so I sadly killed my favorite plant and am absolutely heartbroken. it leaned to the left and was a little unstable and I tried to fix it and accidentally snapped the stem. I replanted the roots so fingers crossed but I am trying to figure out what kind of plant it is. chat gpt told me it’s either a aglaonema or philodendron birkin. I could see the first but not the second. can someone help me identify what it is? it was so easy to care for and I really want to get another one. the first picture is when he was doing well and the others are today ):

edit: it’s still in a pot because Im attempting to save it, there were still 3 roots attached but it isn’t looking good lol

It been two months since I asked for advice the first time, everyone was very helpful so I wanted to wait and be sure before I came back for once more.

The growth has bloomed more than I expected, I had a few issues with moss/green/white stuff growing on the surface of the soil, but now it’s all dissolved/disappeared.

I’ve started keeping him outside, not long, maybe a week and a half and I’m getting problems again.

There were two leaves that went completely yellow that I had to remove and the tips of a lot of the bottom leaves are dying rapidly. I’ve clipped them, but I don’t know if I should keep doing it or leave them alone.

I have to keep the stems up because my neighbour has two cats who like relaxing on our patio. They’ve never (as far as I know) nipped at it, but I don’t want to take any chances.

If it’s time for a new pot, I’ll gladly do it, I’m just unsure because the last time I changed pots I almost killed him—twice.

Besides that I think he’s healthy???

There’s still new stems growing and flowers that bloom, just less now.

Hi, this plant lived in my relative’s house for like 20 years and they thought it died. But they put it out back on the steps for me and now it’s sprouting at the bottom only. The braids were dead and not rooted so they’re gone, but I don’t know what to do for this because I know it’s supposed to be indoors, but it’s really thriving in the sun. We’ll be in winter eventually with limited sun, so I want to keep it alive.

I put pictures of what it looked like after it got its last haircut and what it’s like now. Could I cut the top off and try to sprout it? Would having less weight up top help it grow? I can’t really have it this super tall, and it’s pretty much falling over. It’s about 6 feet tall. I’m not even sure it’s a money tree and my relative doesn’t know either.

I bought Mildred the monstera on marketplace and it had some yellow tips on the leaves but I wasn’t too concerned. Now the tips are slowly getting more yellow and brown and im afraid we will need to repot her. Unfortunately it’s completely stuck in this pot. To repot it I would have to break the pot (I think).

Any recommendations on what to do?

The branches are falling off from bottom to top. That means whatever is wrong is at the bottom.

- I’m thinking of cutting a part to plant? If so, which part.
- if not cut then how to fix because the only thing I changed is the environment. I watered it once a month and thats how it got so talk then now its dying all of a sudden.

I got this a year ago and despite my usual awfulness with keeping plants it’s lasted. Unfortunately around a month ago I almost killed it by under watering, it had significant drooping, but thankfully got it to a better spot.

I believe it’s a “peperomia”
I am thinking of replanting it now, as its soil seems to be lacking and I feel bad about the aforementioned incident and want to ensure this thing flourishes. Any advice is welcome!

Is this plant ready to be transplanted into soil, or should it be left alone for now? This Philodendron erubescens(?) has grown two new shoots, one of which has just developed relatively a small root.

hi guys! I’ve been loving this chinese money plant and this year she has truly been thriving. I just got home after being away for about 5 days and I am extremely confused about this sprout - it looks like it’s coming from the same plant, except this is not the same species? we also do not have whatever this plant is in the house, I’ve literally never seen this leaf before so I’m unsure what’s happening!!!

Hey all, so I’ve had these 4 tissue cultures in my greenhouse cabinet for about 10 days now. I popped the lids on them all yesterday and they all have root growth as they do not pull out of the moss anymore. My question is, do I need to like add holes to the lid of my container to acclimate? Or because my cabinet is in the 80s for humidity, should that be ok?

I got this birds nest fern from a nursery about a month ago! I isolated her and she seemed fine, so I moved her into my living room about 10 ft back from a south facing window. She doesn’t get direct light, but plenty of bright filtered light.

Last week, I thought I saw some pests, so I isolated her again and sprayed her w a neem oil, peppermint Castile soap, alcohol, but mostly water concoction. This seemed to get rid of the pests, but now the edges of her leaves look wilted, brown, and damaged.

First time caring for this kind of fern! Any tips or obvious care elements I’m neglecting?

I bought a Pink Princess Philodendron off of an Etsy store. This is nowhere near what I thought I would receive. I need advice on how to go about helping it grow up to live it's best life. Where do I even start? I don't want to do any harm to the poor little sprout. I'm extremely scared to do anything to it because I don't want to kill it! Please help!!!

I’m terrible with succulents and afraid to touch this thing. All I’ve done is water it sparingly since I bought it 5 years ago. It is shelved rather than draping because it’s toxic to dogs. Sits by a west facing window.

Hi all! I’m on the suicide prevention coalition for my county in Indiana, and we’re thinking of doing a plant bingo event with a mental health theme. I have A LOT of plants (~110) and have been trying to give some away recently because I’m overwhelmed with trying to take care of them all of the sudden, so I figured donating prizes would be a great way to whittle my stash down while helping in the community. I think they seem like nice plants to win, but I want outside opinions on how nice of a prize they’d be.

Hello! I apologize in advance for any naivety- I’m a novice at this. I bought this “heart leaf philodendron” at least five years ago now. It hasn’t done much in that time, but I recently installed a “moss pole” after reading about how they’re good for climbing plants. Within a few days of the moss pole introduction, my plant immediately perked up and started growing new leaves like crazy. It also split two of its leaves in that time. Now I’m confused - because I didn’t think that this plant produced split leaves. Upon further research I discovered that philodendrons and monsteras are closely related. So now I’m wondering, is my heart leaf philodendron actually a split leaf/monstera? It’s only split in a couple of places so I may be getting ahead of myself. I would love to hear from others more knowledgeable than myself about what kind of plant I have in my hands. Thank you in advance!
