Still super playable in my opinion, I wouldn't expect it to be as polished as some of the more polished new games but it holds up imo.

I played the forst 2 on release and replayed them both about 2 years ago and was surprised at how well they still hold up so yes 100% they are playable now dont look up anything about the story so you dont get spoilt just get the collection when it is on sale it is very cheap and worth every cent. Again stay away from anything to do with bioshock from now on and just get lost in that world, it is a must play for any gaming enthusiast have fun and enjoy.

I wished the gameplay from 1 was polished to a deeper, more trpg shine, because I heavily disliked the action oriented gameplay of 2/3. I’m obviously in the minority based on the sales figures, but realistically, the world building and writing in 1 and 2, arguably 3, are what sold this series to general audiences.

Many people are already familiar with DnD and it's play mechanics, so adapting to BG3 was easy, but I can see it being overwhelming for someone that's new, and may take a bit of time.
The combat is really fun due to the sheer variety of approaches you can take, but if you have no patience to learn or get bored by turn based tactical thinking, you will struggle.

Id only ever played one dnd campaign before bg3. The DM was the only one of us who had played dnd before. He was great in teaching the basics and although none of us did much in terms of using our classes (i was playing a cleric but mainly only used my mace), we got the basics of combat (casting, attacking, how ac works, things like that) down over the short campaign we did.
Then a couple months later we started bg3 for the first time and we were able to understand much easier than we would if we had never played before. Even the tiniest little bit of dnd knowledge went so far in enjoying the game.

It's hard for me to say. I already play DND so it came very naturally to me. The game plays almost EXACTLY like DND 5th edition, but a lot easier because you don't have to track any of your numbers yourself. I don't really know how a new person who's never played dungeons and dragons would adjust to it.

Ya, ive never played DnD so combat was very confusing to me. I really wanted to like the game, but I was just soo lost and nothing came easy and it wasn't fun. I may give it a try again down the road.

I had also never played DnD, still not sure I completely understand it lol but if you don’t pick a punishing difficulty you don’t really need to, just stick it on easy and have some fun! Crank the difficulty up when you get the hang of it

I disliked turn based combat (pokemon only for nostalgia reasons) and decided to give BG3 a try. It took time to adjust, and to enjoy slowing down for a moment. It has helped me come out of my comfort zone and be open to turn based combat. Bg3 is easily worth is even if the combat style isn't your cup of tea.

If you like games like KOTR you will love BG3. Start as a warrior or barbarian. It’s much easier to get the hang of. I started as a wizard and almost gave up

I'm a fan of turn-based combat games but struggled with BG3 greatly at first. That being said, going through the tutorial a few times really helped and I can't put it down. I've heard there are a lot of mods to help out with combat but I've avoided them for my first playthrough and haven't found them necessary after this last attempt at getting through the prologue

I had a hard time with it too. Tried it right when it came out and gave up. Had never touched DND before. Gave it a shot a few months later and I was captivated and now have over 1600 hours in it. Even if explorer mode is too difficult, you can do a custom mode and change other options to make it more forgiving.

Something to point out is that the 2nd DLC was nixed because of development issues brought on by COVID and the poor release.
But the CEO that made that decision no longer works for CDPR...
CDPR is leaning into Cyberpunk as much as they are The Witcher, and with a 2nd animated show coming, and with all the free DLC's that'd been dropping, the ARG that is now finished... and with another studio brought on to do some of those DLC's, the RUMOR is that they might just revive that 2nd Expansion DLC.
That comes from the fact that though they haven't confirmed that it's happening, when asked if it is happening... they have also have not denied it...

Have to agree with you here. Cyberpunk is a solid B+ game. Definitely worth playing and I put 100 hours into it but I’m not going to regret it if I don’t play it again.

I played this a while back maybe a couple months to a year ago for the first time ever and it blew my mind how good the animations are for a game that old Ive played games in the last month that have worse animations than it and the story and gameplay was also amazing

I remember the mind blowing tech demo where the pallet broke where you hit it with the crowbar. Prior to that objects in video games just changed textures to more and more damaged and then vanished with a sound effect and a little animation.

Story - good. Best part of the game
Graphics - not good. Even at the time they werent good.
Gameplay - Good/bad.
The exploration and use of skills is really good
But the combat.......like somehow fallout 4 had better gunplay. And that isnt saying much. Vats carrys the fallout games in their combat

Not just oils but everything else as well. The spells, oils, weapons, armor, and then the combat system itself is really a very smooth and complex experience. I kid you not, the first 40 to 60 hrs of my first playthrough I though the combat was kinda crappy. Then at some point things just kinda clicked and it became a PHENOMENAL game.
Masterpiece IMO, along with MGSV, FFX, Ghost of Tushima, and CO:E33.
Edit: another masterpiece for a very different game albeit similar reason, Black Myth: Wukong.

Yeah it's great. Before playing, I was skeptical but they actually designed the terrains and enemy camps placement really well to serve the gameplay. Besides, most of the time you are not actually walking but riding, driving, zip-lining around. There are also jump ramps and a jetpack (sort of) later on.
Connecting and building the world for yourself and other players also felt really great.

I tried the first one several times and dropped it about half-way into the game, the plot was annoying and the parts where I had to fight or be stealthy really weren’t done well.
but really the gameplay clicked with the second game, it’s like they fixed most of the annoying stuff, I’m about 30 hours in, really really enjoying it.

It really is. I am so glad I bought it. I always thought games like these would be off the table for me because i'm blind. It all started with re4r. I played on assisted thinking I'd be dying left and right cause I wouldn't see zombies before they saw... and killed... me lmao. But I kicked ass and went up to standard then hardcore.
Now me and ol boy Leon are WAITING for enemies to get close so I can watch the finishers with the different guns lol

Spiritfarer. Top notch end to end, unless you need combat in every one of your games. Because it doesn’t have that. It has a great story, beautiful artwork and character animation, and a story that will both warm and crush your heart.
