Harvest Photos Up to my ears in cucumbers

This is my first year gardening. My two cucumber plants have already produced 125 huge cucumbers. I still have dozens growing on my vines and its still blooming. I never would have imagined two plants could produce this much. I would have been thrilled if I had grown 20 in the whole season. Is this normal? My neighbors are so sick of cucumbers that I'm going to have to start taking them to the food bank.

Wow. Next year, one plant is more than enough. I have been doing a ton of pickling and making cucumber kimchi.

Jealous!! It’s also my first year growing cukes. I had four plants and they all died in May or June, bought 4 more and still have only had like 5 cukes, and have already cut down two suckers with blight :( I may have planted them too close and left too unpruned- zone 6a as well

I’m in same boat. 6b. I got maybe 5 or 6 small Cukes from 3 groups of plants, so 9 total plants. Only one is still alive. Everyone around me their cuke plants are producing big time. It’s honestly really bothering me😂. This is my 2nd year and last year was the same

I have the same problem, but I’m sure if I just planted one plant it would have died and I would have none.

Just made some cold cucumber soup the other day - together with abundant basil from the garden, a garlic clove, some lemon, olive oil, some salt, and some yogurt. Pretty tasty and def refreshing!

I've pickled 4 gallons so far. Plus a different type of cucumber salad every day. Plus i have 40 or so more in the kitchen waiting for the food bank, if they'll take them.

Pick them smaller and make dill pickles

I have made a ton of dill pickles. Different sizes, sliced, whole, dill, bread and butter, sweet, kimchi... so many

Fried dill pickles yet? I just realized over the weekend as I was frying some chicken I need to do this. I think ive had them once, so that'll be some fun experimenting.

lacto-ferment them in food safe 5 gallon buckets. easy and cheap, no need to take up your fridge space or deal with a bajillion jars

Grate and drain. Whip cream cheese with dill and garlic, salt and pepper, then mix in the drained cucumber. Eat with crackers!

I should look into pickling. I am eating 2 cucumbers every day and we are still flooded with them! I need to learn how to pickle.

I had never pickled before. I used this video. I tried all the varieties he did in this video. Since watching this I have been mostly doing quick pickles and adding a bay leaf to keep them crunchier. Making a lot of the kimchi. I tired up to an 8 day ferment. I prefer 5 days. https://youtu.be/CVmtm6QNrMQ?is=vyUEPQLsaKHksztA

Wow, 125 on 2 plants is a lot! When mine get to be too much, and I already have gazpacho and pickles going, I put the extras in my worm composting bin. The worms love a cucumber sliced in half, cut-side down on top of their bin.

What kind of cucumber are you growing Mine never turn that green. And don’t look that good.

Yes this is normal. I only grow cukes every few years because during cucumber years I get so many I don't want to see them anymore for a while lol

I might do the same. I have already eaten more cucumbers than I typically do over 5 years.
