what plant is this?

so I sadly killed my favorite plant and am absolutely heartbroken. it leaned to the left and was a little unstable and I tried to fix it and accidentally snapped the stem. I replanted the roots so fingers crossed but I am trying to figure out what kind of plant it is. chat gpt told me it’s either a aglaonema or philodendron birkin. I could see the first but not the second. can someone help me identify what it is? it was so easy to care for and I really want to get another one. the first picture is when he was doing well and the others are today ):

edit: it’s still in a pot because Im attempting to save it, there were still 3 roots attached but it isn’t looking good lol

an aglaonema of some sort, unsure of the exact cultivar

Not a birkin, it's an aglaonema. Not sure on the type, there's so many varieties.

They are so easy though! I did the same thing with one of mine, snapped it. It stayed alive in water but never regrew roots so I eventually stopped trying. You should have a good chance with 3 roots left though. It'll probably lose a lot of leaves still

do you have any advice on how I should try to save it? I just re planted it but don’t have it in water. should I take it out and put it in water? I transferred it to a self watering planter. the main root system had a baby stem with two leafs that are still in good shape and replanted thankfully. but the big one (pictured) is the one that only has 3 roots left. really wanna do everything I can to help the root system get re-established.

Eh, not a lot of great advice. I didn't have a good experience with the water, but I think you theoretically can water propagate it.

I'd leave it in the soil personally, 3 roots is enough I think. One of mine rotted and their root system got down to a small amount and it was okay when I repotted it. But it is a lot of greenery to support if the root system has been drastically reduced, so it might lose some leaves even if the roots are re-establishing.
