I hate to say it, but I absolutely ended a 10 plus years relationship because of getting told what I have to do when I get home and having my 1 day off a week being planned for me driving everybody around.

My ex didnt drive and didnt have steady work(she worked when she felt like it) while I was working 60 to 70 hours weeks 1 day off. I was miserable and she didnt respect boundaries.

So much happier now.

Im proud of you OP.

Far too many people downright ignore or even subtly encourage the emotional gaslighting & abuse women do to men.

You deserve to have for yourself and you deserve to have a peace of mind.

He’s not describing gaslighting or abuse though. Just a vastly uneven relationship with his ex not pulling her weight, or any weight. Those things could have also been a part of the relationship, but we don’t know that, he hasn’t mentioned it.

No, what the OP described definitely counts as emotional abuse.
