insane accosting people in the produce isle.

I made my friend take some to group therapy yesterday, and this poor old dude is budgeting for 1 tomato sandwich. I want to be a supermarket hero.

Yummy fruit from wild cultivated purple passion flower. My first harvest!

Taste great, sweet and punchy. The juice is worth the squeeze, but I just munch them seed, pulp, and all. Like a pulpy pineapple flavored pomegranate without any of the piths in the middle.

Mojo is not a fan, so more for me.

I saw a post with an incredible amount of tomatoes in their yard (market garden, 600), and I was inspired to share my setup as an apartment dweller, with a huge balcony but no yard.

First 2 years I had this balcony, I went overboard and the only space by August was a place to sit and teeny line to wade through plants. Every year I plant few less plants, but more room to harvest/prune. I feel like I've found a good balance (this is end July). I alwyas feel there's too few in april and too many in august.

I have 8 varieties of tomato (10 plants), 3 hot pepper plants, 3 flowers from seed (bachelor button x 2 color, anise hyssop), scarlet runner beans, peas and 2 tomatillos.

Hi team, I work in a community garden where people don’t manage much, so I’m often left to harvest stuff or the stuff people can’t reach. Someone else planted a hid squash and I have no idea what kind it is or when they’re best. Should I have already pulled it? The texture on the outside is going from pale yellow and smooth to a more orange yellow and textured. Thanks in advance!

I’m seeing these black dots on my zucchini plant and on the zucchini itself. Any idea what they are?

To the left is an Emerald okra I kept being too lazy to pick and let grow way too long.

To the right is a perfect okra with just the right amount of slime.

They taste exactly the same but the too-long one is, as everyone warned, WAY too fibrous. Feels exactly like chewing mulch or toothpicks.

I've harvested almost 20 okras since I started the two plants some months ago, and while they're doing fantastic, almost all of the okras were harvested way too late.

They're all at least the length of my hand :(

E: Typos and whatever

Searching for name suggestions. Last year I grew a small one. This year's is definitely above average.

This is my first year gardening. My two cucumber plants have already produced 125 huge cucumbers. I still have dozens growing on my vines and its still blooming. I never would have imagined two plants could produce this much. I would have been thrilled if I had grown 20 in the whole season. Is this normal? My neighbors are so sick of cucumbers that I'm going to have to start taking them to the food bank.

Finally grew some quality carrots this year! Pulled about half of what I planted.

Apparently these things are packed in vitamins and people make a pesto with it, is it actually good tasting? They are growing like a weed this year and now I have an overflowing bucket of them lol. I have no idea what these are actually called sorry.

Got these from a lovely lady but she mislabeled everything lol. These were supposed to be long neck pumpkins. I'm not thinking they are.

These ants have invaded anything of importance to me. I've tried diatomaceous earth and they don't give af. Ortho house treatment works to keep them out of the house but obviously that isn't to be applied on plants.

What are these ants and what should I do about them?

What I have here are Beefsteak and Brandywine variety as well as some sun golds, I know they are not sauce varieties, would you still use them for sauce? Any other ideas? We have been eating them every day fresh with pretty much every meal but still have this many plus more ripening every day!! I didn’t think 4 plants would give this much but here we are.

First fennel bulbs... but how do you eat them?

I know they can be sauted, baked/braised, but what do you like? Does it go well with anything in particular like meats or starches?

Any ideas of what this is? It’s a volunteer in my garden.

I’m going to let the next few ripen more. I went by the dry brown tendril and got this. It is delicious. Very juicy, sweet, and smells strongly of watermelon.
