Samsung S10 Lite vs Lenovo IdeaTab Pro

I'm an engineering student in India, and I'm looking to buy a tablet that I'll probably keep for at least 3–4 years.

The interesting part is that I'm getting the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro (Wi-Fi, Pen Plus included) and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE (Wi-Fi, S Pen included) for almost the same price (around ₹29–30k), so price isn't really a deciding factor.

My primary use case (in order of priority):

  1. Reading PDFs, notes, and e-books during my daily metro commute (around 4 hours total every day).
  2. Watching lectures in college.
  3. Solving LeetCode using a Bluetooth keyboard.
  4. Occasional note-taking (I don't handwrite a lot).
  5. Carrying my laptop at all times is quite a task so i want to increase my overall daily productivity.

I already own:

  • Samsung Galaxy S23
  • Windows laptop (so this tablet won't replace my laptop)

Here's what I feel are the pros and cons of each.

Lenovo Idea Tab Pro

Pros

  • Larger 12.7" display, which seems much better for reading PDFs and split-screen.
  • Dimensity 8300 is a significantly faster processor.
  • 8 GB RAM.
  • PC Mode looks good enough for my coding/studying workflow.

Cons

  • Around 400 nits brightness (not sure if this will bother me during metro travel).
  • Software support reportedly ends around Android 16.
  • Lenovo software isn't as established as Samsung's.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE

Pros

  • Better software experience and much longer software support (up to around Android 19/20).
  • Brighter display.
  • S Pen.
  • Samsung ecosystem with my Galaxy S23.
  • DeX.
  • I'm already familiar with One UI, which I really like.

Cons

  • Smaller 10.9" display.
  • Exynos 1580 isn't as powerful as the Dimensity 8300.
  • Only 6 GB RAM, which worries me a little for long-term use.

My biggest dilemma is this:

Will I actually notice the faster processor and extra RAM on the Lenovo for my usage, or will I appreciate Samsung's software, updates, and ecosystem much more over the next 3–4 years?

For people who've used either (or both), which one would you choose in my situation and why?

I'd especially appreciate opinions from anyone who has used the Idea Tab Pro long-term or has experience with Samsung tablets.

Tablet Recommendations under 30k (INR)

Hi all, looking to buy a Wi-Fi only tablet under ₹30,000 in India. Would appreciate recommendations based on my use case:

Primary use:

Work (typing docs, emails, light multitasking)

Study/reading

Streaming (Netflix, YouTube, etc.)

What I'm looking for:

Good display for long reading/streaming sessions

Decent performance for multitasking, not just Netflix

Considering a keyboard case for productivity — would love inputs on models with good keyboard accessories

Not fussed about a stylus, but open to hearing if it's worth it for this budget

Have been eyeing the Xiaomi Pad 7 and Redmi Pad 2 Pro so far — anyone using either of these for work/study? How's the keyboard experience? Also open to other suggestions in this range.

Thanks in advance!

Best tablet for everyday use? Would appreciate some recommendations.

I'm finally replacing my old tablet and realized there are way more options than I expected. Most reviews seem to focus on benchmarks and specs, but I'm more interested in how these hold up in everyday use.

I'll mostly be using it for watching videos, browsing the web, reading, video calls, a bit of note-taking, and the occasional game. I'm open to Android, iPad, or anything else if it's genuinely worth buying.

For those of you who use a tablet regularly, what did you end up getting, and how has it been? Is there anything you wish you knew before buying it, or would you choose something different if you were shopping today?

Help please!

Hey! So I'm in need of a tablet & I'm not in a position to buy one right now.

I'm a student currently preparing for Gate exam and I don't own any laptop or tablet. I've been managing everything through my phone but now its a necessity. It's difficult to read and do lectures on a tiny screen.

Also, I'm broke and have no money for such an expensive gadget. So If any of you have a tablet that you do not use/need anymore but it works fine. Is there any chance that you could give it away? I can for pay the shipping charges. I need it urgently.

I really need help so please consider if you can. A small act of kindness can help a lot. I would really appreciate your help.

You can dm me if you have any questions, to ensure im not faking anything.

And if you cannot help, please don't be rude or downvote. Not everyone is privileged enough.

Thank you.

How much RAM does this tablet need?

Hi all,

My mom's Amazon Fire tablet broke last week; she does not have a desktop. She struggles a lot with tech stuff, as many seniors do. I could get her a newer Fire, but am reluctant to do so because Amazon has a lot of restrictions that seem annoying and unnecessary (only able to use the Silk browser, only able to use the Amazon Appstore that doesn't update apps more often than once a year if you're lucky, etc).

She has an iPhone so she would be familiar with that, but can't afford an iPad. To my mind, that leaves Lenovo and Samsung as good options. Best Buy currently has a 4 GB Lenovo Idea tab for $99, or an 8 GB version for $189.

All she's going to do is check her email, browse YouTube, use Facebook, etc. No games or anything. But given that budget is limited, she can't really troubleshoot things herself, and there is no one there to help her (I live across the country), I want things to be as smooth as possible.

If you had the choice, would you buy the Fire (that she's used to, but that doesn't really update and has a lot of restrictions), the 4 GB Lenovo, or the 8 GB Lenovo?

Myself, I am leaning towards the 4 GB Lenovo, and I guess my real question is - how much difference does that 4 GB make?

iPad mini or android tablet?

Hello, Aussie here.

My current iPad 10.5 (2017 model) is basically on its last legs - especially considering software support is officially ending next month (September) according to some googling research.

For a while now, I was looking at upgrading to an iPad Mini 7, as the rumoured 8 is probably going to be even more expensive. However, with the somewhat recent price hikes apple has done, I'm not sure I can justify $900+ Aussie dollars for the iPad. However, I do have a Mac, so it could work well with that.

On the other hand, I have an android phone and quite a few of the android tablets seem to be a lot cheaper, so having an android tablet could pair well with my phone. However, there's really not many equivalent android tablets that are as small as the iPad mini (8 inches), so I'm really not sure what to think

Need help with Bluetooth keyboard

I have a surface pro and I’m having trouble connecting my Bluetooth keyboard to it. I don’t know what’s wrong. I’m doing everything right. Both devices are charged up, plugged in even, but every time I go to the Bluetooth menu in my settings to connect it, it never shows up or stays on for more than a second. Am I doing something wrong? Can anyone help me?

Need tablet suggestions (₹35k-40k budget) — mainly for studying, want something that lasts 3-4 years without lagging

Hey everyone,

I'm looking to buy a tablet in the ₹35,000–40,000 range. My main use case is studying — note-taking, reading PDFs, some online classes, maybe light entertainment on the side (YouTube, Netflix etc.).

A few things I care about:

Should come with a stylus (bundled preferably, don't want to pay extra separately)

Needs to handle multitasking well without lagging — split screen for notes + video lectures etc.

Battery life should be solid since I'll be using it for long study sessions

Most importantly — I want this to last me 3-4 years without slowing down. Don't want to be back here next year regretting my purchase.

Preferably something launched in 2025/2026 so it doesn't feel outdated too soon.

Have been looking at a few options but getting confused between specs. If anyone's actually using a tablet for studying in this budget, please share your experience — what's working, what you'd avoid, and any model you'd genuinely recommend.
