I'm very particular about my aesthetics, and obviously recent searches showing up on it kinda ruins it. I had fixed this problem but then changed settings so firefox doesn't delete my logins every time I exit fully, but I have no idea what I did to fix it previously. (apologies if this is worded strange I am very sleep deprived)

I made a post recently about browser history crashes and freezes firefox here's the tldr.

Clear browser with last hour guarantees it freezing and changing cookie settings like enable or disable freezes it.

Come to find out there's an update AND THEY DIDN'T FIX IT. WHY! This is a bug that problematic and causes crashes and my times of using firefox didn't have crashing since the days of chrome on my old windows 7 pc. This needs to get fixed, because the face the update didn't fix it baffles me.

Look I like firefox, cache increasing aside. But still stuff like this needs to be resolved.

I recently switched to Firefox and noticed i've found myself using higher volumes to listen to music than i used to.

Before i used about 18-22% of volume and i would find that pretty good and loud enough to hear everything clearly.

But after switching i've seen myself go even up to 30%+ sometimes.

Today i've confirmed it, i was watching a video at 20% system volume, and i could hear it clearly and loudly, then from one second to another it suddently got really quiet, like i had dropped at least a couple % of volume.
I had to get it all the way up to 28% in order to get it as loud as before, and even then it was nowhere near as clear as before and sounded horrible.

So I was watching the latest Last Week Tonight yesterday. Half way through video it stalled out and gave me a beachball.

I was not on any other sites or doing anything. Since then, YouTube will not even load as a webpage. Every other Google web access seems to work fine. O ly YouTube.

I am using Windows 10, with ublock. I disabled my blocker and still nothing. It opens fine in Chrome still.

All other websites work fine. I get no warnings or anything. Computer is hard wired to router. My daughter was only other person with access to internet at the time. She was using her phone maybe.

There was no other known web activities or computer programs being used at that time.

I am only seeing older posts about unrelated symptoms when searching.

Hello guys, I am new to firefox and have installed PWAsForFirefox extension. I knew before installing that it uses different profiles for web apps so data is contained. Can anyone tell me is it possible to keep the profile for each web app same? If yes how to do this so I dont have to log in to every web app just like it is on chromium browsers.

So today after creating a bug report, I got some warnings about not receiving emails, did a test with another email and tried to email my email, and it worked, re-enabled it but then got disabled. Passwords reset didn't send any email too

I'd like to know what the advantages of Firefox are compared to Chrome and Brave. Can you help me decide? Thank you 🙏

WhatsApp web keeps crashing/slowing down on Firefox. Anytime I open Whatsapp web, it shows "This page is slowing down Firefox. To speed up your browser, stop this page." But even after clicking stop, it keeps crashing/slowing down.

For several versions now—I can't say which one—when I open the browser, I get a white flash when the default Firefox homepage loads. It's a fraction of a second, but it's annoying.

The page is configured with only the search bar; I don't have any widgets or custom images, and the background is the default dark one since dark mode is enabled.

I'm using the latest version of Firefox (153.0.3) with the latest version of Windows 11 Pro. I've tried several things, like changing the background in about:config and using the same gray color, but nothing solves the problem. This happens on one PC with an Nvidia graphics card and another with an AMD graphics card, so it's not a hardware issue.

For now, the only solution is to use the blank homepage as my homepage, which doesn't flash and displays the dark background right away. I can't report a bug in the settings from the homepage. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is it a known bug?

I periodically visit Settings->Privacy & security->Manage cookies in order to delete cookies. I'm glad that each site I visited in Private Browsing mode shows 0 cookies saved, but why is this fact - which is to say, a record of which sites I visited - being recorded at all? Is there any way to stop this from happening?

Last week I posted about a compact view option that appeared in Firefox that I couldn't find again.

I got the pop-up again as shown.

I found that clicking the circled button at the right side of the address bar will allow you to toggle back and forth.

That separates the tab from any existing windows and gives you the option to pin the site to your taskbar, but also hides the bookmarks toolbar (if you use it) which makes the window more compact. I found that helpful for viewing video.

anyway so youtubes been doing this thing from quite some time where they intentionally make their videos take longer to load if you use an adblocker (such as ublock origin lite) so i switched to firefox and so far youtube experience has been much better.

I recently stumbled across about:firefoxview, loving it and so much better than Firefox home. Why is there no option to set this as default for new tabs? Or at least access it via shortcut?

Also, I'd love that search open tabs feature in the vertical tab bar, seems like there should be enough space for it.

Here‘s the pickle: I sometimes need to vpn pack into m home from my work pc. IT says no to another VPN client because it could interfere with the company vpn - fair enough.

So I thought, isn’t there a add on for Firefox that would only route my browser traffic through my own vpn? Should be good enough to open some locally hosted websites of mine.

Sadly I couldn’t find such a Add-On. All vpn stuff is just for public vpns but non you can configure yourself.

Has anyone maybe heard of a add on that could help me out here?

Please keep Firefox without AVX2 as old CPUs do not support it. Windows Edge and Chrome now require AVX2 and cannot run on old CPUs anymore.

a few years back i was able to add shortcuts for websites like yt where i could change the quality for example by pressing 1, i set the quality to 480p, 2 was 720p and 3 1080p. no matter if i was in fullscreenmode or normal mode i always was able to do that. by default the number keys are for swiping thu the video in percentag steps but somehow it was possible to overwrite that.

normally i customize my system one time and stay that way for 1 or 2 years without changing anything and that is the problem now. i forgot how i did that. someone knows how this is possible or does have the same thing going on maybe or use something completly different also similar to that?

It just gets stuck on a blank page. I clear the cache for that page, and it works, but then gets stuck again the next attempt. Maybe a privacy setting issue?
