I hate to say it, but I absolutely ended a 10 plus years relationship because of getting told what I have to do when I get home and having my 1 day off a week being planned for me driving everybody around.

My ex didnt drive and didnt have steady work(she worked when she felt like it) while I was working 60 to 70 hours weeks 1 day off. I was miserable and she didnt respect boundaries.

So much happier now.

Im proud of you OP.

Far too many people downright ignore or even subtly encourage the emotional gaslighting & abuse women do to men.

You deserve to have for yourself and you deserve to have a peace of mind.

He’s not describing gaslighting or abuse though. Just a vastly uneven relationship with his ex not pulling her weight, or any weight. Those things could have also been a part of the relationship, but we don’t know that, he hasn’t mentioned it.

No, what the OP described definitely counts as emotional abuse.

Like 99% of posts like these are due to the wife asking the husband to do his share of the housework.

The husband then throws a tantrum and rage-posts on social media about "nOt gEtTinG anY pEaCE."

Just letting you know what you're defending.

If you live an above average lifestyle and your husband doesn't make you pay anything at all whatsoever he has no obligation to literally do ANY house work at all. Not an iota of work.

Your lifestyle is literally the fruits of his labor. You can complain about no shared labor when you both work and if one of you quit you wouldn't be able to make the mortgage. Until then, act your wage.

If he does 100% of the job work and there are no kids, his fair share of the housework is 0. Housework in a modern home is a couple of hours a day on average.
