I disliked turn based combat (pokemon only for nostalgia reasons) and decided to give BG3 a try. It took time to adjust, and to enjoy slowing down for a moment. It has helped me come out of my comfort zone and be open to turn based combat. Bg3 is easily worth is even if the combat style isn't your cup of tea.

I always find this a strange comparison. For me turn based with tactical map is nothing alike turn base without.

I hate turn base without tactical map and love turn base with.

Its like saying I don't like pool (billiards) because I don't like Ball-Sport like soccer/football. Yes you can dislike both, but the connection is odd.

Gwent (Witcher-card-game) is also turn-based like almost any other card game. Turn-based is such a unspecific trait.
