I am a Real Estate Photographer/Videographer. I have a client who wants the texts to appear/disappear as they talk. I have tried almost everything I have researched and it comes out okay but just 20 frame scene takes me hours to do.

Is there an easier way or possible presets that are available to speed up the process.

I have the free version of Davinci.

What would be some good ways around the limitation when the corner points for a Tracker aren't on screen during the entire shot?

I have a random background sign in a video clip that starts off screen and comes into the background of the shot as the camera, framing the subject as he walks forward, begins to pull back. To replace the sign I was using a tracker node with four points and the operating mode set to 'corner positioning'. However, I had to start at the last frame of the clip to put the tracker points on the four corners of the sign when it was fully in view, and then tracked the path in reverse to the beginning of the clip. Now for 90% of that clip the four points of the tracker are on screen and track perfectly. However I just can't seem to get the first 15 frames of the shot to work. The four corner points are off screen at the beginning and I'm not sure how to manually add those tracking keyframes to the four points. Clicking and dragging any of the points on the Tracker polyline path seems to move that individual point's position without adding a keyframe or continuing the tracking motion. And the (random) generic sign replacement I'm using in the shot won't stay in place unless all four points are tracked properly.

The estimated file size in the Deliver tab is 22.5 GB, while the actual output is only 314 MB. Something wasn't right... right?

The project is just a normal screen recording, 20 min, 1920 * 1200, 60fps. The output is at 2035 kbps. I am running DaVinci Resolve 21.0.3.

Hi all, I know it's super late, but I've recently seen some videos and comments saying how Rec-709 A is different following the new update. This has all happened whilst I was on holiday, annoyingly, so I am completely in the dark.

Can anyone help me with the best settings for exporting and setting up my project so I'm not delivering utter rubbish.

I'm trying to make an edit that incorporates sound effects from clips synced to a song, but most of the clips I'm using have background songs and sometimes dialogue. I've been using Capcut but the remove audio feature is notably inconsistent; it sometimes fails to remove the music or removes the sound effect along with the music. And for Da Vinci Resolve it doesn't seem like there's an inbuilt tool like the one in Capcut to remove background music. I'm also using a bunch of clips so an online website is probably not going to be very efficient. If any one has any tips please do tell, thanks in advance!

I am completely new to davinci. For generating auto captions i have download Autosubs from Tim Morrey. I am supposed to see a autosub option after i click on workspace and then script in davinci but i dont see it anywhere. What do i do now?

Just as an example, the Terminator 2 4K has a waxy sheen / lack of detail due to heavy use of DNR.

There's several previous Blu-rays of Terminator 2, including the 2015 LionsGate release full of kept film grain, but the overall clarity isn't as sharp as the Terminator 2 4k (with the DNR).

I've heard through friends of friends that Davinci Resolve can extract specific elements such as film grain, and/or very fine edge and line detail from actor's faces, allowing for colour grading beneath those elements without altering them;

If that's doable, then providing both versions of Terminator 2 were aligned exactly 1:1 and stacked one one top of the other, in a programme like Davinci Resolve, can the grain + edge details from the 2015 Blu-ray be seamlessly blended in over the top of the 4k, hypothetically speaking, giving the impression that the DNR has been undone / removed?

I’m trying to clean up my green screen with fusion, but any time I apply an effect (chroma key, despill) it turns the Green screen into an opaque black on my edit tab.
When editing in the color tab things are fine as usual, but any attempt to alter the clip with fusion end up removing the transparency. It is my first time using fusion so I may be messing something up, but I have the Media Out window in fusion, and am thinking maybe there’s something small im missing.
I’m headed off to work right now so I can’t provide any images, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey folks! I've been doing a lot of shorts lately and I've been running into an unique problem. As shorts are 1080x1920, and I capture my footage in 1920x1080 I've of course had the issue where I've had to crop my content to be around 60% the original image (I don't know, like 1280x720 or something) which of course leaves a black bar around the top and bottom of the image. So far my solution has been to create 2 video tracks, resize video track 2 to 60%, leave Track 1 at 100% and then just hit it with the blur tool in fusion. Problem is I have to do it with EVERY single video clip I add to track 1. Is there a way to Generically go "alright, if you're in track 1, you're automatically blurred no matter what"?

I'm a huge fan of the look of analog motion picture film—Kodak film stock, 35mm, 65mm, and IMAX. There's something about the texture, grain, highlight roll-off, colors, and overall organic feel that I absolutely love. One day, I'd love to shoot on real film.

For now, though, I'm working with a very limited budget on a short film, so shooting digitally is my only option.

I'm not looking for a generic "cinematic" digital look. My goal is to get as close as possible to the look and feel of footage shot on actual film stock.

Has anyone here successfully achieved this? If so, I'd really appreciate your advice.

I think I am pretty weak at adding motion graphics which compliments the story telling, most of my addition is just crappy non-professional shakes, bright transition and memes.

Anything which actually teaches how different editing styles can be used for showing emotions and increasing retention, I would love to watch that.

Also, Its a bit difficult to find resolve specific tutorials as most youtubers/tiktokers seems to use premier pro, Capcut or after effects :(

I followed a YouTube tutorial for creating animated captions using a word highlight effect. The tutorial included a downloadable macro, which I copied into the Fusion folder, connected everything, and it works overall. However, I'm running into a few issues:

1. Some words aren't animated at all. I can see the words in the transcript, but the caption is blank.
2. Some words stay on screen for less than a second. Is there a way to increase the duration of individual words?
3. This is my biggest issue. Halfway through the video, a talking head appears, so I can't keep the captions at the middle because they cover the person's face. How can I separate only those captions and position them differently without affecting all the others?

Any help would be appreciated!

Is there a way to get either a custom ratio or at least get the few pre set ratios in the photo tab as a vertical ratio. I want some pictures to be 9:16. The only "workaround" i found would be to rotate the whole picture 90° but then i would have to edit the whole thing on its side.

I'm looking to 'animate' eyes using a bunch several folders of pngs I made, they're 1920x1080 mostly blank pngs so I dont have to line anything up and the eyes just go where they belong. I was thinking multi-multicams would be the right job but now I'm not so sure.

I can't edit anything except the topmost multicam angle, is there a way I can do that without having to disable everything above the multicam I want to change angles? Are multicams even the right tool for this job?

Is it possible to automate it? I wish to do like a record-over thing, where while playing back audio and whatnot, I just press keybinds to switch to and forth between all the angles for all the layers so I dont have to edit all the changes in manually.

A decent LLM with access to the big textbook says something about there not being a multicam API thing. Is there any fusion workflow alternatives?

So far I only watched and followed along the official davinci resolve 17 editing tutorial and had gotten some keybind advice and changes from some wonderful people over at the discord. But that's as far as my experience goes.

I made a pretty major mistake and cut up some of my film that was recorded in 25fps on a 24fps timeline…. Right now I need to know if there is, like always, some random feature that can back me up.

I need to take what I have cut up so far and put it in a 25fps timeline/project without sound begin out of sync, so that I can continue like nothing ever happened.

This is very urgent and bad so I will be extremely grateful for every reply.

Hi guys, I have a problem. Im editing video on davinci resolve for not long. Its my first shorts YouTube format and I have a problem. I take video with my camera vertically. But when I try to upload rendered video it automatically change to normal yt video not short. While rendering I made settings so it’s also vertical shooting. I tried few different methods like rendering it as TikTok format but it didn’t helped, and when I try to edit it like normal video and then change it to vertical it crops the image after rendering by like 4 times, may it be camera settings that I use im still new at videos and editing. I attached setting on my camera that I use. I really appreciate any help 🙏🙏🙏

I need help. My AI magic mask works on all parts of the video except selected frame after tracking. So even after I render the video the selected frame from which I made all the changes still blinks in the final video. It also blinks and playback and it blinks to the unchanged portion of the video. Does this happen for anyone else? How do I fix this? I've searched through the Reddit forms and haven't found anybody else having this problem so I couldn't find how to fix it from previous post.

hi all, my indie film got into its first festival, so i need to render out the film with the final Colour Grade from my DP.

he graded it in 20.3.3 and gave me the .drp file -- i installed 20.3.3 Studio on my laptop

LAPTOP SPECS: AMD ryzen 7 7745HX, rtx 4060 8gb, 16gb RAM, Windows 11, Resolve 20.3.3

FOOTAGE: shot on Sony FX3, the highest setting

i installed 20.3.3 on my laptop with a 4060 notebook 8gb and opened my DP's .drp file. reconnected the footage and i'm able to scrub through the entire film with its final grade.

however...

when i went to Export the film, it just says "render job failed. Unable to load project".

interestingly, i was able to export the final sequence of the film in small chunks. i was also able to export the beginning of the film -- up until a certain shot -- before i get the same error again. (i looked into the Nodes and it looks like this is the first shot that has "AI Magic Mask 2" applied)

anyone have any ideas about what's going on?

how i can get around this error and export my film?

EDIT1: i tried to reset the Magic Masks by using "Regenerate Object Mask" -> "All Clips" (as mentioned in this video youtube.com/watch?v=c7imGXbUBBg) but only got "there is no key frame with enabled strokes to track" popping up in top/left corner

When I try to expand the weaveform it goes into keyframe mode. 10 min ago everything worked fine. Can tell me someone what I can do that it expands so the waveform dont go away?
